The service and customer service has really gone down the drain. I ordered less than $70 worth of food over the phone to be asked for a credit card number and billing codes. After saying I've been showing Bells Restaurant support as a resident they say fine come in 45 minutes and when I do show up and pay , they barely start making the order. So what's the point of ordering ahead. So now after waiting an additional 30 minutes. It's sad but now to find a new spot. Don't support this business for the poor attitude. read more

Came to fulfill my craving for pupusas. Ordered 1 revuelta and 2 frijol con queso. Young lady that took my order said about 15 min wait. 25 minutes passed & asked where's my order. Mind you the cooks and servers were too busy chit chatting & I politely asked about my order. Same young that took my order stated "it's here and i am packing it." But didn't start packing it until I asked and was sitting there in the warmer for a bit. I get home my daughter starts eating the revuelta and says, "mom that's only cheese." I decide to call the business to complain that they messed up my order & gave me a cheese pupusa instead of revuelta. The young lady that answered the phone proceeded to say that due to previous customer complaints they don't put alot of "chicarrón." Ummm, if i am paying for a revuelta why are you giving me all cheese? You can't go based on customer's complaints of "too much" chicharrón and literally put none. Help me make sense?! I explained to her that I paid for revuelta therefore expect revuelta NOT cheese. She stated they would make a new one & at this point I asked for a refund. She asked me to take the uneaten pupusa and they would give me a refund. I said, "the pupusa was eaten due to being hungry and there was no way I can take it." Young Lady said, "well if you didn't like it that means you didn't eat it." I replied, "i never stated i didn't like it, i am calling to make you aware you didn't give me what i ordered."She said, "we'll give you a refund. I have alot of customers & then hung up on me." I've been here maybe 8 or 10 times now and every single time I've gone it has seemed like I was an inconvenience when I ordered. I thought maybe it was the cashier(s) but after reading other reviews I think it's just the overall culture of the place. I ordered dinner for my family last time, six Pupusas and some sides, and they didn't even bother with the cabbage and sauce. The pupusas are good as is the rice & beans but it's definitely not the only place in SG/HP to get Salvadoran food. Horrible! As soon as I got there, the menu was a bit confusing because they were offering meal combos that were not on the menu. We got our pupusas first and the appetizer came after we finished the pupusas. That was disappointing and all backward. The ambiance was too loud for me. The service was okay. My son wanted more salad and he had to walk to the counter because he couldn't get the waitress's attention. She didn't give it to him instead she brought it to our table with a bit of an attitude. Since my original visit, I have come to the conclusion that this is the best spot for pupusas. Why? Because if you ask they'll make a revuelta pupusa with beans in them. Most places will give you a revuelta with just pork and cheese but I'm Mexican so I need beans in there. They now have two versions of their salsa the regular mild spicy one and the 'hot' spicy one as noted by the redder color of the sauce the spicy one will probably give the meal more kick but either one is good. I also highly recommend to order a plate of fried bananas when it comes out make sure to dip beans on one side and cream on the other and eat it that way it really brings out the flavors of the banana. I've been bringing my friends and they like it too. Just a quick note: Horchata here comes mixed with chocolate that's just how they do it in El Salvador so don't get weirded out by it. read more

The person I ordered my meal from had a serious case of stank face almost like she didn't want to be at work, I understand if you've had a rough day but when you're the first person a customer sees have a happy face. The pupusa itself was pretty good, but wasn't well stuffed like I'm used to at other Salvadorian places I've visited felt like it was more masa. The horchata was a big time disappointment I can definetly say I'd had better. The real treat was the platanos which were delicious! Sadly though the eggs that come with the order had no flavor (a pinch of salt would've made a difference) I asked for sunny side up & they were cooked all the way through & I wanted the yolk to be runny that's why I asked for sunny side up otherwise I would've asked for them scrambled. The beans were very good as well, but there wasn't enough of them. They came served in a small container similar size to the crema (cream) as you can see in the pic provided. This business has been around for a while. They were closed for a while for renovations, they just recently reopened. The pupusas and pastelitos are very delicious (that's all I ever order). There's a lady in the back making the pupusas as you order. However, I guess due to reopening they have been short on staff. When I walked in I noticed that were several tables (like 6) that had not been cleaned. There were still dirty dishes and empty cups on them. My Dad and I could not find a place to sit even though there were tables available. The lady at the front that took our order wasn't very welcoming and friendly.
