If you are familiar with the industry: she got a better booking that would make her more money and waited last minute to try and force my daughter's appoint to 10 hours before her event. And she's a bad liar...you know the type: they ramble, they over explain, etc. Simply put: she does business dirty. Unless you have a wedding with a large party that will make her more money she won't be loyal to your booking. Lastly, it took over 12 hours from the time it was confirmed I would not be using her, a venmo request, and a text to get my deposit refunded while I scrambled to find a replacement. We booked someone who came in on their birthday weekend when she heard what happened. My daughter looked STUNNING. Girl, bye. Have the life you deserve. Does dirty business.

I think I texted her on a Friday for a Sunday afternoon appointment as I wanted to treat my mom to get her makeup done for a wedding we were attending as guests. Nathaly primarily (only?) works out of her studio in West Covina, so she won't be able to travel to you, but that worked out fine for us as we lived close by. Her studio has just enough natural light, was kept well-air conditioned, and very clean. I appreciate that she didn't rush and stopped periodically while doing your makeup to make sure she was meeting what you were looking for. I've had makeup artists look at my reference photos and give me something completely different, so I felt very heard and respected in my wishes. My mom does not wear makeup (like ever) and English isn't her first language, but Nathaly was really friendly and still made her feel very comfortable as she was doing her makeup. She made sure my mom was able to get the coverage/look she wanted while not overdoing it and she hit it out of the park! Lastly, her prices were very reasonable and transparent! I like that she publicizes her pricing so you know ahead of time vs having to reach out and ask. I don't have many events to warrant getting my makeup done, but would recommend her to anyone looking for it!

The reasons I adore Mac are because I love all their brushes, ALL of them. I have multiples of all…read moretheir brushes. I love their Contour stick- it's the difference between heaven and "h311 no". First apply the contour stick to your cheek bones- not like Rouge, which goes on your cheeks in an upward motion toward your forehead and/or ears. Apply the contour also to your forehead on the two sides of it- just a sumimple, easy-handed that should be no longer than this: ____ on each side of the near end of your forehead, do the exact same to your chin- nnear your ear, but not too near, on each side. Then, you are able to use eitger oowder (compact) or your wet concealer. You need to make sure you blend the contour rather quickly after the Contour is on since it dries fast. Take a makeup right triangular pad and push to the sides of where you applied it- it will shine through no matter what. Once you have blended, make sure you use concealer ( doesn't look cakey). My opinion, but of course you may use compact. Use the big size paint brush to make sure you blend in your chin, nose, forehead, cheeks and even neck. Then use the medium or large sized feather brush, in circles around your entire fqce- looks picture perfect so far. Appky blush/ rouge to your cheeks, pretty heavily at night and blend a lip gloss and up to two different blush colors. With a dry hand push gently on the blush towards your upper face. Never ever brush any makeup down - pwe aren't getting any younger. After that, do any adjusting, such as if you rather use a brush to apply your eyebrows, especially if you have had Micro-Blading that was dark and thick and beautiful for the first year, use with a tiny tip brush or Q-Tip to get rid of your brows. Wait 10 minutes in between re-applying because it must dry before you do your second and third coat. Apply your eyebrows with a non-slanted brush for best results. Then, do what you like as far as color and thickness. Apply a popping pibk or red depending on your features, at night or a very pretty but light shade of your choosing. Apply eyeliner, but prior you may want to use an eyelash curler twice per eye, then eyeliner and if you are artistic with makeup or going to a rave, draw with a thick bright colored shadow stick- use it to emphasize color either on your top or bottom eyes or both. If you want, you can use the style stay spray- I don't, but I have it. studio fix is excellent and don't forget the sparkles that they sell to your chest and around.

So when I was invited to attend an black and white event, I gave MAC a shot to do my make up. Sam was my make up artist. She was so accomodating and professional. She explained everything she was doing and she was definitely efficient! I loved how everything turned out at the end and I wouldn't hesitate asking for her again! I now use their browliner, mascara, aside from their eye shadow palette. I also liked their lip gloss selection. On pageant day, she did not just do my makeup. She transformed me. She knew exactly how to accentuate my features while still allowing me to look like the most elevated version of myself. My eyes have never looked that defined or luminous. The way she understands color and blending is on another level. Every shade melts seamlessly into the next. It is true artistry. She works beautifully under pressure. Pageant mornings are intense and emotional, yet she remained composed and meticulous the entire time. Original post: I got married last year October 2025 and I have been thinking about my experience here and I just can't keep my experience to myself anymore. I really really wanted to like this business, I liked the K drama idol glam, the pictures she posted seemed so well done, and when I met her she was sweet. I liked Asian style make up because it was natural and seamless, which is what I wanted. She did an incredible job with my makeup and it really did stay all night! I showed her an inspiration picture and she nailed it. But, what went wrong, was my hair. I should have known when I saw the demographic of her portfolio. This is to say, I am Caucasian and have thin fizzy oily hair. And well, in all honesty I don't think Emily had lot of experience with my kind of hair. I asked for a half up have down style with curls for my trial hair and makeup. She did it and my first thought was that it was messy. I recognized that maybe this was part of the style and went for a different style. In retrospect, I should have done another hair trial as soon as I changed my mind about the style I wanted but I couldn't have afforded it. Anyway, as for my curls I let her know my hair is pretty shapeless and thin, so curls need extra time to set a a light product to hold. I ended up with curls that heavy and caked with product that lasted a grand total of 30 minutes. I went to Emily and told her my experience and she just said that my hair didn't hold a curl very well so she would have to add more product and go slowly with each curl. So I took it upon myself to do 2 things, choose one of the sturdiest curl styles of "glam waves" and find my own product and test it myself to know it worked. Shout out to davines. I had even used the product myself to curl my hair and saw that it lasted a couple days when I did it myself. I was confident, I had seen the portfolio pictures where Emily had done glam waves and she confirmed she could do them. I had had picked and tested a product that I knew worked. Then I even got hair extensions so that the texture of the hair extensions could help to hold my hair exactly in place. Well, it still didn't work out. First, as I was getting my hair done, there was a strong scent of burned hair. It was so strong that my mother in law and sisters in law came in and were actually concerned something was wrong. We went on with the hair appointment and seeing as she had a picture of the glam waves I wanted, and said she could do it and did it before, I sat and waited. I waited for her to be done. When I finally got to see, it was not what I asked for. Again in retrospect this is what hair trials are for and I don't blame Emily, I do believe she did her best but just did not have enough experience with my type of hair. Emily had done generic curls that were heavy and crunchy with product, my hair was heavy and smelled. What was disappointing is that I did not get Hollywood glam waves. The curls were not even in a single direction and It did not look like she combed out the curls and set them as waves. I was extremely disappointed but I was out of time. I had to accept what was done and go off to my wedding! Now when I look at my photos I see my hair and I am upset to think that it did not turn out the way I imagined. I really wish she had been honest about not knowing how to work with my hair so I could find someone else. All in all I loved my makeup but I was unhappy with my hair.
