This place has a great vibe. The staff is friendly, the decor is cheerful and the food!!!! It's just amazing. My mother is gluten free and there are plenty of choices for her. My dad can't get enough of the salsa X. Joel (the owner and head chef extraordinaire) gave us a sample of one of the soups that will be on the menu! Yummy!! This is my favorite taco place! These are change your life tacos! Once you have these everything else will be ruined. The first time we went we were starving! Had a 30-45 minute wait. Was not happy. Let me say, well worth the wait, I'd wait an hour for this food. Now, we thought, maybe it was just amazing because we were so hungry so we went back, not disappointed! We've had the carnitas cubanos and that's my favorite! But the mojo pollo and short ribs are also delicious. The avocado salsa, I'd drink that if that wouldn't be weird. Meeting up with my friend on a lowly Sunday lunch out. There were 3 of us. The waiting area is made up of wrought iron outdoor furniture not bad since it had cushions. He said it would be 30 minutes or more to our surprise it was 15 at the most *Bonus* We started with the salsa sampler they were okay nothing knocked my socks off. I had the enchiladas classics Ancho Chile sauce on cheese, I asked for double black beans no rice. I received both. She took my plate scraped the rice off ( because ibcould still see remnants)and brought it back. The Ancho sauce was really sweet in which I was not a fan. We also had to get another server to find ours for a refill on water SEVERAL TIMES. I can't remember what my friend ordered but, when asked for no dairy as she is lactose intolerant the server said No Problem. Her food came with cheese which she tried to scrape off. Her gave me her sour cream. After our lunch she ordered a Maple Candied Bacon Cinnamon Roll for us to share. It was not as big as I thought it would be for the $5 price tag. It was sooo dry no moisture what so ever. I expected layers of cinnamon and sugar throughout out the roll. There was none, no ribbons of yummy goodness to be found anywhere. Only 1 small bit of bacon was found, so wrong. So disappointing. I thought it was overpriced. Sorry just overpriced and NOT to my liking. read more

A friend and I decided to try this place last Friday. There was an hour wait so we decided to sit at the bar and have a margarita. But ... most of the bar stools were occupied by small children! The parents were nearby and obviously waiting for tables but when I asked two different bartenders whether this was even legal, they only shrugged their shoulders. This is obviously not a place to go for just a drink! (There is a waiting area at the front and it was nearly empty so the families could have waited there.) When we did get dinner the service was good. The food is not inexpensive and the quality was spotty but I'll give it another chance since they've only been open 2 weeks. I just hope they'll make their bar into a grownup area! read more

Real deal, freshly cooked food. Stopped by with a co-worker for lunch today. There was a short wait but once seated the service was quick. We had the salsa sampler - 4 very different varieties of salsa but all of them were equally good. You could taste the freshness of the ingredients in everything they served. For lunch we had the Enchiladas Suizas with chicken and the adobo braised short rib plate. There was a garnish slaw the plate that was light and fresh. Food was incredible. I will NEVER go back to El Dorado Cafe off Anderson Lane. After a long Church service, we called to ask what the wait was well into the lunch hour because the wait times are often ridiculous and the food while good is, imho, not THAT good. For a party of three, I was told 15 minutes. When we got there less than 10 minutes later, we were told the wait was 35-40 minutes for us. When I said to the guy at the counter that I had been told just a little while before that the wait was 15 minutes, he claimed there must have been a miscommunication. BS. The person I spoke with VERY CLEARLY stated 15 minutes for a party of three on the phone. UPDATE--The proprietor who responded is incorrect and misstating the facts totally to cover her staff mistake. In fact, when I was told in person that the wait was 3 times as long as what I was told VERY CLEARLY on the phone, I explained calmly what I had been told and said no thanks and walked out. I did place a call after leaving to be clear that o thought it was unacceptable to be told one thing VERY CLEARLY on the phone and a COMPLETELY different take within a matter of probably less than 10 minutes when walking in the store when the staff person INCREDIBLY started to act as if I was nuts for reporting what I VERY CLEARLY was told. At that point, I of course asked to register a complaint with the manager but was put on hold for an extended period and gave up. TERRIBLE experience with this restaurant and mutually agree that it doesn't need my dollars and I don't need its bad service/attitude. Plenty of great places nearby to spend my dollars. I am glad this manager confirmed for me that El Dorado is to be avoided. read more

