This cafe is Astoria is a cute spot to catch up with a friend on a sunny weekend (which was exactly what I did haha). When I came at ~2pm on a Sunday, it was so busy and there were people sitting outside and inside. The cafe offers some breakfast food on top of their drink options. While I didn't get to try their food, my friend did and it looked amazing. I came wanting to try their pink chai but it was unfortunately out. So, I settled for their regular chai. Maybe it was because they were busy or something but I felt that their chai was very underwhelming. It tasted really watered down and sweet without any of the chai fragrance. Overall, while the vibe was great, I thought that their drinks were okay (or maybe I just had a miss).
I went to try the firni doughnut and the egg sammie sandwich, and both were pretty good! The firni doughnut has cardamom rose filling with sweet glaze and pistachio sprinkles on top which is pretty delicious! Definitely worth trying. I also enjoyed the egg sammie sandwich with bacon which was $4 extra. The sandwich was good, but it's on the pricier side. Worth checking out!
Oh wow, this was our first time visiting this little gem. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Although I didn't get to try the guava pancakes, I heard the guava flavor was spot-on and didn't disappoint. The pancakes were light and fluffy, pairing perfectly with the maple syrup and whipped cream. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was hands down delicious. The tortilla was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside with just the right amount of crunch. The combination of eggs, beans, and salsa was excellent, with each ingredient complementing the others. It was the savory breakfast with a little kick that I was craving. I also heard great things about the iced chocolate, and I was told it was just as delicious. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is charming. It's easy to see why it's so popular - it stayed busy the entire time we were there. The only minor drawback is that it's a cozy space with limited seating. During the morning rush, guests waiting to order or pick up their food naturally spilled into the dining area, making it feel a bit crowded at times. We couldn't help but think how wonderful outdoor seating would be - it would make an already lovely spot even better. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it's conveniently located just a short walk from the N train at the 36th Avenue station.
We came on the weekend and there was a line out the door. The line moved quickly, but it was a bit of a struggle to get a seat. We were able to get a table and wanted our food on plates, but they said they ran out of plates so they put the food in to go containers. The coffee and food was good, but the overall vibe was loud and chaotic because of the number of people standing around and waiting to order or waiting for their order. My friend did not like the matcha. Service was slow to get our food and then it also took awhile for us to get utensils.
This place is small on the inside, but it's amazing. The food was so good! My husband and I split the lumberjack breakfast and it was more than enough for two people. It came with pancakes, eggs, toast, hash browns, avocado, salsa.. I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the toppings. We also got an almond croissant and some sort of muffin cinnamon roll with a citrus flavor on the inside. This is absolutely a place to come back to!
Such a cozy little corner Cafe! I wanted a good breakfast and iced Americano, and ended up ordering the Breakfast Burrito with lamb sausage as well as Raspberry Danish. The burrito really gets elevated when you order it with some protein. The lamb sausage is halal and it is spiced up with delicious earthy flavors. It's worth getting even though it's an added $4. The Danish, however, is my real favorite. The Raspberry jam is delicious and there is soft, creamy cheese inside. The Danish is baked perfectly, balancing the fluffiness and chewiness. Space is tight and there are not too many tables and chairs, but if the weather is as nice as today, outside is just as pleasant as inside. I'll definitely come back to explore more of the menu. Finally, everyone is just so friendly here, it is quite comforting. It can be a little lively because of the small space but I was able to read through a script while having my breakfast just fine.

Unfortunately, we were too late and missed their famous firni donuts -- inshallah next time The breakfast sandwich was delicious, and the chicken sandwich was perfectly balanced -- the gochujang and coleslaw worked so well together, and the bun-to-chicken ratio was on point. I also didn't expect the short rib sandwich to be as good as it was, but it really surprised me. The coffee was good. The pink tea though was just eh -- it tasted artificial, kind of perfumey, and overly sweet, not like real authentic Kashmiri chai. Overall though, I'd definitely go back.

We ended up getting the short rib sandwich which was so good, the meat was really tender and flavorful. We also got the pink tea - it was a little on the sweeter side, but still really good and I'd get that again. Overall a great spot for a good quick bite - will def come back earlier to try to snag the firni donut!

