Caught them in Long Island City by the Gantry Plaza waterfront area. Solid tacos at reasonable prices ($4 each). Very tasty and filling. Fast and friendly service. Highly recoommended.

Living in the neighborhood I have always walked past this truck and wondered how the tacos were. We finally decided to give it a try couple of weekends ago. We ordered the birria tacos (comes with beef consommé for dipping), chicken tacos and a steak quesadilla. Each bite is packed with flavor that leaves you craving for more. Can't wait to go back for more tacos! Note, they do accept credit card payments (minimum $10).

El Toro Rojo made its Park Ave debut earlier this summer. I finally got a chance to visit the truck this week. I debated between getting a veggie burrito or nachos, but settled on the burrito. I heard the nachos got a bit soggy, so I settled for the former. Burrito was quite filling. It was one of those jumbo burritos. Probably a bit overstuffed and maybe a lot more rice than veggies, but it's a food truck. Can't expect too too much. $10 is a bit on the high end, but that's become somewhat standard now. The benefit is that they accept credit cards so it makes it a lot easier for the cash strapped.

Living in LIC, you're always close to delicious taco places, restaurants therefore it's easier to say what's good and what's not. El toro rojo started parking in front of our building and we decided to give it a try...and WOW! Literally one of the best taco trucks in the area. Their birria tacos are insanely fresh, full of flavor and large in portions. I have tried almost everything now and can attest the below: Tacos: All flavors are yummy, however beware of their al pastor, this is spicier than average. Burritos: Also delish and very large in portions, will fill up anyone Mulitas: Life changing and you can't leave this truck without ordering them, they are basically taco quesadillas that you can dip in a birria juice Their service is also very good and the staff is kind and friendly. I do think they take a bit to serve up your food but I guess perfection takes time? Thanks Toro Rojo for your delish food!

Fast, affordable and delicious - what else can you ask for? Food Steak Taco The taco was good, but without frills - no green sauce or guacamole. I get it, they had to cut costs somewhere and I'd rather it be here than taco quality. AL pastor nachos The nachos were something else. The chips themselves were so crispy despite that they were buried in ingredients. The ingredients, of course, were also great! There was one slightly odd part about it: the cheese. It congealed very quickly and instead of gooey deliciousness I had chewy cheese. It was the coldest day, like ever, so it might've just not really survived the walk back to the office. Will try again! The order was also prepared incredibly quickly I think I my order about 6 minutes after placing it.

Ran into this charming food truck in LIC. Been craving for some authentic Mexican food for sometime so I was pretty excited to see this truck. Ordered quesadilla, 5 soft tacos, fajita bowl and nachos to go. After driving 20 mins, was happy to see that the packaging held up and food was still nice & hot. Overall, food was very tasty and portions were very decent. Carnitas was my favorite but, chicken and steak tacos were not bad either. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu soon!

I finally got to taste these tacos!! My work place provided free food for us from this food truck. I ordered the beef taco.. oh boy were they juicy. The tacos tasted really good and were not spicy as I expected to be- it was good balance of spices.

Really great tacos! The birria (shredded beef) tacos were definitely the standout, but the chicken was also pretty solid too. Loaded up with melted cheese and fried tortillas, the birria tacos were fairly spicy while the chicken were more mild. They got a bit messy so get extra napkins. Definitely would come back again!

Great kitchen quesadillas! I found the truck in Long Island City ( piers ). Totally worth eating. And nice staff!

Love this Taco truck. My husband and I get tacos there once a week when we are lucky enough to have it parked in front of Columbia University on Broadway ( usually at 115 street). Gabriel just refitted the kitchen and redesigned the cool logo so the truck disappeared for two weeks and we realized how much we missed it. Waiting in line one student said she has never had nachos that were that good! My favorite is the al pastor and my husband gets the beef and chicken.

This is a difficult update to my first review since I love their tacos and always rave about them. I've always wanted to try their guacamole, figured it has to be good since their tacos are so deliciously flavorful. Sadly, I was so wrong. Last week my husband and I got the guacamole with the chips and were extremely disappointed. The chip to guacamole ratio was disproportionate, you can see in the picture as well, the bag wasn't even half full of chips. Without even opening the lid we could clearly see that it wasn't authentic Mexican guacamole. It was simply mashed avocados with cilantro, a tiny bit of spice to it and loads of lemon juice. It was bland and sour. The chips were obviously cooked in the same frier and oil as the fish they use for their fish tacos. The smell was obvious and not pleasant and neither was the smell left on our fingers after eating them. They did also taste like fish and we couldn't enjoy them at all and weren't able to finish them. We ended up tossing the chips and taking the guacamole home to fix at home and eat with other food. Just alone it was too hard to eat as it was too sour and lacking in flavor. Very unfortunate. I hope they fix the guacamole order, it would've been great to enjoy often at the park.

It ended up being the best decision we made all night. Emily, our server, was nice, attentive, and took great care of us. The food was just as fresh and delicious as at the taco stand at the QNM. The purple corn tortillas were incredible, the chicken was hot, juicy, and flavorful, the steak was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the mushroom taco. The restaurant has a fun, authentic Mexican vibe with colorful décor, a great playlist that really adds to the atmosphere, and it's honestly a cute spot if you want to snap a few photos. Everything was made fresh, and we'll definitely be back!

Also, the fryin cheese did not suit the soup at all- Oaxaca cheese tastes so much better with this type of soup & this is the only Mexican spot I know that uses something other than Oaxaca cheese. Needless to say, it did not work & rubbery cheese in soup is not it. I thought that maybe the soup from this place was a one off so I also ordered a couple tamales from here on a separate occasion as well. Unfortunately it was not a one off as the tamales were super dry & almost inedible because of that. I won't be returning back. Tamales super dry
