The waits were a tad excessive. While we were seated instantly, it was restaurant week on a Friday night. Clearly a busy time. We started with the chips and queso and azteca soup. We then moved on to the massive burritos in chicken and steaks covered in queso it was a bit hard to tell which was which at first caused us to be playing musical plates. The entries were well cooked. We ended with the flan dessert. A wonderfully fresh and creamy version.

Super clean, friendly and always extremely tasty! Waitstaff was very friendly and super quick. We came in for happy hour and was very impressed. Drinks came out extremely fast and our waiter was able to help our kiddo with His dinner choice. Chicken and rice everytime! Food came out super hot and was delicious. We were super impressed on how clean the entire restaurant was. Everything and everyone was on top of everything. From cleaning off tables right away to wrapping down menus. The place was not only sparking clean but absolutely delicious! Update ordered during "Stay at home" Wow just wow! We were looking for something local to order take out for date night. And this could not have been a better choice! Food was super hot and amazingly delicious! Came in super quick after we ordered. It was soooo much food. Looking forward to ordering out here again while we are still in "stay at home" 34. Molcajete Ranchero 37. Pollo a la Diabla

We love coming into this restaurant as you can see from the multiple photos taken here! Since the restaurant is closed to patrons eating in we decided to get take out! We were so pumped to see our favorite dishes come in sustainable packaging that we could use again. The food is always amazing and if you want to get something to share between two people make sure you check out the Molcajete Ranchero. It has chicken, chorizo, steak, shrimp, squash, zucchini, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and some of the best sauce you can taste. There is so much in this dish that it is easily shared between a couple of people for sure. The Pollo a la Diabla was a new dish for us and it was pretty awesome as well. The sauce is sweet at first and then there is a nice heat as you go for the second bite. We are definitely going to get this combo again!

Ordered pick three combo beef taco chicken quesadilla and chicken burrito. All was cold and soggy. Taco fell apart picking it up, half way into eating it noticed RAW meat. That was enough to throw the rest of the order away, will never eat here again

I thought quesadillas were supposed to be a little bit cooked and crispy? Not this one!

To put it plainly, Taco Bell makes a better chicken quesadilla than this restaurant. I ordered two chicken quesadillas from here and they arrived hardly cooked and in pathetic condition. I would be embarrassed to have this make it out of the kitchen.

Great service from Guadalupe and the food was awesome too.. came out super fast and everything was exactly as ordered! Terrific happy hour specials even on a weekend which is something to keep coming back for..this location never disappoints.. oh and best chicken quesadilla in town!

The greeter, waitress and table runner were welcoming and prompt during the weekday lunch service. The chips and salsa were fine; neither part wowed. But my El Tapatío plate was a good merging of chicken, chorizo, and pineapple. The rice and guacamole salad played their supporting roles well. Ordering from the lunch menu provided a nice value. With this place being close to work, it just may have earned itself a happy hour visit.

Me and my wife were born in San Antonio, so it's safe to say we know what good Mexican food is about. Need to start with how clean this place is. Huge points in my book for a facility having a clean environment. The server (Stephanie) was awesome, very nice, very sociable, quick to take care of the patrons. The salsa was very delicious, chips were good as well. The guac dip is something that restaurants don't seem to get sometimes, this is some good old school recipe guac dip here. I'm a sucker for fish tacos, whether it's tilapia, or cod, or even shrimp. These fish tacos were spot on, fair amount of fish, tortillas were very good, and the sauce was off to the side as I like. Love the crunch that the fried tilapia had to it, no complaints. My wife enjoyed the Tacos de Birria, and this is sometimes where people fail, with over cooking the beef. Not these, the beef was very tender, I had to sneak a piece of my wife's taco. The beans were great, the rice was great, just like back home. No question in my mind, I will bring my folks here when they come up to visit. My mom is originally from Monterrey, Mexico, and I know she would enjoy this spot. If your craving some authentic Mexican food, definitely make this a family night and enjoy the good. You can tell there is passion that goes into this food, and no doubt, we'll be coming back for more.

Spicing Things Up at La Fogata Grill: A Mexican Food Adventure…read more If you're anything like me, a former chef turned travel blogger with a serious soft spot for bold flavors and authentic eats, then you know the thrill of discovering a hidden gem that delivers the real deal. That's exactly what I found at La Fogata Grill, a vibrant Mexican restaurant that's all about sizzling plates, warm hospitality, and the kind of margaritas that make you forget your to-do list. First Impressions: Color, Culture & Comfort From the moment you walk into La Fogata Grill, you're greeted with the inviting scent of sizzling fajitas, fresh cilantro, and slow-roasted meats. The colorful décor, traditional art, and festive vibe set the tone for a fun and flavorful experience. Whether you're coming for Taco Tuesday, date night, or a family dinner, the atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming. The Menu: A Tour of Mexico on a Plate Let's talk food -- because at La Fogata, the menu is a love letter to Mexican cuisine. I started with the fresh guacamole, made tableside and customized to your spice level (pro tip: ask for extra lime and jalapeño if you like a kick). The street tacos are the real deal -- I had the carnitas and barbacoa, each packed with tender meat and wrapped in warm, house-made corn tortillas. Their mole poblano is rich and deeply flavorful, a nod to authentic Mexican culinary traditions, and the chile relleno came out golden-crisp with a creamy cheese filling and perfectly spiced tomato sauce. My wife went for the enchiladas verdes, and let's just say there wasn't a crumb left on her plate. Don't Skip the Sips No trip to La Fogata Grill is complete without a drink in hand. Their margarita game is strong -- from classic lime on the rocks to frozen mango chili and even jalapeño-infused for those feeling adventurous. There's also a wide selection of tequilas and Mexican beers if you're in the mood to sample more. Save Room for Dessert If you've got a sweet tooth like me, the churros with chocolate sauce or the decadent flan will seal the deal. And yes, I ordered both -- for research purposes, of course. Final Thoughts: Worth the Trip La Fogata Grill isn't just a restaurant -- it's a destination for anyone who craves bold flavors and good vibes. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is always delivered with a smile. Whether you're a local or passing through, it's a stop worth making. Take the trip. Order the tacos. Live a little.