What a wonderful little spot with a BIG fan following! We stopped by for coffee and breakfast on a Friday, and were happy to see a line out the door (well deserved!). Their service is outstanding - everyone who works there is so kind. Their menu has a big variety including plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. Their coffee is great, and their avocado toast was one of the best I've ever had. My only regret is that I did not get a pastry too - they look insanely good. They have a decent amount of seating for their size, and it is first-come first-served. Absolutely worth the stop if you're in the area!
I ate here before and can't believe I haven't raved about it yet! This time I had a breakfast burrito. It was chock full of breakfast goodness and toasted to perfection. It was so big I couldn't even finish it. It had scrambled eggs, salsa, onions, cheese, tomatoes, all the breakfast goodness and I added bacon for a slight upcharge. Magnificent! They are cooking up everything fresh so there's a little wait but it's worth it . I've had the avocado toast before and it is the best! They don't skimp on anything here. And their coffee is delicious. They have tables inside or you can take it to go and sit in the park nearby. Super nice staff too!
Stopped by on a Friday morning to fully occupied tables and a line to order. Don't let the crowd deter you because the coffee and Firni donut are worth it. They brew the amazing Sey coffee beans. I got a hot latte with almond milk which was probably a barista blend because it had a very nutty flavor - I like it, it's different. I would come back for their donut alone. I honestly don't know the exact ingredients because there wasn't a description. It was topped with pistachios with a sweet glaze. The filling is light and foamy. It had notes of olive oil and cardamom. Overall, a great local cafe to pick up quality coffee and food.
The food was incredible! I got a few things based off of recommendations and can't say enough great things. The short rib packed so much flavor and the onions complimented it so well. The were out of some pastries so we got a cinnamon roll that was suggested by a staff member- it was so fluffy and delicious. Sweet but well balanced. The pink chai was refreshing and had a strong floral taste that I loved. The set is small and intimate but very lovely if you can find a spot to sit.

First time going to this little restaurant. I went for my friend's birthday brunch and I ordered the guava pancakes. The pancakes were delicious, they were light and fluffy and the buttercream added a nice touch to them. The guava flavor paired well with the pancakes. My friends and I noticed that the place gets really full but seems to clear out around 1pm on weekdays. There is a bathroom available all the way in the back which is nice. The workers were friendly, overall great experience. I will definitely be back. read more

Came by this spot hearing it was one of Mamdanis favorite places. Although there was nothing out of the ordinary for their coffee for me their food was A+. We got the breakfast burrito (w/ lamb sausage) and short rib sandwich. Maybe regular NYs are used to this quality of food but I was blown away by the combinations of flavors. If I was forced to critique one thing I wish the bread for the sandwich came out more toasted (but it being wrapped for a to-go order I can understand). If I lived in Astoria this would def be one of my regular spots. read more

Pleased to see they use Sey Coffee which is some of the best coffee in the entire city, so the coffee will not disappoint. Really what I cam here for, though, were the pastries, which also did not disappoint. The pistachio donut was something special, as well as the cardamom bun. They were freshly made, and you can tell the place puts in a ton of effort into their baked goods as many people are coming here for their pastries, some of which ran out by noon! Bits of vanilla bean decorated this fresh donut filling and there was a wonderful lightly sweet glaze on top and crumbly pistachio bits. The cardamom bun was also quite special, and had layers circumferentially upon itself like a cinnamon roll does, but has a tougher exterior which was enjoyable to bite into, and a nice, perfectly sweet frosting on top! The breakfast sandwich was good, though didn't stand out as much. Would definitely come back though to try the rest of their pastries and have more amazing coffee! read more

A trusted friend brought me here for brunch. The pink tea, beef bacon maple swirl, and almond croissant were excellent. The pink tea will especially bring me back. Service was great too. There wasn't a ton of seating and it is very popular, so don't plan to consume your food here. read more
Let's just start off by saying these were the best sandwiches I've had in a VERY LONG TIME! Ordered the short rib and the sammie (BEC) and my goodness they were so good. Juicy, filling, hot, fresh, flavorful and finger licking good. Honestly just pull up and see for yourself! read more
Ordered: Iced Latte (~$5.50) with rose syrup (50¢) and oat milk Firni Donut (~$6) Guava Pancakes (~$12): homemade guava glaze, homemade whipped cream, maple syrup, and butter Aya's take: Found myself back at Little Flower and it's so good to see they're doing well in business. The Iced Latte with rose syrup & oat milk was just as good as last time - but it was a bummer that their cups no longer say "Little Flower" on it. They were so cute! I got to try the Firni Donut. Firni is an Afghan dessert but I've never seen it in donut form. It was creamy and mildly sweet from the milk & sugar and the donut was soft and delicate. The Guava Pancakes were a good try and if I'm being honest, my favorite part was the homemade whipped cream. Do I see & taste real vanilla bean!? Hell yes! The guava glaze was mostly palatable when I tried it on its own but definitely gets lost in a bite with everything else. The pancakes are pretty thin which I personally liked but if you're looking for thicker, more cakey pancakes, this might not be the dish for you. We wanted to stay longer to just chill & read but it got super busy and chaotic that we decided to leave after finishing up. Still one of the best cafes in Astoria! read more

