I have been dealing with a persistent dripping sound inside my bedroom wall for SIX MONTHS, and despite multiple reports, management has done NOTHING to truly fix it. They claim the work is "completed," yet the problem never goes away. Six months of sleepless nights, constant frustration, and no real solutions. The noise is unbearable--an irregular, metallic dripping sound that keeps me up at night and ruins my peace at home. It's not just annoying; it's a sign of serious building issue that management refuses to properly address. If this is happening in my unit, I can only imagine what other hidden maintenance nightmares exist in this building. The worst part? They don't care. They'll tell you they've "fixed" the problem just to get you to stop complaining, but they won't actually solve anything. If you're thinking about moving here, save yourself the stress and look elsewhere. This place is a joke when it comes to maintenance and tenant concerns. You've been warned! Wish I'd never set foot in this apartment complex. Pros: Proximity to medical center, but Adenine (nextdoor) has superior management and is just as close to TMC. Cons: Maintenance (as supervised by Derick) neglects to address urgent concerns such as water leaks in ceilings, low water pressure, insect infestations, etc. Creepy/unprofessional management practices: poor communication, enter apartments for "random inspections" without knocking while tenants are inside. Unsafe garage with multiple car break-ins. Unclean premises (so be sure to ask to explore beyond your basic tour when you visit). Fire alarms go off randomly. Apartment lease allows for temporary sublet to tons of AirBNB temporary residents with no regard for the community. read more

Definitely tainted my view of Greystar. I loved living here during my time. However they promised me a $1500 referral bonus as they did all the residents if you refer someone. My referral applied, was accepted, moved in and lived there for the life of his lease. THEY NEVER GAVE ME MY REFERRAL CHECK after multiple, multiple attempts asking for it. I even drove to corporate and nothing. Never ever again would I trust them. Not to mention the elevators were always down and the fire alarms were ALWAYS going off. I would advise to steer clear of this complex. The management is very greedy and will nickel and dime you for anything they can. You would think a complex adjacent to the med center would have compassion for its residents who are either healthcare providers or cancer patients. The amenities are consistently "having issues". The elevators are out of service more than they are working. The freight elevator was out of service for the better part of a year with management saying they were "waiting for parts". If you are concerned about safety, this is not the right complex. Parking garage lights are always out. I have been living in this complex for almost 1.5 years! I have been asking the owner for the referral fee that was promised several times! They continue to postpone it for the past 1.5 years and continue to ignore it. Do NOT count on the referral fee. The office staff specially the guy working here has been pushing me away and has not been helpful in getting the referral fee from their corporate office, and treat me with a VERY bad attitude! So I need to update this review because a lot has changed since my original post and it would only be fair to all my fellow Yelper peeps out there! I hate to write negative stuff but it is what it is. First off, the tea options have been removed from the resident lounge areas. The only place you can get some is in the main lobby area but that proves a little difficult when you'd like a nice green tips or mint tea before work. Also, I've noticed the other residents have become increasingly inconsiderate of others. For instance, I've heard dogs barking in the enclosed balcony space at 7 am every Saturday and Sunday for the past few months. I have two dogs so I'm pretty conscious what can happen but when it becomes a routine, well that's a problem. The issue has been brought to the attention of management but we'll get into that later. The hallways seem to be noisy as well and I often hear kids running up and down the hallways, screaming at the top of their lungs. Again, not very considerate of your fellow neighbors. Also, the trash pick up after 8 on certain days rule is constantly violated and people leave trash outside their front door for the entire day. This often leaves the hallways smelling like trash. Not good... New front desk management has taken over and their level of service has really broken down. If you go up to the front just ask for Jessica as she is awesome and one of the last original management that knows what's going on. As for the others, well it's kind of annoying to just be standing there waiting you to finish, I don't know, typing an email or searching the internet for you to finally acknowledge your duty as a front desk assistant. Overall, I'm glad our time here is ending as I will be moving out and not returning. With other newer and friendlier places opening up literally next door, why come here? read more

