Was so psyched to see a new breakfast venue in the area and El Dorado did not disappoint! The sweet potato mixed in with hashbrowns and blackbeans was a perfect combo to the migas. Everything seemed fresh and THANK YOU for normal size portions!!! Will be back!! Would like to see some spicy salsa or pico. We were given a paste that was slightly less spicy than bell pepper. Very good restaurant! My parents and I had the chips and salsas for appetizers which were really good! I had the chicken Verde enchiladas for my entree! But save room for some dessert because the chocolate moose was heaven on earth and to die for! They told us an hour wait but thankfully we got to our table in like 20 or 25 minutes! Been here once. Food was good but when I went back on a busy Saturday there was a 30 minute wait. No problem on the wait other than no room to "wait". My bigger problem is when two of the waiters friends walked in and they sat them ahead of everyone else we left. Maybe a personal thing but a lot of people were waiting and it's a just didn't seem like the right thing to do. I took my money elsewhere. read more

The food here is really good and the atmosphere is welcoming. There are lots of great veggie options and nothing is oversalted (which is why i usually dont eat out). I tried these enchaladas with mashed potatoes inside and they were super awesome. You can get breakfast, lunch or dinner and also fantastic drinks. I think they even make their own grapefruit soda. Super nicely decorated, wonderful and smart waitress. Got the joels happy plate with one mashed potato enchiladas instead of 2 cheese (so one cheese, one beef, and one mashed potato) AMAZING. Boyfriend got the enchiladas suiza and the chicken was tender and tasty. Also the salsa sampler is a MUST!! would recomend and also will be back! read more

WOW we just randomly stumbled across this place on a Sunday afternoon. I'm so sad we hadn't found it sooner. The food is beyond AMAZING. I don't even like salsa but I loved theirs and the chips!!? Omg so good. I got cheese enchiladas and the husband got esme's magic(I think) enchiladas which are filled with MASHED POTATOES. Soooooo good I can't stop thinking about this place! Also our waiter was the sweetest, nicest guy in the world. The place seems like it's been there forever but found out it hasn't! Love the vibe, very old school Austin which is so nice. This is now going to be the place that I take friends who visit me in Austin for brunch! My friend and I loved everything about it. First of all, it is pretty unassuming from the outside. The location (although extremely convenient for me) doesn't seem like it would house such a great place, but upon walking inside we saw that the decor was warm, inviting, modern and fun. The employees that greeted us, as well as our server, were genuinely friendly. The bathroom was actually really nice (the Mrs. Meyers spray and the adoptable dog pictures were great touches) and our server offered us coffees to-go, even remembering that I didn't put cream in mine but my friend did. All of those things made for a great and memorable experience that I appreciated, but they were icing on the cake. The FOOD was the real star!! I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and I have already decided that it will now become a staple in my diet. My roommate said the same thing about her Migas. They pay attention to the details that make a dish stand out from the mass of sub-par Tex-Mex in Austin - adding queso fresco and green onion to the black beans, using sweet potatoes and regular potatoes in their hash, the perfectly cooked over-medium egg...we cleared our plates and already want to go back!! Amazing food for the price - specifically the Short Rib Salpicon with CheezNRice and Las Calabasas. This dish was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Enchiladas Classicas was tasty and fresh ( real ingredients!) but not on the same level as the short ribs. This place had a 45 minute wait on a Sunday night. Ordering to go, it took 10 minutes to get our food. read more

We enjoyed some really yummy tex mex and VEGGIES at Eldorado Cafe tonight. I am excited for their future. Plenty for meat eaters, but I think they are committed to give a variety of vegetarian options that include lots of real life veggies, above and beyond beans and rice, although those are good too. Cannot wait to try breakfast which I hear includes some really good vegetarian Biscuits and Gravy!!!!!! Good people own and manage this place, I think they will be an awesome addition to our area. We had one of the salsas which I regret to say I don't know the name of that was yummy. I had the Hongos(mushrooms) with mojo veg and Calabasas(squash) and it was all really good and nice to have well cooked vegetables that were super delectable but not overly guilt inducing. We had a good meal with them months ago when they were still doing their pop up nights at Dia's Market and I am excited for their real shop. Their sandanista and mango margarita were tasty too. definitely nothing disappointed. They were also able to feel my more simple veg husband and kids with tasty nachos, beans and rice. eating with the whole family makes you appreciate places who will accommodate different tastes and kids. read more