I came with friends in the morning for brunch on July 4th. Surprisingly there's already a line outside of the door waiting to place order. The place is small with only a few tables and very noisy when it's getting crowded. The food is amazing. Egg sandwich with bacon is highly recommended. The egg is so fluffy and tasty. Short ribs sandwich is not bad either, but the sauces and arugula flavor overpowered the ribs. Remember to add cardamon syrup to the drinks, it makes a big difference. The furni donuts are sold out quickly. Unfortunately we have to try next time. Come before 11 am if you wanna grab one. read more
Obsessed with this place. First of all, it's a coffee shop that serves food. Secondly, it's not located in Manhattan and thus not grossly overpriced. Finally, everything I tried was pretty awesome. My boyfriend and I biked over on a Sunday morning at 9:50 AM and got a table with no trouble, though it was packed for the rest of the time we were there. I tried: + Guava pancake - perfect, haven't had one of these since I was in Hawaii and I loved it + iced pink tea - excellent + Espresso - perfect + breakfast burrito - really good + Tumeric bun - absolute best thing, get this + Cardamom knot - perfect Will get the Firni doughnut and more coffee next time (they brew Sey. What a Gem This is a small local neighborhood cafe nestled in Astoria, close to train station (36 Ave, NW train). Sitting at the corner of the block, its welcoming vibe attracts you inside. The cozy space is brightly lit with natural light from its large windows, with cozy seatings lining up the windows. Decor is clean chic minimalist but with warm tones; staff here even warmer and friendly. I tried the Oat Latte for stay (they serve in ceramic cup by Famiware, and Oatly milk). I've been trying to cut down microplastic consumption so this was important to me as well as Oatly (haven't found any other oat milk that taste better, although I know about the oil). Moving on to the pastries yum! Tried their Firini Donut with custard center and pistachio topping + strawberry danish. They have seasonal fruit danish, right now apple, blueberry and strawberry. They were delish, I don't like my danish overly sweet and they were sweet but not overly sweet. I was also craving for eggs! And they accommodated and let me order a side of scrambled eggs which were sooo good. Visiting cafe is such a trip for me, especially when the space is warm and inviting, with great staff and this is a must visit if you are nearby; totally worth the trekking over to Astoria. Still a great cafe! Now I always get the pink drink, it's very rose-y. I've had it both iced and hot, and prefer it hot. You can adjust the sweetness level too which is great. They haven't had the cardamom bun (def my fav) the last few times I've gone :( the turmeric bun was ok - I didn't get any strong flavors of turmeric so it was just a sweet bun. I primarily wanted to update that they do not have wifi! So not a place to do work, but still a good place to read or catch up with friends. It can get very busy in the late morning (10-12). read more

The perfect balance of rose syrup to cardamom filling in a wonderful brioche donut. No notes (except I wish it were bigger). I was in on a weekday morning and the place was full of people reading, working, and chatting and the tables were full - their smaller amount of seating is something to keep in mind if you're coming at a peak time. read more
Little Flower is such a sweet little gem. I was immediately greeted by sweetness from Morgan. She was super helpful with deciding on drinks and food. I went for the iced matcha and guava pancakes. The pancakes were divine! Very special with the guava drizzle on top and homemade whipped cream. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and soft. Also love that their matcha was ceremonial grade! Definitely would recommend going for the pancakes themselves. Also, very nice to have good staff and a comfy environment! 10/10 read more
Food: both the burrito and pancakes were delicious. Not 100% sure if the value was worth it but we wanted to try it out. Nothing to complain about. Stopped by because of my friend's recommendation. Had a matcha latte - perfectly made! Very friendly barista and cute atmosphere with lots of seating. Clean ambiance. Matcha was made immediately. Nice place to sit in the AC on a hot day. I would say only downsides are typical city prices ($7 matcha) and they close at 4pm Tuesday/Wednesday. Otherwise very cute cafe! read more
I wish the cashier asked us if we wanted our food to stay or to go... they ended up packing our order as to go, even though we got seats. Overall the food was pretty good for a local cafe on the corner. The bun and egg on the breakfast sandwich was soft. The pancakes were not bad either. read more

We stopped in based on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. It is an all-day halal cafe. On a rainy Sunday morning and it was so crowded. There are only 5- 6 tables for 2 and the line was long. The pistachio donut was so good. It was filled with a pastry cream that had a bit of spice and floral flavor and topped with pistachios. We also had the chocolate croissant... so big, flaky and chocolatey. We split the breakfast burrito with Halal bacon and it was so good. It was stressful waiting for a table, but by the time our food arrived we were able to get a table and enjoy our breakfast. Would highly recommend. read more