If I am taking time out to write a review than there is a major problem/grievance. Where to begin? 1. Unit My unit has been a mess and is in need of constant repairs. Repairs that take days to resolve. - A pipe was leaking above the shower in the master bathroom, which caused molding. The repair left the ceiling open for multiple days, yielding one functional bathroom to share between the roommates. - Another leak occurred in the kitchen over the stove. The apartment solution was to leave a humidifer which was very noisy and used up alot of electricity in the kitchen for over a week then paint over the mold. - Currently, a constant noise is radiating from the ceiling in the kitchen to the hallway and to the guest bathroom and bedroom. Constant as during the day and at night when trying to sleep. 2. Facility Management does not do a good job with the upkeep of the facility and there is often technical problems - The freight elevator was not working during my move-in day over a year ago. Guess what, it still is not working. - Also, the elevator closest to the amenities is frequently non-operational - The hallways are often dirty with literal food and dog feces on the floor - Oh don't forgot the random fire alarms that go off at the crack of dawn every 3 or so months :) 3. Customer Service The only good part is maintenance staff does respond to requests promptly - The office does not pick up my roommate or my phone calls. But I call from another number (at work) magically I get a response. - Oh I am still waiting on a response from "upper management". Its been 3 weeks Do not rent/lease here! read more

Lived there for 3 years left due to an aggressive and unhinged staff members.. Always get a walk through prior to move out or you will receive an factious list of expenses. Orchestrated Deceptive practices across the board. Invasion of privacy, there is something amiss regarding people hired with Grey Star properties. Grey Star will hire anyone off the street then allow them access to credential and personal information... go figure. In a rush to moved there, I move from one Grey Headache to another Grey Star catastrophe, I should have read review. Elan WAS a great place to live until they installed super bright string lights in the center of the complex that stays on all night. It's brighter in my apartment at night than during daytime! I asked the leasing office over a week ago about putting them on a timer and unplugging them in the meantime, and still, nothing has been done. I was told that the vendor was going to come to switch out the lights today, but nothing was changed, and I haven't gotten a response from the Elan team in several days. In previous responses, they have been dismissive. I am very disappointed with how this situation is being handled, and in the meantime, I would not recommend living here to anyone. read more

I just moved into this "luxury" apt building 2 weeks ago and I received a notice with a pair of ear plugs saying they would alarm the fire alarms for 3 days straight 9am-5pm to test if they work and have inspectors enter each apartment. These people must be insane. Covid cases are at its peak here in Houston. They forced me to pay for a hotel for 3 days since I could not work with the noise and my dog was very frightened. They put everyone's life at risk during covid and made me spend more money for a hotel when this apartment is already very pricey. I will be moving out ASAP. When I moved in I thought it was great. It has beautiful apartments and amenities and it's great for being by the med center. Unfortunately I have had a terrible experience. When I moved in the garage had to be closed for repairs for two months because of structural damage and we all had to park 2 miles away. Although we were compensated, it was awful. The service elevator has been broken for months and they claim it's because it's taking so long to get a part from Europe but it's been 6 months. I'm sorry, but there's no way. At one point when it would rain super hard my room would flood from the ceiling somehow and I'm on the 5th out of 6 floors. It took them a week to fix and I had called the emergency line and they said they would come the next day. They did not. There was also mold in my apt that grew all along my living room. There have been multiple times that the fire alarm just goes off out of no where. On and off. It's obnoxious and hurts. And it makes my dog whine bc her ears are way more sensitive. Also, one of the people that works at the from claims my mom dog took that person out but she's always on a leash and I can assure you, based on the difference in their sizes, that lie is not even possible. And I do not appreciate it bc this employee has told other people making them afraid of my dog. I genuinely hope other people have had a better experience bc it seems like a nice place for others. But it has been terrible for me and I would not live here again. I can't wait to move out. PLUS: The service staff and maids that were here are the nicest people ever. They always say hello, smile, ask how I am and pet my dog. I love them. They're great! read more

