Ben, Leah and the other staff members were so caring, compassionate, thorough and willing to do anything we asked of them. My mom and I met with Leah when we knew my dad didn't have much time left. It was so helpful to understand what decisions needed to be made and what to expect. After he passed away, we communicated frequently by phone, text and email, and everything went very smoothly. They did a terrific job putting together a video of photos we provided and producing a memory book with his obituary and photos we selected. The funeral home itself is so lovely and recently remodeled. We held my dad's funeral there, and it has a nice homey atmosphere versus being a being vast room I've seen at other funeral homes. Finally, one of the things we were most impressed with was how much attention and care they gave to the grandchildren in our family. Ben gave them a talk before the funeral, explaining death in a way that was very relatable and heart-warming, and they were included in the grave-side service in a way that was very special. I can't say enough about how much we appreciated this extra care.

I received a rude phone call from a step-"family' member of mine essentially telling me to remove my review. That was on Google+. My original review simply stated that my father's funeral was okay but I felt pushed out by the funeral home because they dismissed everyone by rows and picked up and started stacking chairs literally as guests stood up. I stood up feeling obligated to do so, but I will say that if someone didn't stand up, they didn't say anything. I just felt that was very rude and sent the message to get out ASAP. It didn't help that they reminded guests to quickly say goodbye to the family so that the family members had time alone to say their goodbyes. I was sitting in the middle of the rows and left a few minutes after my row was dismissed. Before I could even get to my coat, the people at the home had not only stacked most of the chairs (as described above) but also started packing up all the photos. The funeral home itself was nice enough. It was a cute looking house with a basement. The basement had a billiard table, some kids toys, and a tiny eating area. The funeral home only had one bathroom. The service itself was okay and the lady priest was awesome. I wish I remembered her name so I could leave her a good review. I probably wouldn't have bothered to leave a second review, but since I got an angry phone call and messages in short saying to take my review down, I feel it is even more important to call this place out on their shortcomings. I had given the place 3 stars the first time, but after threatening calls, I am not lowering it to one star. To the "family" member who claimed this has caused a "riff" in a friendship of theirs, I am sorry. My personal thought on that is the person clearly wasn't a real friend if my "negative review" caused such chaos. I simply stated what happened. I did not embellish anything. I'm sorry Conley Funeral home doesn't want people to know how they really run things.

I have an old home and the fuse box and electric service was not up to code and this was now a good time to upgrade. After leaving messages with several other contractors who never got back, I found Gerald Long Electric. Gerald got back that afternoon and came out to inspect and quote a few days later despite being busy. The quote was to replace and upgrade to code, all electrical from the roof line down and into the basement with a new 100 amp breaker box replacing the existing fuse box. Other grounding and neutral issues were also found and corrected. All the work was completed in about five hours! I was expecting it to take all day. Communication with Gerald was excellent, either answering his phone when I called or retuning my call a few minutes later. Everything as promised and at a very good price. With years of experience he has probably seen it all! There were issues and delays with getting a permit to start the work and this would have been much more of a problem if Gerald hadn't been so responsive and helpful. A great guy and crew to work with! Now I know who to use and who to recommend when asked if I know a good electrical contractor. Without any doubt, Gerald Long Electric!

4greyhoundracers ZERO STARS!!! Stay away from this adoption group! I have been adopting retired…read moregreyhounds since 1998. I have homed 13 to date. I recently lost my male to cancer. I was looking for another pet to adopt for my family and to find my 11 year old senior female greyhound another brother.WeI have always had two greyhounds together because usually when we loose one we adopt another. I contacted 4 greyhound racers and told them exactly what I was looking for, a male that would not be alpha, one that would be laid-back a bit, and one too fit in with an 11-year-old senior hound. I have had older dogs in the past and have actually adopted them at the age of 7, 8 and 9 years old and ones with cancer that no one else wanted I figure they all need to be loved and older hounds can steal our hearts as well as any other age. The group brings you dogs to your home. They expect you to adopt one of them because some of their foster volunteers live quite a distance away and have to travel to your home. They tell you this so from the beginning of the adoption process, you feel a bit obligated to take a dog on that day. They also told me the day they brought them that if somebody returned a dog, they would badmouth them to other groups and make it hard for them to adopt again. My experience with this group was they brought two dogs that I picked out and two dogs that I did not. The first who came into the home brought in by the president of the group. One dog was very, very young she had kept on a leash. I don't think the dog was trusted to be off me. The other one walked around the house and peed three times all over everything. Then the third dog came in he seemed like he was the one I was interested in just by looking at pictures, but anybody knows that when you are going through a greyhound group you never adopted by pictures alone you have to meet the dog and you have to also make sure the dog is going to work in your family. I knew this dog was younger, but by the way they described him between the adoption group and the foster family was that he was pretty laid-back but like to play, etc. We ended up adopting the third dog. He was pretty laid back for around two days by day three he was running through the house , pushing my 11-year-old around and was a horrible fit for our family. I contacted Sue Purdom told her I was having some issues she told me to crate the dog which I really didn't see how this was going to fix things. Maybe prolong them to any time outside the crate I have never created my greyhounds because I never have had to. I've always taught them to get along and respect each other. This was a completely different experience in any of the dogs I have ever adopted. I decided that he wasn't going to work out and it was time to return him. Mind you they had an older seven year-old that was looking for a home, but his name was never mentioned. They went on to tell me well you didn't pick him off the Internet. It's not always up to the adapter to pick a dog off the Internet. It is up to the group to find the correct dog for the family And suggest them. This dog was never mentioned. When I asked if the seven year-old would be a better fit, I was told we don't exchange greyhounds. They basically came took the dog back. Did not refund my $750 and also sent out an email to another group that I was looking into to adopt from. Needless to say I was able to call that group and tell them what had happened. Period. this was by far the worst group I have ever dealt with in my life of adopting greyhounds. It wasn't about getting the correct dog into the home. It was about getting a dog into a home and taking the money. I don't believe this group is all about the dogs. I believe it is all about the money and just getting a dog placed wherever possible. So I give this group no stars not even one. When I spoke to other groups about this and other people who have been adopting greyhounds for many years, they all said this is not the way you go about placing greyhounds. They would have never had a return if they would have got me the right dog. Someone is not doing their job correctly and that is all I really have to say. It is a sad reality in the greyhound adoption world.
