Fun tea room In Escondido, I went for a friends birthday had a great time for an afternoon tea time. There were many options of tea flavors to pickle from & also food was yummy we got a small little fruit salad a soup appetizer & the tray of small bites which were all very good! What a fun treat & a fun way to celebrate!

This is a lovely tea shop and cafe. The front has lots of tea related trinkets to buy. The dining are is adorned with many types of ceramic teacups and teapots. Each table is set with 2 large teapots and pretty teacups. The me nu is quite larger than I expected. From a light lunch tea if you want something small to the grand tea service that is quite large. this was our first time. Everyone gets 3 tea sandwiches. They were tasty, but the bread wasn't as fresh as I expected. The scone was very good and served with the typical accompaniments of jam, clotted cream and lemon curd. Very good. It is a wonderful place to go for high tea. I would be there more often if I lived closer.

The Grand Tea. Everything was so cute and pretty. Complimented the teas well.

Its pretty cool you that you can find a high tea place in SD county. I've always wanted to do this (Bridgerton and Downtown Abbey are to blame) and this place does make you feel like you're a part of those worlds. The staff are all very nice and attentive. The teas we like tried were the Creme Brulee, Crime of Passion (my fave), Pai Mu Tan, Apricot Ginger (2nd fave). You get unlimited teas so if you want to switch any out to try new ones you can without having to finish a whole kettle. Would def do it again.

    The best tea sammies EVER!

*****FIVE Stars*****...Read on ... My wife loves this spot, and now I know why... My wife had been being extra nice to me, so I decided to treat her to her fav tea spot in San Diego County.., The Grand Tea Room... After I made the reservations, I was genuinely excited to go and get my high tea "on". ;) A quaint shop along the newly remodeled Grand Ave in Old Towne Escondido...with ample street parking all around ... We arrived a few minutes early for our 11am reservations, and were able to check out all the cool tea thingys (is that a word??) they offer for purchase... I had decided really to get into character, sporting an Irish-made paperboy's cap, and a 100% wool cardigan sweater collected from only the best sheep (at least that's what they told me) in the West Coast of Eire, now I'm ready for a "cuppa"...but enough of my gabbing, let's get down to why The Grand Tea Room is "The place" to take a friend, your honey, or even your mom (hey, she deserves it) With tables with two, four or six, the tea room is extremely comfortable and inviting... We opted for the "the Grand Tea" which offered unlimited tea of our choice, savory soup, fresh fruit, scrumptious scones, quiche, mini-sammies, and desert, all DELICIOUS! With many many choices (flavored , non-flavored, caffeinated or not..) to pick from, I chose the Yorkshire Gold tea, while my lady (corny, but stay with me. ;) went with the Spicy Cinnamon tea....This isn't your ordinary store bought tea, this is quality, hand chosen international delightful tea, set to satisfy and tickle your fussy tea palate... Great vibes surround the oh so classic tea pots and saucers... Did I mention this place is extremely clean.... Now it was time to relax, and have some nice convo with my sweetie..This was turning out to be the perfect date... With the tea pot never empty, and the goodies being supplied constantly, how can one not have a good time....The craziness of the world suddenly stopped, and we were engulfed in tranquility, delicious food and superb service, even it was for only a few hours...A nice escape... What a great place this Grand Tea Room is .... Highly Recommend! Did I mention it's owned and operated by the beautiful dynamic mother/daughter, Team Louisa .. Now set down your iPad, slap on your funnest, period correct clothes and run, jog, drive, walk or Uber if you must, down to "The Grand Tea Room" in Escondido, you'll thank me for it...You're Welcome! #SupportYourLocalSmallBusiness

I braved the construction on Grand to try The Grand Tea Room for the first time, and I am so glad I did! The entrance has a lovely assortment of gifts and warm, welcoming feel. I dropped in without a reservation but was accommodated for high tea in their dining room. The dining room is so cozy and beautifully themed. It was also full of chatting friends and other tables enjoying tea. A truly lovely ambiance. The service was friendly and prompt. Sometimes as a solo diner, I get ignored a bit, but not here. I felt like I was having tea with a friend. The tea was perfect. I ordered Darjeeling and they let me know that the tea was unlimited refills and welcomed me to try other flavors, but I stuck with Darjeeling today. Nice to have the options, though! My order came with soup, savory, sandwiches, scones, and sweets. Lots of S! The soup was tomato basil and came out piping hot. It might have been my favorite! The sandwiches were chicken salad, cucumber, and egg salad. They were all lovely and traditional. I would love to see their take on coronation chicken salad. I did feel like the egg salad could have used a bit more filling, but maybe I'm just being greedy. The savory was a beef shepherd's pie. The gravy was delicious but I could pass on the broccoli inside. The sweets were a red velvet cupcake, a strawberry shortcake, and a chocolate millionaire bar. The red velvet was the stand out here, with delicious cream cheese frosting. The scone was served with LOTS of cream (my favorite) as well as jam and lemon curd. I enjoyed the entire meal immensely and feel that it was well worth the $44 price. I can't wait to come back and bring my young daughter.