Alrighty, here's the full review for the Elan Med Center, the good, the bad and everything between. I'm a student, so I prize two things: Quietness, and safety. I found both of these here. The good: 1. Whenever I've had a service request, it's been fulfilled within a few hours. Even when my thermostat stopped working at 8pm at night, I called, they had a guy here within an hour who replaced it and was on his way in 5 minutes. I can't argue with the service here. I'm not sure about others experiences here, but I feel like I got my monies worth. I've also never had anything majorly bad happen. AC has never let me down, only a few light bulbs have busted out and that's about it. 2. My apartment has been quiet. I don't know whether I'm lucky in this respect, but I've never had an issue with sound. I'll sometimes hear the people above me drop something hard on the ground, but otherwise I haven't heard a single, solitary thing since moving in here a year ago. 3. I think that the premises are safe. There were apparently some car break-ins, which I find hard to imagine because there is a security guard walking the premise every night and there are gates and everything is very well lit. However, this is Houston, and it can happen anywhere, just don't keep things in plain view and lock up at night. 4. The pool area is really, really great to relax near pretty much any time of the year. 5. Everything is very clean all the time on my floor and in the common areas. 6. The amenities are nice. I don't use them a whole lot, but the pool tables are some of the best in Houston. 7. The staff are super nice. Never had a package issue or any rudeness at all, I hope they keep these guys around. 8. the apartments themselves are in good condition. I was the first person inside mine, but it's been great living in a modern place with great appliances. 9. I'd like to give a special shoutout to Chris Runyon. When I was first applying to live at Elan, I'd had an issue that was stopping me from being able to move in. After trying to figure it out myself, Chris kindly called on my behalf and sorted out the issue in 5 minutes. He's a really great guy, and I hope he stays on to keep the place running. 10. This follows on from #9, but whenever there has been an issue with the building, such as flooding or something is broken, we always got emails about it, and updates as soon as anything had changed. When the elevators all went out the first time, we got emails for 4 days every few hours telling us how the maintenance was going, and I thought this was fantastic, they clearly care about the people who live here, and I appreciated that a great deal. 11. Online payment system is awesome. I love being able to do that instead of needing to hand in a physical check every time. 12. This place is expensive, but I believe you get every pennies worth (except for #1 in the next section.) The bad: 1. I really don't like that we have to pay an automatic $20 for valet trash. The trash chute is at most 30 seconds away. I know some people here have trouble getting around due to disabilities, and that it would be hard to have it be opt-in, but other apartments do have it as an opt in thing instead of it being automatic. 2. Almost all of the parking spaces on your floor will be premium. If you arrive home after a certain time, all the free spaces will be taken and you'll have to go to a different floor. This is kind of a bummer. When I moved in each floor was half premium parking spaces half free, now there's only 3-4 spaces on each floor that are free. No worries I suppose, this is just a supply/demand thing and I understand why they do it. 3. The building does not handle weather/flooding well. The elevator in the garage has been out for about a month now. When it does flood, things shut down. The worst was when lightning struck near here, all of the key fob entry boxes stopped working - that was kind of a hassle because no one could get in. I don't think this is necessarily Elan's fault, but it's just something to know because I want to give as well-rounded a review as possible. Overall, I really enjoyed living here. It is my pleasure to write the 1st review , I was lucky enough to be advised by a colleague to check this new apartment , I just moved to Houston to work at MD Anderson , I don't know where to start from , the apartments are NEW & I mean new , the management specially Joanna are super nice & friendly , this doesn't change after signing ur contract. I walk to MD Anderson in less than 10 mins , exactly 8 mins. The lounge is amazing with 2 large flat screens , the game rooms is fantastic , the pool is clean & u feel like u are in a resort. I've been here for a short period but I'm so happy with the over all experience , they have a nice promotion going on with $1000 off ur first month rent , I have no conflict of interest with this review. If u are coming to work at MD ANDERSON or around this area , look no further , this is ur resort apartment ! Hope this place stays the way it is. read more

There are lots of things to do here: game room with billiards and shuffleboard, lounge with TV and coffee machine. The pool is nice and there are TV's outside near the pool area. The gym is great with multiple cardio machines, free weights, and other resistance machines. There is also a yoga room and they host yoga classes a few times each week. There is a dog park but it is watered too much and is sort of swampy so if you take your dog there it might get its feet covered in mud and muck. The staff are all friendly and they host holiday events, including a contest to decorate your balcony for Christmas. The residents are the only negative thing about living there as many of them are lazy and leave their trash by the trash chute instead of putting it in the chute. They also leave trash and food in the public areas and I have seen ants crawling all over the trash and food. read more

