Well where do I start the meat isn't even good quality and it's so over priced and I see they take pieces of ur pounds when preparing an placing on trays! Be careful I counted my pieces when ordering when I got home I only had a few and they left the smallest ones. I have yet to taste a better prepared carne asada than El Toro's! In addition, their avocados are perfect every time! I promise you we never had a bad one! They keep them behind the counter, so be sure to ask. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish, they will help you. This small little "hole in the wall" has some of the freshest produce, too! It's a very small market, but what they do have is delish! We always get their package of tortilla chips, too! Yum!! Why have I just discovered this market! Best carne asada/pollo ever. They marinate the meat right there in front of you. I was quite impressed as it's usually just sitting in a marinade tub elsewhere leaving you wondering how long it's been sitting. I plan to visit this market every time I'm in town. The meat has so much flavor and wow you really can taste the freshness. They also have a selection of other grocery items. I was happy to find charcoal and liter fluid. EL Toro , I swore by your meat for 20 years and yes it was the best in all of LA and Arizona. I also noticed there hasn't been any reviews in 9 months or so... I waited for over 45 minutes yesterday (April 3rd 2021) to buy 6 lbs of your ranchera and chicken. I'm not sure if you weren't prepared for the Easter crowd or you've changed your beef supplier but Your ranchera was flavorless after 1 day in the fridge and most of it was very difficult to cut and almost inedible (chewy and not good). The chicken was just ok , nothing like I remembered. I'm writing this review because I know somethings different and whatever it is you should consider changing back. Your workers have always been polite and helpful and your salsa, guacamole , pico are still awesome ! Good luck in the future with your business, I'm going to look elsewhere. read more

The short ribs was the only meat I got since my regular place was out. I was a little skeptical since it wasn't already marinated and they prepared for you while you wait but I must say very flavorful meat and had a lot more meat than fat and very juicy. Definite go to place for asada and chicken asado... service is nice. I usually get the asada which is about 7.45/ lb and they marinate it right on the spot. Yeah it sounds like it could be singer marinade, the amount of time it stays in the bag it absorbs enough flavor to deliver. A def go to place and a place to get good meat. This place is convenient and down the street. Even when I lived alittle ways from this place I made it a point to come here and because of the quality it felt like it was only down the street. I recently moved to Pomona and hadn't had the opportunity to have people over for some good old fashioned "carne asada." I luckily found this place by looking it up on Yelp. Oh boy were the comment correct. The carne ranchera here is very delicious and it's very tender. Nobody was dissapointed. I took 10 pounds of meat and all that was fully enjoyed.
