A long time ago there once was a family fun center, for lack of a better term, called Dandy's Frontier. In fact, the sign is still there. It had a rustic theme for the main building and a miniature golf course as well as a little race track. El Toro moved into the space and while they removed the mini golf and race track they pretty much kept the main building intact changing very little including the decorations on the wall. It was a bit odd for me like a strange case of deja vu but knowing I had been there before and often at that. I had the tacos which were perfectly fine and typical of many Jalisco style Mexican restaurants. The food came out quick and the plates were very warm. The meat was cooked perfectly and while it was fine it wasn't notable in any way. The refried beans were a little soupy but the rice was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was to the point and the model of efficiency. She made no small talk, suggestions, or pleasantries but competently took our order and ensured its prompt delivery. I had no issue with this as it also was familiar to me within Jalisco style Mexican restaurants but again there was nothing notable. I am glad to see that the area has a Mexican restaurant and I am glad to have experienced it, but I am not going to return. read more

Nothing had any flavor. I am not a strong spice person. I ordered the special Margarita. I found myself just trying to get it done, sad to spend that much on a drink just to want it done. Strawberry daiquiri was just okay. Salsa was okay. I ordered the wet burrito and it had no flavor at all. I put the salsa on it to have some type of flavor. Chicken burrito was better than a beef burrito on the wet burrito. But, that is not saying much. Taco was okay. But, heck I should have just gone to Taco Bell. I don't mind spending $27 on a meal. Unique atmosphere. Very rustic ranch style. The food is tasty. Don't expect red salsa with ur chips. They only serve green verde , unfortunately. I love hot and spicy foods. The verde is not. Honestly, I absolutely love this place. I don't understand what all of the bad reviews are about. Personally, I don't much care for their tacos, but hey, that's just me. Their quesadilla fajita is excellent and my mother and sister love the chicken chimichanga. The queso is amazing! I highly recommend it. You can tell their chips are always fresh and their salsa is homemade. For how busy it usually is, I never have to wait that long for my meal. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic and the staff is friendly. If you are looking for a nice family night out I suggest this place. Oh and P.S. Try the fried ice cream. How can such an amazing Mexican restaurant be in rural western PA? I lived close to Manhattan for a couple of years and El Toro is far better than anything in the NYC area. The service is professional, prompt and the waitstaff is highly knowledgable about the menu. There were 6 of us dining and we all had traditional Mexican fare. We all agreed that the best Mexican food is not in Mexico or Southern California but at El Toro in the middle of nowhere western PA! read more

Great Mexican food, affordable prices and a friendly waitstaff. There isn't much of a restaurant selection for visitors to Cranberry, but I'm very happy El Toro was here. use to be one of my favorite places to eat. me and my sister ordered yesterday 1 steak fajita in one chicken fajita. After about a 15 minutes drive home we opened it up and realized they had given us 2 steak fajita and I don't like steak. So we called and they said we could come at any time to pick up a chicken fajita free of charge. Well I decided to go today so I could eat it for lunch at work, ordered it over the phone no problem explain what happened yesterday and gave them my name they had wrote down. I show up to get they go to rong me out and I explain nice again that it was supposed to be free of charge. another lady came over and very rudely told me that they gave us a chicken fajita and a steak fajita yesterday, I explained that they accidentally gave us to steak fajitas yesterday and we called as soon as we realized and that we would've brought it back yesterday, but we left about 15 minutes away and it was already dark, and that she had our names written down. She then proceeded to tell me that I was lying, but to take the food anyway, in a very rude tone. I'm very disappointed because this is one of our favorite places to eat but we will not be going back. read more

Let's start with two negatives shall we? 1- AC is broken and it's quite warm in this place. 2- They don't have my favorite desert: Flan Now the positives : I had a very nice waitress that gave me all the time to do some work that I needed to finish. It took an hour and a half a 2 Dos X's 22oz. My fajitas were really awesome and tasty, I don't think they can make them any better. I wish there would have been more. Same goes for the retried beans, very tasty and I would have been able to eat more of them. As a substitute for my flan I had a Bahama Mama (I know, it doesn't t make sense, but it tasted great. I have ate at El Toro before and very much enjoyed it. My last visit, I was told they didn't have my favorite dish, the quesadilla El Toro, anymore. After I got my I got my food, the person in the table right next to us got the quesadilla El Toro. Not Happy! Also, our waitress never came back to check on us to see if we wanted more chips and salsa or if we needed a refill. I know this is only one experience but it only takes one to lose a customer. read more

Obviously the people around here don't know what good Mexican food is supposed to taste like. I was staying in the area and I love Mexican food being from Texas. But what I was served I could have made 10 times better myself. Where is the pico de gallo, and actual queso? not cheese dip. Nothing tastes fresh. The basic Mexican food ingredients such as cumin, cilantro, lime, chili pepper all missing from the bland dish. And the margarita was not good. Couldn't put my finger on what made it taste funny. The only thing I could think of is that the people who live in this area prefer the bland food and can't handle the true spiciness of real Mexican food. The staff was nice. I have no complaints about the service. The prices reasonable. I just wouldn't call it Mexican food. read more

This place is so gross and I love Mexican food. For starters, the beef is disgusting. I'm not sure what grade it is, but it has to be poor. It's like a mystery meat. I tried several times to find something that I didn't cringe over when it came out, but I just can't. Secondly, management has always been terrible. The waitress spilled red wine on my friend. We asked to speak to the manager and he would not come out if the kitchen. We waited in him for an hour until I finally went into the kitchen to speak to him. He was not happy. He offered for my friend to leave her top there and they would work to get the stain out. Who does that? But really it's the mystery food that makes it impossible for me to ever go back. read more

We are from a big city out of state and regularly visit the Seneca area because we have family here. The restaurant selection in the area leaves much to be desired!! On this trip we had the opportunity to dine alone and therefore make the restaurant selection....we chose El Toro. The food here is great. We had Pablano Fajitas...the vegis were cooked perfectly and all three meats were delicious. Sadly the salsa was too mild for our tastes, but if you ask they can bring you some spicy stuff they have in the kitchen, and its served with warm chips. The pitcher of margs was very reasonably priced and tasted good. The service was very prompt and polite. We will definitely be back! read more

Haven't been there for quite awhile. Used to be pretty good. Made it following a long period of time between visits. Went there last week during lunch. Ordered a burrito, taco, and enchilada, rice and beans. There was no apparent difference between each of these Mexican specialities regarding the inside. Seasoned beef used In each entree were all exactly the same. Just taco meat. Nothing more added within the enchilada and burrito. That was it. Taco meat.. NOT what I was wanting. They did have a scant bit of enchilada sauce on the enchilada. I was looking for real authentic food. This is not What I received was not. Beans were good. Rice not tasteful. Wait staff courteous. So sorry to post but would like to see improvements. read more