This is an amazing property. I have been living here for almost 2 years now. It is a little more expensive than the rest of the market but it's a very good place to live specially if you work at the medical center. I'll highlight some of the Pros and Cons. Pros: - Incredible staff. This makes a huge difference when you need help from the leasing office specially after a long stressful day. They are very responsive to any issues and are very fast to fix any issues in the apartments. - Facilities are fenomenal with very good spaces for working out, very nice pet parks, very nice pool with bbq area, rooms for studying and game rooms. They have a tanning room that I do not use but if you are into this they have one. - Very comfortable parking spaces. - I once had a problem with one of the staff members and the manager was very responsive and this staff member ended up moving to another property. - Quiet neighborhood at walking distance to Hermann park. Cons: - Prices are a little high for the market. - Residents don't follow rules on trash pickup times and this makes the corridors smell bad at times it shouldn't. In summary I think it's a very good and comfortable option to live at. read more

Enough is enough. My lease is up in a few months but I already submitted my notice to vacate. The list is too long to mention all the reasons why but I will start with Melissa at Kingsley/Greystar property management ignoring my request to simply return my phone call. I've had several issues that were not efficiently communicated or resolved by the local staff. I reached out to Melissa at the corporate office via phone/voice messages and email several times. To this day I have NEVER heard back from her or anyone in the corporate office. The manager of the property even let me know that Melissa said she called me back on a recorded line, which did not happen at all. Further more if you don't have a problem paying for amenities that frequently don't work (ie: exercise equipment, access control doors, etc.) , strong animal odors down the hall ways, animal urine and poop surprises as you walk around property, air condition/heat control issues that take forever to get resolved, paying for parking but other cars (including leasing staff) park in your spot without being to towed, etc this might be the place for you. There is a lot of good about the property when things function properly but what I don't like is the lack of efficient communication and timeliness of resolving issues. I will say that the leasing staff and maintenance staff is personable and cordial, I do appreciate that, you can't put a price tag on sincerity. BUT the rent here comes with a pretty little price tag and as far as I'm concerned, if I have to be patient, understanding and over look the multiple problem this property encounters every single time they happen without penalty; then the same courtesy should be extended to me every time. This is a surface level review but hopefully it helps anyone considering to lease at Greystar or Kingsley properties. Please read the reviews. My husband and I looked at (what felt like) every apartment/loft for rent in Houston prior to deciding on Elan. We've lived here for about 6 months now. We're really happy with our experience. The Fae floor plan is perfect for the two of us. The apartment itself feels very spacious - the high ceilings help - and is very well appointed. The materials (bamboo flooring, high end lighting, quartz counters, stainless appliances) are also very nice. The apartment complex is incredibly well maintained. The maintenance staff is SO efficient. The front desk/management is extremely accommodating and responsive if there are issues - which are few. We enjoyed the pool area into the fall months, the gym is large enough to support the number of residents that use it, the common areas are really welcoming (and are used quite frequently!), the resident events are great, and the yoga studio is a great addition. My only wish is that there was a Saturday am yoga class - but you can't have it all, I suppose, and it is free! (There is currently a Tuesday evening class.) The location is surprisingly quiet and so convenient. We don't have to go outside of a 3-mile radius for groceries, work, or any necessity - unless we just want to. The nearby parks and running trails are a nice escape in the middle of an otherwise concrete city. Overall, we're super thankful that we found this place. read more

Since my review of Sept 2016 a lot has happened and yes there are new faces in the front office. But, the consistency and dedication of management in seeing to the needs of tenants remains excellent. My wife is entering her 19th month of cancer treatment at MD Anderson, and life is hard...I can be frazzled and short tempered, but all I get from the staff is support and reassurance. The Elan had a pre Super Bowl pizza, wings and veggies get together today from 4 to 6, and we got trapped in appointments at the hospital and were going to miss the pizza and wings...at about 15 minutes before the end of the function, I phoned Rebecca in the office and asked if she would be kind enough to put a couple of leftover slices of pizza and a few wings in our apartment before she left for the day. It was 7 before we made it home and there on the kitchen counter was the pizza and a few wings, with a nice note. That is what the Elan is about...it's almost like family. This is the most difficult time of my life and the staff at Elan helps us through by going above and beyond the call, as Rebecca did today. SB read more

Just wanted to add some stuff- I dont live here anymore thankfully but when i did, the trash shutes were NEVER not stuffed to the brim and so the only option was to use the valet trash. BUT god forbid you have more than 1 trash bag, if you set the 2nd trash bag on the floor they took photos and fined you. It can not touch the ground, must be on top of the trash container. Could easily have avoided fines if they just fixed the trash shute. It is filled to the brim on every floor and is unusable. After major holidays even the outside of the trash shute door is packed with trash so when youre driving out of the garage all you see if trash. read more

