In my experience visiting St. Francis Health Center, and specifically with my nurse practitioner, Abby Rodriguez, I have felt entirely seen and cared for. The establishment is explicitly feminist and highly regards the voices and opinions of patients, materials in the lobby emphasize the power of women to make their own health choices and it is clear that the St. Francis Health Center exists to support women to do just that. In my checkups with Abby, I never felt like she lacked for time. Abby asked lots of questions pertaining to my physical, mental, and emotional health, in addition to performing a routine physical and ordering blood work. Based on my answers and the results of my blood work, Abby has been able to recommend a range of non-invasive options to support my particular health needs including vitamins, herbs, and supplements, and personally recommending mental health professionals, acupuncturists, various types of alternative and energy therapists. For example, Abby was able to recommend a pre- and post-surgery protocol of vitamins/supplements that accelerated my healing in incredible ways, much to my surgeon's dismay. The Center was well maintained and very clean. The reception desk young women were friendly, professional, and efficient. Those are the positives for this Center. The negatives for me were: I had a 90 minute wait in their waiting room ( crowded, TV blaring, loud conversations between other people waiting); I had only male nurses attending me, they didn't have much of a bedside manner, they were focused mostly on getting me moving through the process as if I were an object, not a person, and the male nurse who administered the anesthetic was actually a bit mocking and sarcastic. The male nurse who inserted the needle into my arm had to try 3 times before he got it right. Afterwards, I got a very uncertain and unconfident female RN who tried to go through the after surgery report hurriedly and brushed off my questions from what looked to me as fearful I would somehow challenge her. So it was a mixed bag of good and bad. Doctor is good, front reception is good, but wait time and all male nurses treating a female patient, all lacking the courteous, compassionate bedside care we'd all like to have-- that could be improved.

I also had been dealing with some aches, pains and numbness in my limbs, sluggishness and brain fogginess. I just thought that it came with getting older or that I needed a healthier lifestyle. Then a few years ago I started having some issues with my ears - getting blocked, itchy and sore. Fast forward to a couple of months ago; I got invited to a luncheon where a couple of doctors would give a short presentation on their new clinic. I thought "what the heck - free food"... yes, I love to eat, (no shame )! At the presentation they mentioned how much subluxation, (when your spine is out of whack), affects so many other parts of your body because of nerves being pinched, etc. From their short presentation, I also heard them mention that chiropractic can help with ear infections and numbness/tingling of the limbs... They were also offering a great deal to come and get an x-ray to see how my spine was and an initial alignment. I thought "what the heck, it's a decent price; if I'm ever going to try this, now is the time". ...and please understand that I was desperate to try anything to fix the issue with my ears! Today: I hate to sound like those witnesses that sound fake, but it's true: ‍ I now believe in chiropractic care because it helped me! My ears completely cleared up and I have zero problems. The numbness and tingling in my limbs is gone. My back and hips have been more limber and pain-free than before. I sleep better, mental clarity is better, even my digestive problems have been better; and as I continue to come in, I feel better! I tell all my family and friends about my turn-around so far, and decided to get onto the web and pass it on to whoever needs to hear it too! Drs. Carlos and Elena have been great with working with me and helping me to achieve better health, and I thank them and their wonderful clinic for that. I had an appointment on April 11 with Ryan Brison to review labs. An abnormality was detected in the urinalysis for which Ryan wrote a script for an antibiotic to be picked up at my local pharmacy in Taos. He also had me provide another sample, which I did. Not receiving any results or a call , I called and was told by the receptionist that the "manager" would review the results and have Ryan call me. No call . I called once again , and spoke to Trucco, who was quite unhelpful and in fact was "rude" himself. He denied that there was a second sample taken. His listening skills are far from a professional standard needed in a medical practice. I received a letter from him today, claiming that I was "again" rude and threaten to terminate me from the practice. There was no previous interaction. Rather then offering an apology, i was presented with denial and offered to return to Sante Fe for another sample. He never even considered suggesting that a referral could be made to Holy Cross hospital and easily obtained by your practice. I highly resent his unprofessional conduct, while also noticing no CC. to the DR. Kingston. I would recommend a disciplinary action. I wish to make it clear that this is not directed to Ryan, just Mr. Trucco's conduct

She acted like she owned the practice. BAD MEDICAL ETHICS! If an established patient has a sinus infection, you do not tell the patient to go to a primary physician; and you do not schedule the patient for two months later. I consider this negligence & malpractice.
