    Mushroom Swiss burger

So I totally came here as a second choice to a place up the street that ended up being closed...but I am so glad I stopped in! It was also Black Friday so we definitely needed some good fuel after a full day of shopping. From the outside, you can't even really tell it's there unless you're looking for it specifically. But once I stepped inside, I realized it's actually a much bigger place with even a full bar. The service was fast and friendly. For appetizer, I tried the buffalo chicken dip. It was so cheesy and ooey-gooey, and even had...wait for it...pieces of BACON in it! Side note. The menu stated a tri-color tortilla chip, but the chips I received were only one color, the normal color. (Not that it mattered to me at all, just something ironic to mention haha) After the dip, I ordered the Swiss burger which was very juicy and had a good amount of toppings. The fries were a steak-fry cut and seasoned well. Overall, a great find! Broad Street Grille is doing it right!

    Sad and cold flatbread pizza.

I have been to Broad Street Grille a couple of times before and ordered dinner and the food was fairly good and service was friendly - but not a stellar meal nor a truly terrible meal. Today however must have been an off day. I stopped in with friends to sit at the bar for a glass of wine and an appetizer. There were several fruit flies buzzing the bar. I ordered the flatbread pizza on the appetizer menu with tomatoes and onions. The pizza arrived and was cold. The cheese wasn't melted nor were the vegetables toasted. So we sent it back and when it returned it was still the same - cold, anemic and watery. It is unfortunate. The server did his best to try to correct it, so I can't fault the server.

    Regular cheeseburger with fries

The food was decent, but the service wasn't. Our waitress wasn't rude to us, but she made us feel like more of an inconvenience than anything. We both got a cheeseburger and fries and I had asked for a side of ranch, and when she brought the food out it wasn't on the plate. She walked away so fast after putting our food down that i didn't get the chance to ask for it, and the only other time she came back was to put our check on the table. She charged us 50 cents for the ranch we never got, but by the time we got the check we just wanted to leave so we didn't argue it. We had leftovers since the burger was pretty big, and we had to ask her for boxes because she didn't bother to ask us. Pretty fair pricing for the portions you get, maybe I'd come back here if I was in the area, but probably not.

Seriously unimpressed by the service. I walked in and found a booth, my waiter greeted me with a sharp "How many?" as opposed to a proper welcome. I replied with my usual "I'm fine thanks, yourself?" and was barked at with a "Fine, how many?" Instantly lost any hope of a tip. Zero personality. The restaurant itself is blah, clean and nicely painted in shades of brown and tan (oh, let's call them 'earth tones'), assuming one can tell with the dim lighting (which I like, personally). Hoping the food will make up for the crappy waiter; when he came to take my order in an impatient tone, I asked him if he doesn't care for his job. He claims to love it, you could fool me. I also had to ask what the special was. I asked how the burgers are and in his way spoke highly of them. I ordered what they call a Rust-Burger, which if I remember from the menu is just a normal hamburger with normal toppings. Waiting on that as we speak. One point in his favor, he did address me as 'sir' when he asked if I cared for mustard or mayonnaise. The sound of "Family Feud" was bright and clear from the bar so everyone could hear it, want to or not. Food arrived. I asked for medium and it was just right. On the greasy side and had a hint telling me that part of the grill needed cleaning. Burger was made fresh as we're the *generous* fries that appeared to be fresh cut (can't confirm or deny but appeared to be). Couldn't finish the fries, those will probably be in an omelette later. The men's room was bright and clean, plenty of room. Those who saw the movie can finish the sentence, "... the Virgin Mary would be proud to ... " The check was delivered face-up instead of face-down. Yes, I did leave a tip. Don't ask me why. Hopefully it will serve less as a 'tip' and more of a 'hint'.

We walked in 40 min before closing. They were busy which was a good sign. We waited to be seated. It took a little bit to order but we got it in. We then waited and found out the they were out of turkey for my turkey bacon club. We substituted ham for the turkey. We sat a bit longer before the food came out. My sandwich was fine (but the fries weren't seasoned) and my girlfriend's omelet was good. My daughter didn't like the chicken in the chicken Alfredo. The chicken was awfully bland. The staff really seemed intent on leaving as soon as possible. Some left before we were done. We were the next to last customers in the restaurant. The restaurant staff were fairly friendly just focused on the cleaning while we were there eating. We sat there longer because we weren't handed a check. I think we might have a different experience if we walked in earlier in the day. Although it shouldn't matter when you walk in to an open restaurant.

They also serve a variety of craft beers inside their lodge-inspired restaurant. I was able to get there just before the dinner rush on a Sunday and was seated quickly. I was seated at a table that gave me a good view of the restaurant. On this visit, I chose to skip the mains and try some shareables. I started with a bowl of their soup, which had ground beef and cheese and was almost like a chilli. Next up, I tried one of their specialties, the Burning Mussels, made with bacon, peppers, and tomatoes in a garlic-butter and white-wine broth, topped with Asiago and parmesan cheeses and served with garlic toast. The mussels were fresher than I thought they would be, and there is enough broth and ingredients, making the dish very hearty and filling. I finished with the Lamb Lollipops, a trio of three grilled chops, served on a bed of risotto. The lamb was cooked medium-rare like I ordered it and was seasoned just right. The food and ambiance were great, and the servers were friendly, and I had a great meal. The dishes combined made quite a meal and were more than enough for one person. On my next visit, I'll definitely try an entree.

This Burger Bar is located in a strip mall, minutes away from The Grove City Premium Outlets, gas stations, hotels, shops and other restaurants. Blackout can be a very busy place, so be warned, as it caters to a mix of locals, hotel guests and the outlet mall shoppers. Luckily, I went just before the dinner rush on a Saturday and was seated quickly. The menu has a selection of items, including their featured and more popular burgers. You also have the option of building your own burgers, and every table comes with a build-your-own sheet with multiple choices for customizing your burger. I ordered the 'Range Roaming Bison Burger' with bacon cooked to medium well, as you have a choice on how you want your patty cooked. I also ordered a side of their monstrous, massive onion rings that they are also known for. The food came out quickly, and my burger was cooked as I ordered it. The Onons rings were very crispy on the outside and were still hot inside as I got to the inside of them. They also have salads, soups, chilli, featured sandwiches, and apps on the menu. There is a beer menu that has standard and craft beer selections. The Blackout is a very popular spot for beers, burgers, sandwiches and accommodates people of all ages. Overall, a great experience, with good food and good service, and a place I would want to try again.