My son lived here. When he vacated, we left the apartment in an amazing condition. There was no walk through. The Apartment Complex charged said everything was paid off. Then they proceeded to change carpets, etc. This was NOT in the lease. So they gave it to a collection agency. When I told them, this charge is illegal, they put this on his credit card. The worst moving out experience I have ever had. I had a walk through the day before my move-out date. I was told that the apartment condition was good and they would probably charge me no more than $25 for some small repairs. But I was actually charged $75 after I moved out. Also, it's been 2 months since I moved out and I still have not received my refund of deposit in mail. I have been trying to contact this property many times. All I wanted to know is 1) when shall I expect the deposit refund in mail; and 2) the amount of refund that I am supposed to receive. I have emailed them a few times, they never replied. I called them as I get a chance, most calls went directly to the voice message, I left my message, they never called back. There were only a few times (when it is pretty lucky) when someone at the leasing office picked up my call. However, I was told that as a staff he has no authority to view the breakdown of my bill and that he is going to report to his manager and the manager will get back to me the other day. When moving in last year it was quick and easy but moving out I notice problems my plan was to stay there for 1 year finishing up med school and venture out to different city's for getting my experience with jobs.Only thing I did was hang a TV in my bedroom and that's was all. During the move out First I clear out my storage unit during the move out and the next day found out my storage unit lock was broken into and the door and lock was broken and the door was open. I told the front desk she told me it was normal for people the break in the storage unit. What made my feel uncomfortable. Well moving out all got my stuff out and have 1-2 week left on my rent I would go back to my apartment and check on things clean up and make sure I would leave a nice and clean place for the apartment after my lease end. Two months later the apartment email me saying I owe them $600 for "stander cleaning " and that they couldn't provided a bill but a email state you owe $600 for clean because covid. EMC is the best apartment community. From old management (Ryan, Jeff, Kimberly) to new management (Rebecca, Octavia, Jessica), Joanna has done an amazing job! I lived in this apartment complex for 13 months and I'm so sad that I left. I moved out because I moved to another state. I've recommended this complex to a few of my other coworkers and they actually moved in. If I could have taken this apartment complex with me to my new state, life would be great! The reason why I was attracted to EMC was for convenience (near work) and for the luxury. I worked at MD Anderson which was literally a 7 minute walk. You get what you pay for and EMC has just the right amount of luxury, but still felt like home. Understandably so, the reason why most people don't renew their lease is because of cost. I had a 1 bd apt and it was reasonably priced due to move in specials when I signed my lease. Ameneties are top notch and so many options to entertain guests or yourself (vegas style gorgeous pool with bar/kitchen area, game room, multiple study rooms on each floor, exercise room, yoga room, tanning room, outdoor sitting area on 2nd floor, media room, and even beautiful rooms in the main lobby). Whenever guests would visit it, they always told me that they felt like they were on a vacation! I love that there is an option to rent out a spare apt for guests. The kitchen is large and appliances are new + great (I cook alot so kitchen layout was a large factor in my decision....electric stove was SUPER fast). I also like that regardless of the floor plan, there was a full size W/D. I lived on the 2nd floor and they clean all the grills daily and everything is always sparkling clean! There's lot of fun perks too- food trucks every Wed, resident events (monthly brunches on the weekends), and even breakfast at the gate (once a month as you're leaving for work starting at 6:40am, they hand you a brown bag full of breakfast goodies as you're leaving the garage!). There's lots of guest parking (however, I have heard there were several break ins since it's on the first floor and not gated). Safety wise- be safe and act smart. I'm from Chicago, so I'm used to the city life. In any city, there will be break ins. The building is extremely secure (you need a fob key to go anywhere and EVERYWHERE), so I have never been worried for my safety. I always parked my car inside the garage and there's large gates which you need a fob key for. In general, I never leave valuables in my car and I never felt unsafe. Parking wise- many people to try to park 1st and 2nd floor even if they live on the 5th floor for convenience, so after rush hour, you'll probably be parking at the top. There's no assigned parking, but there is an option for you to buy a spot for a fee. Communication- Online payment service, reservations (freight elevator/rooms/ect), and service requests were easy with their online portal. Management did a great job with always keeping us updated. I used Comcast and Reliant Energy (built in Nest thermostat). Service Request- Sergio was amazing to work with. Once, I placed a service request 30 minutes before the office hours closed (I wasn't expecting my request to be opened until the next business day), and maybe not even 10 minutes before close, Kim had called me to ask if it was okay for Sergio to come in to help with my request so I could sleep with a piece of mind....what other complex would do that?? Pretty much all my service requests were completed within 30 minutes or 24 hrs. "Complaints"- The only real complaint or heads up would be to be careful with where you live. I lived on the 2nd floor with a pool view. While it was BEAUTIFUL, there were some negatives. I could never sleep the first 2 weeks I lived there because I didn't realize that the beautiful string lights were on ALL NIGHT, along with the game room/TV area lights. My bedroom was extremely bright and eventually I started using a sleeping mask to tune out the brightness. Also, this didn't happen often, but sometimes, some residents wouldn't follow the no pool rule after 10:30?pm (I can't remember the exact time). This was frustrating when there's a gigantic loud party with loud music bumping at 12am and you're trying to sleep because you have work in 5 hours....again cons with the pool view. Final "complaint", my AC didn't work for 2 weeks due to crazy hot Houston temperatures, but Sergio and the rest of management did their best to try to alleviate the situation and I was reimbursed. Reading some of the reviews on Yelp, don't seem to be accurate of the experience I had at Elan. Yes, hallways can be loud since there are kids and there is an echo...but it's not that bad. I couldn't hear any of that past my kitchen and most of the hallway noise would die down by 7pm. I never had gross smelly trash issues with my neighbors, people respected rules, and I never saw dog poop anywhere/dogs were good. I have no real complaints! You won't regret living here! read more

