No club soda? How do you make drinks? The poor server just repeated what the bartender told her. That made no sense. We ordered the made to order guacamole. It tasted good. Could have used a squeeze of lime and salt. It was very chunky. I smashed the avocado so it mixed with all the rest of the vegetables. It was still chunky. I've had better Our server was sweet but never offered us refills. She gave us the local lowdown about the Cinco de Mayo crowd the night before. I had the tamale and it tasted better than I expected. I'd order it again. The super burrito was what was expected. Nothing above any other place. An enjoyable dinner in spite of the fact we didn't get the simple drink. Great for vegetarian food! The cheese enchiladas are a good comfort food, the sauce is delicious! I need their enchilada sauce recipe. The veggie quesadilla is AMAZING! So many veggies and lots of flavor. The chicken is lacking, did not have a good experience with the chicken here. Don't forget their queso and a side of grilled jalapeños! Boy the amount of times I've been here, and the amount of times i left satisfied. The food is great, me personally, i usually get burritos because they taste great, but the quesadillas, fajitas, flan they're also great choices, the cheese dip, oh i can't even describe it. Restrooms are usually clean, the service is good, the people are nice, sure if you go as a group your food might take a bit to get there but so is the case with many restaurants. 10/10 read more

So we were looking forward to this new Mexican restaurant to open. Couldn't get in on Friday night so we came here for lunch on Saturday. The inside is very nice and clean (should be as it is brand new). Service was nice and friendly. Now for the food. The salsa is weak. It had very little to no flavor at all and there was zero heat (spice) to it; chips were straight from the bag. The food was ok not a lot of flavor. This was the worst meal I've had in years. I ordered the steak fajita salad and my son ordered a combination consisting of a chicken quesadilla and a beef burrito. The food did not even look appetizing. My son's quesadilla had huge pieces of chicken breast not shredded or chopped and the chicken was tough. There was no seasoning on the food whatsoever. Both of us ended up using the salsa on the table to try to add flavor. The beef burrito was so unappetizing my 18 year old college student, who is usually a big eater, wouldn't even try one bite. My salad was awful. Again, no salt and pepper was used in the preparation of the steak, peppers and onions that topped my salad. The steak was tough and barely edible. Some pieces were so charred they looked (and tasted) like charcoal. After heavily salting and peppering my food, dumping copious amounts of salsa on it and ordering a side of sour cream, I was able to eat roughly half of this abhorrent meal. Our server was nice enough, but she spent more time chatting up her bar patrons than noticing that we had long finished eating and my credit card sat on the table for a good ten minutes before she came over. We will not be back. Taco Bell has better Mexican food. We will not be back. read more

This is one of the best experiences I've had eating at a heavenly Mexican restaurant. The food was very very extremely high quality, and the steak was cooked medium-rare and excellently season. The main annoyance for me on this trip was that there was uh. not any beer on draft. I really enjoy getting pitchers.. - and shit with my bros. The lack of any beer on draft did greatly impact my experience here. They fixed the bad experience with the excellent service. This Mexican restaurant has excellent seasonings or something great that really accentuates the flavor of the food. The overall atmosphere was enjoyable, reminding me of undergoing military training for the SEAL team back in China. You could tell that every staff member whole heartedly put their whole heart into making my nice entree and their practice in the kitchen whippin it up definitely paid off. I've never had such an enjoyable and magical experience eating such luxurious food. Trust, you have to try this place. I don't think I'll ever ever presumptuously judge a restaurant again. This experience was amazing. I almost wrote off this super nice restaurant just because I was so used to going to international quality restaurants. At El Vaquero, I ordered a burrito that had nothing but ground beef spiced with too much salt, covered with tomato sauce that made the uncooked tortilla soggy. I also ordered a chili relleno, that I couldn't even recognize. It tasted, again, like too much salt, ground beef, and cheese. I even ordered an hotdog. Me and a good buddy of mine ventured to this establishment as of late, and we really couldn't have been more satisfied. The only reason I do not give this restaurant five stars is that they do not have any beer on draft. Me and my family drink alcohol daily and this is something that caused me to be taken aback. This place truly did redeem themselves with the excellent service and great food. I tried the tacos Al pastor and it was better than even the most authentic food truck down in El Paso could cook you. This place is great and if you're okay with drinking cerveza from the bottle you should have no qualms with it. I served in secret military operations under the Reagan administration in the mid 1980s and the food here was even better than that of the Central American nations that me and my pals infiltrated -- and that is really saying something!! Chips were fresh salsa was a bit bland I added a quarter of the pepper shaker to it. My food item was the combination fajita with shrimp chicken and beef. I asked if it could be made spicy they added jalapeños to spice it up but I could not taste them. Margarita tasted good. I probably would try somewhere else next time I'm in the area. read more

I am a huge fan of this place. I have never had a bad experience here over many years. Today was no different. My wife had chili con carne and I had the nachos especiales. My food was not amazing, but it was good as always. I usually get the chimichanga with ground beef and it is always excellent. It has a layer of cheese and the tortilla is crisp and fluffy. The nachos had everything on it today. The guacamole was up to par. I personally wish it had thicker jalapenos and some more sour cream, but it was good. The chips and salsa were outstanding as usual. The waiter kept the chips fresh and the salsa flowing. We never wanted for anything. I do not even think our drinks ever made it halfway without a refill and the waiter was always polite. That is pretty typical of the service here though. They are usually very attentive and friendly. This is an all around great place to eat with reasonable prices. The only bad part is the location. The shopping center is really dingy, but I will not fault the restaurant. It is a gem in the rough.