This was one of our main event brunch places before the pandemic hit in 2020 and we finally went back for the first time in a couple years. It's still good but it probably will be taken out of our roster for go-to brunch places. Why? Two reasons: 1.) They no longer are open on Sundays (like, SERIOUSLY? This is my boyfriend and I's ideal day to do brunch, having a brunch place that isn't open Sundays is like having a bar that closes at 5pm) and 2.) They also without warning stopped serving breakfast items on the menu after 11am (would have been nice if their menu or website said something about this!). The food overall is still pretty good and the sauces they bring out are amazing (get the salsa X!) and portions are good though the enchiladas I had were in a cream that was a bit sour for my taste. I'd like to review based on the breakfast but once again I can't because I came here expecting it and then when we got our order taken at 11:15 they said they weren't serving breakfast anymore. Hopefully next time I get to try it and see if it's still good, but with their new days of operation and breakfast hours who knows when that will even be. Whatta shame! read more

Very nice place to go and enjoy very good Mexican cuisine and great service. It was an impulse stop that was wonderful. They allow me to create my own tacos. I choose to have 2 tacos of beef carnitas, which was nice and crispy, with grilled mushrooms, cilantro and avocados. It was really great. Even our waiter was planning to get one for himself. One of my favorite restaurants in the area. I have done eat-in at the bar and many many to go orders and the enchiladas are amazing. I loved the friendly bar staff and my friend loved all of her dishes as well. There can be a long line, but the bar is totally a fun way to maybe help with that and make a new friend. read more

Great fresh food with a Tex-Mex/Farm to table vibe. Any of the specials is worth ordering. Also their breakfast/brunch menu is worth the wait (or just go a little early). Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer my dumb questions about the menu, ingredients and their favorites. The owner is always in greeting people and checking to make sure everything is great. He's one of those people who remembers everyone and actually cares so I always leave happy knowing I'm supporting someone that's in it to spread the food joy. read more

We all loved this place! Very tasty food that is higher quality than most joints. It's a bit more Mexican than Tex-mex and food is closer to Fonda San Miguel than Chuys. Atmosphere is upscale strip center. Nice drinks, apps, and food choices. We will be back! read more

These place have great service however mediocre food. Party of 16 people which never been to this place until today. We were charged for the salsa that was brought out with the chips at the table. Why waiter never mentioned that all the sauces they bring to the table have to be paid for. NEVER had I Ever been to a Mexican Restaurant that charged for the sauce for the chips. I requested a little sour cream for my taco I was charged 75 cents is a miracle they didn't charged us for the napkins & the water. Never ever will be coming back to this place. read more

Original Review- Our food and drinks were excellent both visits. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The dessert was disappointing. It was a pie served in a cast iron skillet that had been washed in a dishwasher. I could taste the soap, it was inedible. I stopped eating it and expressed my dissatisfaction to both an owner and an employee. Both apologized but neither offered a replacement or refund which I found disappointing and inconsistent with the level of service we received otherwise. Will be back but will skip dessert or anything served in a cast iron skillet next time. read more

Consistently great! This has become our go to breakfast spot over the last year. Even when we switch it up from our usual- Freddie's plate, Matt's Everything Taco, Nomad plate- we have never left disappointed. I have attempted to re create the potato hash breakfast side at home (mine doesn't compare) because it is so unique and flavor filled. I am a harsh Mexican food critic so the fact that we have been pleased with every menu item we have tried at breakfast, lunch, or dinner is a huge win! read more

I'm writing this review because of their outstanding customer service and, of course, delicious food. We ordered a large order of breakfast tacos, and some of them were missing and some were made incorrectly. They made the missing tacos and remade the incorrect ones without question, as well as personally delivered them to our office. I've been here for dinner and Sunday morning breakfast at 8am with my kiddos. Really enjoyed both meals. I had a 40 minute wait on a Wednesday night but I just had a couple Palomas to tide me over. I preferred their Paloma over their mango margarita but that was good too. The food is just really tasty. Everything from the entrees down to their sides of beans, rice and Calabasas are scrumptious and you can tell somebody is cooking back there with soul. Flour tortillas appear to be homemade and delicious. Blueberry biscuit was good. Before they opened I had visited their pop-up at Dias Market several times and their last night at Dias they had sold out of their menu items early but asked if they could make us a chef's special dinner for free with other ingredients they had left. Wow this place was great! Outstanding customer service. Warning get there early or you will wait 45 min. We ended up finding a seat at the bar and the bartenders were friendly, service was fast. You have to try the salsa sampler. There are some vegetarian options...BIG BONUS for me. Veggie enchiladas were yummy. Also got side of mojo veg & las Calabasas - Yum! Oh the drinks were delish!