We were refered to EMC by friends from work. We were interested to rent a 1st floor apartment, but they did not have any available (they were all occupied, and the tenants that live there don't seem the let those go very easily). Still, I have to say that Jessika gave us an excellent costumer service and offered us various available apartments in other floors. My husband and I have lived here for about 6 months now and we absolutely love it. It feels like a luxury condominium. The pool area is incredibly nice, the gym has everything you could need, and the yoga room (with free yoga classes) is a great bonus. We live in the Bella plan and are very happy with it- it's spacious for a one bedroom and feels very modern. We also rarely ever hear our neighbors, the sound proofing is better than any apartment I've ever lived in. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the maintenance staff is wonderful- the entire building is always immaculate. We have a dog and this is a great place for him- there is an official dog park here where he can run around and make some puppy friends. There is also an unofficial area under the building where we can take him to run if we don't want him playing with other dogs that day (and getting filthy)- this area is also covered so he won't get wet. But maybe the best thing about this place is the location. We can walk to the medical center in 10-15 minutes, and on weekends we enjoy walking our dog to Hermann Park. It's only a short drive to the grocery store and Rice Village is close as well, with lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy. We are also right by the museum district. We rented this apartment without seeing it because we were moving from out of state and we can't be happier with our decision. Really can't think of a better place to live in this area! read more

Never told me prior to moving in even though they knew it was coming that the garage would be closed for a month (and our cars were parked over a mile away). Vehicle just got the back window smashed...luckily there wasn't much to steal inside... run, don't walk away from this place read more

The complex looks great on a walk-through but there are numerous issues beyond the wood flooring and nice countertops: -garbage left outside of trash chutes and outside of apartment doors on days there is no valet trash service -you can hear everything from the neighbors above you, everything, toilet flushing, chairs scraping the floor, dogs barking -many transient residents leasing for very short periods of time; the "lease terms" have continued to shorten as the property needed to increase occupancy and corporate management companies have leased apartments to rent like hotel rooms -many residents do not use leashes when walking their dogs, including management staff; this is a problem, especially in the hallways or when driving into the property; -not enough parking in the garage and only certain floors are allowed to reserve parking spaces, the rest of the residents are out of luck and often have to circle up each floor of the garage searching for parking The convenience to the Medical Center is nice but the property can be better managed for the price residents pay to live here. read more