The Grand Tea Room is truly one of our favorite places to visit! My husband and I have been to several different tea rooms over the years, and this one stands out far above the rest. We actually drive all the way from Pasadena to Escondido just to come here, which should tell you how much we love it! Every visit feels special and relaxing, and it's always worth the trip. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance sets the perfect tone. The decor is elegant and charming, with beautifully set tables, lovely teapots, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel like you've stepped into a cozy English tea parlor. The soft classical background music and delicate touches, from the china to the floral arrangements, make it such a serene and inviting space. Whether you're coming for a special occasion or just an afternoon getaway, it feels like a treat every single time. Now, let's talk about the tea, it's so incredible! My absolute favorite is the Crème Brûlée tea, which has the most amazing flavor and aroma. It's rich, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet. It's honestly one of the best teas I've ever had anywhere, and I always look forward to it. My husband and I enjoy trying new blends, but I always find myself coming back to the Crème Brûlée because it's just that good! The food is equally delightful. Every sandwich is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My favorite is the chicken salad sandwich on a Croissant. You can really tell that care and quality go into each item. The cream scone is heavenly it's perfectly baked, light, and served with delicious clotted cream and strawberry jam. It's the kind of scone that melts in your mouth and makes you appreciate the art of afternoon tea. One thing that makes The Grand Tea Room extra special for us is how accommodating they are with dietary needs. My husband is gluten intolerant, and it can be hard to find tea rooms that offer good gluten free options, but The Grand Tea Room does, and they do it exceptionally well! They have a blueberry scone that's gluten free and absolutely delicious, along with gluten free bread and desserts that taste just as good as the regular ones. It's such a relief to visit a place where he can enjoy the full experience without missing out on anything. The service here is always top notch. The staff are kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, always making sure your teapot is full and that you have everything you need. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a great experience for every guest. Overall, The Grand Tea Room has become one of our favorite destinations. Between the beautiful atmosphere, incredible tea selection, delicious food, and thoughtful service, it's truly a gem. Every visit feels special, and we can't recommend it highly enough. If you're a tea lover or just someone looking for a charming, relaxing outing, The Grand Tea Room is absolutely worth the visit, even if you have to drive a few hours to get there!

Hundred dollars worth of food and tea

Really poor customer service at this place. Didn't like that the food was all premade and did not enjoy the taste of everything. Mac & cheese had way too much pepper. We spent $100 for a small tray of mini sandwiches and cookies +2 pots of tea. Very overpriced! The older lady at the end had the audacity to scuff at my $15 tip. Sorry the tip was not good enough for you. She was extremely passive aggressive and rude. Practically trying to force me to tip a larger amount and making me feel bad for it on top of that. I wish I would've canceled the tip completely. Large expectations on the tip from an establishment that makes you walk over to the register to check out and you can hear them on the phone the entire time from we were seated in the corner.

This is by far the best place we have ever gone for high tea. That includes places in the Socal area and places we've tried out of state. The ambience is lovely and staff are friendly. They have a really wide selection of teas and lots of different course options for afternoon tea for great prices. The food was excellent and they had some unique yummy flavors that I haven't found at any other places. Will be back again soon!

I think High Tea stands out as dress up fancy places to enjoy for special occasions. This is Doc's birthday weekend and she planned a fun varied adventure and we were her guests. You enter through a gift shop then are escorted to your table. Within minutes of their 11 a.m. opening, the patrons entered till all tables were occupied, even tables dining outside. It was a complete lunch surprise beginning with a fresh fruit cup clouded in a bed of whipped cream. Next came with soup with baguette or salad with choice of dressing. To be sure, check both sides of the tea menu- what a collection. My favorite was the Buccaneer. Everywhere you look there are framed photos, mini plates hanging on the walls and mismatched chairs pushed into Lacey tablecloths. The two teapots on each tables are also different. The tower arrived with scones, 3 kinds of finger sandwiches (cucumber, chicken and egg) and several desserts plus scones with 3 luscious smears. .***the tea room was a shabby chic lover's dream with Victorian whimsies placed oh so charmingly. Come for a special celebration you wont be disappointed.
