A good choice for a quick bite in Salem! I like this place because it's locally owned, unlike so many other eateries on main st. The wraps are small but tasty and the smoothies are refreshing. Tried the new location today for their grand opening and was pleased with the service and the food. Prior to being called "Elderberry," this store was called Fruition's, and it was slightly closer to Roanoke College. I noticed they had a sign up saying they'd continue to honor Fruition's gift cards throughout the year, and offering a 15% discount to Roanoke College students.

ALWAYS friendly ... Yes, there are times when they are incredibly busy - but a customer's understanding goes a long way!

The place was very clean and organized. The ambiance felt refreshing and relaxing, very much like their products themselves. I was greeted with a warm welcome by two very friendly ladies who were wonderful introducing and explaining the menu to me. I first ordered the Golden Glow Smoothie, which contained my favorite fruit, Mango, among other things. It was served in a glass Mug and tasted very nourishing and refreshing. I sat at a table near one of the windows. And I enjoyed drinking the smoothie while looking outside through the window. Some other customers came in and ordered different Wellness Bowls. As I was about to leave, I noticed their Wellness Bowls and was attracted to how appetizing they looked. So I asked one of the servers to explain the different ones they had. Since I was still hungry, I then ordered a Chocolate Peanut Butter Wellness Bowl, and enjoyed it all the way. It was so refreshing and nourishing. I'm glad I stopped by this Juice Bar, highly recommend it to all of you reading my review, and plan to return in the near future, especially during the hot days of the summer, or when I feel like having a refreshing boost to brighten up my day.

A short while ago I had the privilege of reviewing its first location, in Downtown Roanoke, the largest establishment in Crafteria: Handmade Food and Goods, almost in the corner of S Jefferson Street and Church Avenue. Today I decided to visit the Little Green Hive in Grandin Village, located on Grandin Road in the heart of Grandin Village, right next to the 7-11 there. It shares the same entrance to the building where Rockfish Food and Wine Restaurant is located. After you enter a small foyer, the door on the right takes you to this Historic Grandin Village Coffee Shop, that serves Coffee, Smoothies, Smoothie Bowls, Fresh Juices, Breakfast Burritos & Bagels, and fresh pastries such as Fresh-baked Scones, Muffins, Cinnamon Rolls, and Large Chocolate Chip Cookies. When I entered through the white french door that led to this Coffee Shop located in a small yet very cozy space of a Victorian building with beautiful original hardwood floors and a lovely wide window with a long counter table and high chairs facing out the window looking out towards the sidewalk, I was simply amazed at how well by using different color paints for the walls, a white furniture counter, blackboards with color chalk menus, and contemporary yet comfortable furniture, they have created a cozy and inviting space, very appropriate to contribute to the dining experience itself. At the ordering counter, a gentleman employee warmly greeted and welcomed me with a smile. Then he took my breakfast order. I ordered a Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a plain Bagel Sandwich, a large Caffè Mocha, and one of their famous Cinnamon Roll, which by the way I had seen how they make them from scratch when I visited their Downtown Roanoke store. Another of their employee, a young lady, was the one who prepared the items ordered and the would place them on the pick-up table when ready and call the name of the items to be picked up and taken by the customer to their table. As I sat down waiting for my food to be ready. I noticed the positive chemistry emanating from the other customers there. A few young ladies who looked like friends were having breakfast and chatting at the window counter. An midage gentleman was seated in one of the relaxed and comfortable, leather chairs up front and listening to his music while he enjoyed his coffee. An older wise gentleman was serving as a mentor to a younger what looked like college student. And a group of four older but graceful and energetic ladies just arrived and were seated down at a table getting ready to have a pleasant breakfast meeting, while enjoying their coffee and breakfast treats. This restaurant was serving the community well. I could feel it in the air. While on its walls, there were artworks from a local artist hanging with a name and price tag and information on the artist with a QR code to the Artist's website and instructions on how to buy these and other of her works of art. While all this was happening I had already picked up my breakfast and was enjoying it at my table. Needless to say that everything tasted delicious. From my Mocha Coffee that had just the right flavor, to the Bagel Breakfast Sandwich which was fresh and soft with fresh ingredients, to the Cinnamon that was so sweet. I invite the readers of this review to also look at my photographs and video-clip accompanying the review to better appreciate this place and its food. And I highly recommend that you stop by and try it. For I can assure you that when you do, you are up for a one of a kind Coffee Shop dining experience.

It was bold without being sour or bitter. Also ordered a sausage, egg and cheese burrito and a chocolate chip cookie. Again, the burrito surprised me and tasted better than it looked. Based on the appearance, it looked like it would be pretty basic and bland. But the eggs were soft and creamy, not dry or over cooked at all. The cookie was good as well. The cafe is a decent size, wide and open. There are tables on one side of the cafe and sofa seating on another side. We sat at a big elevated table with bar chairs that looked out of the cafe. Service was friendly enough. Would visit again for coffee and light bites again.

For some time now every time I visited this Credit Union where I have an account, I wondered what the food would be like at that restaurant. And today, I decided to go in and try it out. When I arrived in my pearl white Lexus, there was an open parking spot right in front of the restaurant. So I took advantage of the opportunity and parked there. The colorful storefront with the simple fonts used in the logo of the place seemed to invite you to walk in. Once inside, I loved their simple but very effective decor. It created a relaxed environment where one could enjoy a healthy meal and smoothie. A friendly young lady behind the counter greeted me and took my order after I had reviewed the poster size menus up on the wall. I ordered a Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich made on a ciabatta bread. Ciabatta is a white Italian yeast bread characterized by a crisp crust, airy/porous interior, and an oblong, flat shape. Created in 1982 by Arnaldo Cavallari to rival the French baguette, its name literally means "slipper" in Italian due to its appearance. It is commonly used for sandwiches, paninis, or dipping in olive oil. As a side I picked a bag of Sea Salt & Vinegar Chips. To drink I ordered the New Mango Monsoon Smoothie that contained mango, pineapple, papaya, guava, passion fruit & coconut. I paid with my credit card and was given a receipt. When my order was ready, it was placed on the counter and I was called to pick it up. The sandwich came very well wrapped and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The ciabatta was toasted just right for a crispy crust and came cut in half. Everything about it was delicious. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality of their food. The Smoothie was blended just right and served in a strong paper cup and a quality straw, that allowed for comfortable sipping and enjoyable, flavorful drinking. Before leaving I inquired about their app and the young lady at the counter explained how I could still get the points for today's meal by scanning my receipt, and that I would get a free smoothie next time I dined there and scanned my app. What a pleasant dining experience: the ambiance, the food and drink, enjoyed in a welcoming environment with excellent customer service.