There's so much great things to say, I'll try to keep it all in order. Let's start with the leasing portion. It doesn't get much easier than the way they have it set up. We dealt primarily with Joanna and she was awesome! She always had a great attitude and this has not changed since we have been living here. You can either go in and sign your lease on paper or if you are like us, moving from out of state, you can do your whole lease online. There were a few kinks that they were working on since they just went to online leasing, but they have worked on it, listened to their resident's suggestions, and made it very streamlined. You can do everything on their Resident Portal from paying your rent, scheduling maintenance etc. Now let's talk about living here. I know from past experience, every complex will give you the tour of all their "great amenities" and promise you the world only to find that their world is flat just like their "great amenities." We've all been there and hated every day until we moved. NOT HERE! The amenities are too many to list but are clearly stated on their website and throughout their tour they give you. Yes, all the amenities they tell you are all true and then some. I have to say, the best is the free gourmet coffee machines! haha Elan truly cares about their amenities and their residents so any issues you have they will handle ASAP. They truly go above and beyond to make sure that you stay happy. As far as noise, we hardly hear any. I think I am the best one to tell you if it's noisy or not because we live right next door to the game lounge which has 2 pool tables, 2 tvs and music. There have been small parties in there and I can't ever hear them in our room. I've even tested it and went into the hallway and heard them clearly, but once I was back in our room...NOTHING! Now you may hear the occasional neighbor upstairs but that's very rare too. They do have a Houston Police Officer that lives here which you can call if you hear noise but trust me, you shouldn't have to use him. Now we have a 4 year old Boxer so let's talk about the dog park. It's HUGE! It is fenced in and big enough to toss the ball around to your pet and have them exercise there. Or if they are anything like our dog, they'll make friends with the other dogs and run forever. Our only issue is the constant mosquitos but, this is the south and the apartment is next to a bayou...well what Texans consider a bayou. We came from Louisiana with real bayous! haha Other than that, there's 2 poop bins with bags for you to use and a cool dog bowl fountain so your pet can stay hydrated. Next topic, distance to the Med Center. My wife goes to school in the Med Center and she normally walks or rides here bike. It takes her about 15-20 minutes to get to the hospital she goes to or a 5-8 minute bike ride. If you're not used to the Med Center in Houston, every hospital has their own police department, the Med Center itself has it's own police department and you routinely see Houston PD driving around so you should feel safe walking or riding from Elan to the Med Center. So in short, this place is AWESOME! The apartments are brand new, literally. The staff is GREAT with a great manager, Chris. It's very clean and has everything you can ask for and more. I didn't get paid to write this...although I wish I had, my fingers hurt. So rest assure that I've told you all the pluses I could think of. The only negative I can say is the fire alarm testing that is a must with any new construction. That is something that will not last forever but I work at night so that's the only reason I can complain. So that is just a personal complaint that really doesn't bother me since I know it must be done. Hope this helps out anyone looking into Elan. We've been here for going on 5 months and we still love it....oh did I mention that had an outdoor movie night at the pool!? Our room looks into the pool so we watched from our balcony (my pic is on Elan's Facebook page) and it was great. What apartment complex does that!?!?!? So again, hope this helps in your quest for that perfect place. I don't think you'll regret moving here! read more

Hate to write this but, It has been almost half a year since the garage damaged. No one ever tried to fix it. Jessica is the only one willing to help. Other staff are just terrible. Some elder residents hate the staff and all these but they do not write about it. Ask a resident before you even think of moving here. So not worth the money. read more

The staff here is amazingly nice, helpful, and responsive! The resident events are top notch and the amenities are great (free coffee for residents)! I highly recommend this place, though it can be a bit pricey (esp if you want to own a pet). Definitely ask about any special rates they're having though because those tend to be pretty sweet deals. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk to the medical center! read more

WE love it here! Great views and great spacious apartments. We just wished they had more EV charging stations or residents didn't park in those spots. The apartments are really close to Hermann Park and to a bayou where you can cycle/go for a run etc. Plus, they have free yoga and kickboxing classes. Would highly recommend! read more

i've been living here for a few months now and couldn't be happier!! Kimberly and the rest of the front office are all incredibly nice and helpful, they feel like family! The pool and grill area is so nice and great for entertaining, the gym and game room are fantastic, and of course the apartments themselves are beautiful and homey. Almost all of the residents work in the medical center so it's very quiet and relaxed. The people are pleasant and the facilities are wonderful and well kept by the great staff. i can't recall seeing a single mess or unsightly thing on this property the whole time i've been here. all of my guests are impressed with this place and rightfully so :) read more