I'm usually not huge on beans that come on the side at mexican restaurants, but the beans here were notably good. Very friendly and helpful staff who took and delivered my take out order. I really! Wanted to love this place. Inside the space is great. Feels super comfortable. I came here twice in two days with high expectations. I don't think the flavors let me down just the cost of some of the items. I'm not cheap when it comes to lunches I don't mind dropping in the teens for lunch. BUT when you grab a queso and its 9 bucks? That's a little much. Most of the plates are 12-15 bucks which I'd be fine with but the portions are to small for the cost. They Taste great! My family went to El Dorado cafe for breakfast last Sunday during their soft opening. We had a great time. The service was very friendly and professional and the food was delicious. We had breakfast tacos (migas and the Crossing), the cinnamon roll, and the Short Rib Machacado. All the food was great, but the Machacado was the standout. The service was really good, especially considering they weren't fully open for business yet. Our waitress was great with our toddler son. We will definitely be back! read more

Love the food. Decided to stop by today and try out a new place near the neighborhood. Now today was a soft opening, as they open regularly on August 8th. But the atmosphere was awesome, and the coffee was delicious. The only thing missing on the table was some sugar for the coffee (not a straight coffee fan). We ordered the Migas, and some chips and salsa. The chips were prefect and the Salsa X was delicious. When the Migas arrived, the presentation was prefect. Fresh flour tortillas was a welcome sight. Their Migas tasted amazing with just the right amount of spice and flavor. I also had a double order of their potatoes as I am not a fan of black beans. The combination of potatoes, onions, green peppers, and other spices was perfectly balanced and flavorful. I will defiantly be going back. I have to try their margaritas. Manager Adam says they do not use any cheep tequila in their margaritas!!! I also need to try their queso and dinner menu. Two thumbs up!!!! read more

This place is so full of LOVE! We've been 3 times now, and each time has been fantastic. Brunch was delish. My kids had build your own tacos, and they are both obviously culinary geniuses because the tacos turned out fantastic. I had the short rib machacado with eggs. Mmmmmelt in your mouth good beef! My husband had the Nomad. He's had it twice now. Because he loves it. I've also tried the Shauna Wanna Taco Salad. So clever - the best of the old school taco salad (crunchy shell bowl!) with yummy modern ingredients like real, dark green lettuce mix, pickled onions, and real cheese. Choice of black beans or meat. My son also tried the tostadas, and loved them. He had the chicken but they offer other toppings, too, including a veggie option. Eldorado does a great job of making sure they have good vegetarian options while also offering some really yummy meat preparations. And, they can do vegan very easily - just ask! This is the kind of place you love to see move in to your neighborhood - friendly, affordable, delicious and they have an area for kids to hang out AND a lovely little bar lounge area, for adults to hang out. I'm not much of a fan of 'New Mexico' style Mexican food, but thought I'd give this a try since it's in the neighborhood. Started with the house margarita on the rocks - excellent and had a nice kick. For my entree I ordered the 'Enchiladas Classicas'. Food came quickly but when I took one bite I realized the enchiladas were covered in ancho chile sauce, which I hate. This was completely my fault since I didn't read the menu description thoroughly. There was no way I was going to try to send the food back since it was my mistake, but when our server asked me how my meal was I explained my dislike of ancho chile sauce, while assuring her it was nobody's fault but mine. She immediately offered to replace my entree with something else at no charge. I selected the nachos compuestos and they were some of the best nachos I've ever put in my mouth! I love this new place in my neighborhood! It's super cheerful and laid back, plus the menu is really creative. We've only been once so far, but I know I want to try everything. We got delicious margaritas, perfect enchilada verde, and tender, perfect ribs. To start we had something with potato and bacon that I had to stop eating so I would still want dinner. I love that they have a waiting area with kids' books. The kid's menu has a good variety. I can't wait to go back again for breakfast! Oh, ALSO - the chips, salsa, and queso were CRAZY good. Had an amazing brunch here last weekend. In addition to the absolutely delicious food, which speaks for itself (these folks are Mex-Tex -- in that order -- legends, y'all) I just can't say enough about how family friendly it is. Our 1-yr-old was fussing up a storm, and MULTIPLE mama servers scooped her up at different times and walked her around and distracted her so my husband and I could enjoy our migas -- oh my god the migas. Also, they have a changing table in the men's bathroom because IT'S 2017 and THEY ARE AMAZING. Seriously, this is a killer neighborhood joint, warm and bright, comfortable and fun, that also happens to have delicious gourmet grub.
