I've been in Upland over 20 years and I think this place has to. I remember stopping in here years ago per my neighbors recommendation. He told me you can't beat the prices especially on the meat. I've only actually been in to purchase their freshly made hummus and boy oh boy it's fresh and delicious. If you walk back to the meat section they have their fresh hummus there. Great amount of lavash and pita to choose from. They have a huge selection of middle eastern ingredients, spices and food. I'll definitely be back to pick up some meat and look around for some interesting middle eastern food. Great service from their staff as well!!!! read more

Stumbled upon this place while driving by. Saw falafel on the window and knew this would be the place to get lunch! I got the falafel plate which came with 8 pieces of falafel, a few pieces of fresh pita bread, hummus, and salad. ( I asked to add cucumbers). It was so delicious! They also gave a generous portion. this place is a mess and the meat looks good on the display but once I get home all the meat I bought looks bad and it appears to be expired I bought a worth of 100 meat and all is bad included the lamb. Noticed the small sign on Mountain before Foothill, decided to check the new store out. I noticed this market produce/bread area is clean as with the grocery aisles. Halal meat section also nicely displayed various poultry, lamb and beef and some deli items. Kafta kabobs ready to grill. I ordered a kabob plate which were grilled and placed on top of buttery seasoned rice, cucumber, tomato and lettuce salad and a generous amount of hummus and with thin lavash or pita bread. I also picked up cucumber yogurt salad and baba ganoush - you can taste that the eggplant was grilled, seeded and mixed with lemon, tahini and garlic. When it was the last time that you call your grocery store 10 minute before they close and asked them to wait for you because you need something and you forgot to get it earlier? Well it's happened to me tonight. We are having bit party tomorrow night about 50 people.And when I started to prepare one of the dishes, I found out that I am missing one important ingredient. I call the store and ask for help. I was very surprised when the owner said to me " I will leave it outside the store in the ...." I drove to the store got there about 15 minutes after closing time, And as the owner said the items were there This is a service you can't find anywhere in those days. Great market!! They have plenty of Middle Eastern spices, cheeses, breads, rice, etc. Also a great selection of fresh meat, poultry, lamb, etc., as well as a produce section. They also have options like prepared (uncooked) fajitas. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I will continue to come here! Update--They have food too, and it's delicious! This was my first time coming and sadly it was the worst food ever. All the food is bland, they seem to add an abundance of parsley to everything to make it look pretty. The salad would have been good if they would had minimized the amount of parsley. To top it off we got a family meal for four people, which included the meat, rice, salad, humus and pita bread. Unfortunately the pita pack that was given to us had only two pitas and they were old and stale. Good luck to anyone else who try's this place. A great selection of breads and spices among other delicious middle eastern items! I highly recommend the special home made Iraqi cream also known as Kamer! Amazing as a breakfast treat. I love Arabic/middle Eastern food, but every time I wanted to eat Arabic food, I had to order from a restaurant on the takeout menu, and it's always so expensive and small portions, yesterday was the first day I walked into this place, and I got dinner for my entire family, plus leftovers, for 15 bucks!.fresh and made to order. Huge portions, very tasty food, very clean, and authentic, fair priced. You can buy from the store, order food fresh made to go, or buy it made already from the fridge. Tons of options, very cheap, and can't forget to mention, the man and woman that work there, are lovely people! Good mannered, helpful and kind people. This will be my "go to" place for anything I need, from groceries, to takeout food. I was not disappointed. Plus, they are willing to adjust the food if you tell them you want something special. My 15$ dinner *hummus (enough for 3 people at least) *cucumber salad(big portion) *fattoush salad (the lady made this fresh for me, and it was delicious, healthy, and enough for 4 people to share (but I ate it myself) *pita bread ¢89cents *tabbouli salad (very fresh.) All this for around 15$ bucks. If I were to order all this separately from a restaurant, without a doubt, it would have been over 30$ plus more. Let me preface this review by saying I have not yet tried the meat that I bought. This review is in relation to customer service. I went to fresh way for the first time today with a toddler and a 1 month old in 100 degree weather. To top it off, my toddler decided to throw a fit and didn't want to walk (while I'm hauling a car seat with my infant). The owner, bless him, came out to help distract my toddler out of his tantrum and into the store. Life saver. He made what could have been a nightmare of a trip to the grocery store very tolerable. read more
