In addition, they have sitting in the covered exterior where there is also access to the Restroom. I'm pretty much addicted to their Cafe au latte and the Berry Napoleon!! So delicious!! There Banana and chocolate chip Bread pudding is also a definite winner! I highly recommend going during early evening hours. You have a better chance at scoring a table and not waiting for a table. Charming little dessert spot with a cozy vibe. So many sweet temptations all around, it was hard to choose a dessert to try. I ended up getting a slice of Tiramisu and one slice of lemon meringue. Both were excellent, but the tiramisu was wonderful. You could definitely taste the coffee in it, and it was rich and decadent. They also offer coffee drinks, but given the recent brutal NYC winter cold, I wanted a hot chocolate instead, which was exactly the warm and comforting drink I needed. AWARENESS I stopped at Martha's Country Bakery, 36-21 Ditmars Blvd., Astoria, NY, for a simple takeout order. My receipt totaled $20.69, and I crossed out the gratuity line. The only reason I caught what happened next was because I had to submit the receipt for a work expense report. That's when I noticed my company's credit card had actually been charged $25.69. The cashier listed on my receipt was Rajna.... Yes everyone should be aware of her poor actions and poor judgement! Whether it's $5 or $50, adding a charge a customer didn't authorize is unacceptable. It breaks the trust of the very locals and regular customers who support a business every day. Cramped seating with mediocre desserts. We had the cheesecake, fudge cake, and stuffed peanut butter cookie. The best by far was the stuffed peanut butter cookie. It was served warm with lots of gooey peanut butter in the center. It was pretty good! The fudge cake was dry and stiff like it was sitting in the case for a week. The frosting was good though. By far one of the best bakeries I've been to. Any pastry or baked good you can think of, they have it. Everything is freshly made and you can taste the amazing quality in each bite. I've been to a couple locations now and they've all been consistently delectable. The options are a bit overwhelmingly, you just want one of everything really. Everything is decently priced. It's a cute lively bakery that can get busy, but they have a lot of people working so you can usually grab what you want fairly quick. After lunch down the street, we decided to pick up some dessert and a hot beverage to go. This bakery is really good for that. We decided on a piece of Black Forest Cake and a Blueberry Key Lime Cheesecake bar with Matcha Lattes. Everything was heavenly and really hit the "sweet" spot!! Martha's Bakery is always a hit! Whether you go early or later in the day they are always busy. I have been here multiple times and love it. Last night I got their classic strawberry cheesecake , a berry Napoleon cake and a large chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream on top (don't forget to ask for the cookie to be warmed up ). The cheesecake was a solid 8 rating, the chocolate chip cookie was also an 8 as well but the Napoleon cake was a 10! Yum yum yum , everything was great. My mom got the cappuccino and it was great too. If you're coming here by car, pro tip: have someone from your party get out and give their name to join the wait list while you park. This location was super cute. My friend researched this place while we were in the city and I can't turn down a sweet treat. This place was nice because the service seemed like a sit down restaurant, you check in and you are seated. You have the waiter take your order and they bring it out. DO NOT ORDER CAKES FROM THIS LOCATION. I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with a birthday cake order at the Astoria location of Martha's Country Bakery. I placed a phone order in the early afternoon for a custom birthday cake, provided my name, phone number, message, and paid $67 over the phone for an evening pickup. About 2.5 hours later, I called to see if I could pick it up earlier and was told there was NO RECORD of my order, despite my payment having already been processed. Had I not called back, I would have never known.  I was then asked to email proof of payment and repeat my entire order. During this call, the employee stated that this type of issue "happens often," and continued to blame the "morning shift." I was also told the manager was present and listening, but they never stepped in to address or resolve the situation. When I arrived to pick up the cake, the issues continued. The name on the cake was spelled incorrectly, despite me having clearly spelled it out multiple times across both phone calls. When I pointed it out, I was told to wait while they "verified" the spelling with the same staff member I had already repeated it to several times. At that point, it was extremely frustrating to be questioned on information I had already provided repeatedly, especially after they had already admitted to not submitting my original order but took my payment. After correcting it, the cake looked visibly messy where the frosting had been redone. What made this experience worse was the attitude from staff. When I expressed my frustration, I was told I had an "attitude," and staff raised their voices at me. At no point did anyone take accountability for the multiple errors, and the manager never came out to address the situation. This was not a minor mistake. This was a complete breakdown in basic order handling and customer service: - A paid order was never submitted - I was required to resubmit all information- I was required to show proof of my original payment - Staff admitted this happens frequently- The order was still completed incorrectly - Staff then became confrontational instead of resolving the issue  Blaming the "morning shift" does not excuse the situation, it reflects a larger management failure, also noted by the lack of manager present. If this is a known, repeated issue, it should have been addressed long ago. Customers should not be paying the price for internal mismanagement. This was for a birthday, and what should have been a simple and meaningful purchase turned into a stressful and disappointing experience. I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend others avoid placing cake orders at this location. I hope management takes this seriously, as this experience reflects very poorly on the business, especially given that staff openly acknowledged this is an ongoing issue. read more

The place isn't too big, but we were able to find a table right away. The amount of pasties in this place is insane, from the beautiful cakes to slices to a coffee bar it's a beautiful spot. My only issue I had was the height of the displays. I felt so bad for the girl in the back of the counter as we are both pretty short so conversing between the equipment was quite hard. Wish they were a little lower.
