I needed the gown hemmed and the bust area slightly altered. On the jumpsuit I needed the bust area taken in quite a bit. Ms. Gerry did such a wonderful job on these alterations. From the moment I walked in I knew I was in good hands. She takes her time and really pays attention to detail. She makes suggestions based on her years of experience and expertise. The price was more than what you'd pay at a standard alterations shop, but this is to be expected considering the quality of work being done and the fact that I needed the pieces done within a couple of weeks. Went to Saks at 11 am when they opened, found a dress that was at least a foot too long, and bought it thinking I'd just cut it myself if needed since it was a scuba material and doesn't fray when cut (just needs stitched at the side seams). Luckily, instead of ruining a brand new dress trying to do the DIY method, I quickly googled tailors in the area and found Tailors International a couple of blocks from our hotel. My boyfriend took the dress in at noon for them to look at, I walked over an hour later to put it on for pinning (while on a virtual work call), and Tailors was patient and efficient enough to work it in between other jobs and complete by 2:30 pm, incredible! They did (unsurprisingly) a much better job than I ever would've done and made the afternoon so much less stressful than it could and should have been. Even had it not been such an impressive quick turnaround, the work itself was fabulous! He hemmed it exactly where I wanted it to be (I am so glad he reminded me to wear my shoes to the pinning rather than just tell him how much to take off) and the cut/stitching was flawless!

The styles are not cutting edge by any means but if you're truly into fashionable attire you're not shopping at Jos A. Bank anyhow. My main issue on the clothing side is lack of options and the fact that tailoring always take 2-3 weeks which seems quite excessive for a retail store focusing on menswear and wanting you to spend hundreds of dollars with them - it's not exactly like most guys plan ahead. That being said, get your deals now because it's only a matter of time until Jos. A. Bank merges with Men's Wearhouse and then nobody's going to find the deals you have today from either one of these national players in the menswear market. Jos. A. Bank also offer tuxedo rentals which I used for my wedding a couple years ago and this is the reason I'm bumping them down from 4 to 3 stars. My tux was sized wrong and that's the last thing you want to be dealing with in the days before your wedding so it was quite a pain in the neck and I still ended up with a vest that was too big even though the coat was swapped out in a day.
