After parking in the lot off Melville Ln, we basically walked through a small forest to get on to the trail at the back of one of the baseball fields. Soon came a creek with stepping stones over it, then the real fun began. Clearly parking is no issue here, and this park has more than one entry point. All in all though, the trails are flat and either paved or easy on the feet, and there's more than one bridge and some benches along the trail. I appreciate this green space being maintained and available to the community.

Probably saw a handful other dogs but everyone had their dogs leashed and paths were wide enough to avoid any confrontations. Everyone was very friendly and respectful and the trail was adjacent to a slow flowing creek. It was a very pleasant walk/jog that does go by several suburby neighborhoods but all in all, very enjoyable path.

Colonial farmers and adventurers from New York, came down to resettle and work the lands around hills at this site. There is an info stand, some benches, about 20 car spots and trails that lead you to the Sully home above the knoll, overlooking the fields. The main building also doubles as a - I am going to call it, a motel or Youth Hostel (or something or other) - sleep over in the Summer. The caretakers were busy posting flyers and moving supplies, but I for the life of me could not figure out why the main road to the Sully home was CLOSED! The Sully site home is regal, although a bit olden and dilapidated (paint peeling etc.), and the grounds seemed in real need of a professional landscaper. All about were elderly visitors, who all were forced to walk the long windy trails in the sizzling, burning Virginia heat. Sully Site: get your hours straight and open up the roads so folks twice my age can enjoy them too! What's up with that?? Wide, fancy, rolling-hilled historic site which was used on and off by Confederate soldiers as a makeshift field hospital for those who had been maimed by the Union Army. Sully Site sits West of D.C., and because it was in Virginia, was a great vantage point for a flow of information on the Capitol: both from the North and the South. Peaceful. I came here without expectations and open to what I would see. The area is very walkable.There's a visitor center . It has information and artifacts from the property . It's also where tour tickets can be purchased .I was able to tour the grounds, including the recreated enslaved quarters. I was able to go inside of the enslaved quarters. Some of the buildings are undergoing renovations and can only be viewed from the outside. This includes the main house.The guide stood in the middle of the grassy area and talked about the main house. He also showed pictures of the inside. Yes, this area was part of the Underground Railroad , but not as a beacon of freedom. It is also on the national registry of historic places. Owned by north Virginia's first congressman and his family this was a working plantation. At one point it was also used by confederate soldiers. Give yourself at least 45 minutes for the grounds.

Attended an event in this beautiful space. So nice to be on the farm and look out into the…read moreproperty. The event room held about 100 guests plus tables for a large buffet and a stage. The weather was great and parking was plentiful. When I arrived I noticed the staff did not have the room prepared for the party people to set up- tables were locked in a closet with the chairs- which caused the event to start late and ALL hands on deck to help get it up- the staff agreed to an extra hour because they failed to have the room prepped- so as an attendee I was happy and said great they are making it better- However once our extra hour was the start a new and extremely rude employee denied the previous grant- she was awful to us yelling about trash. And inserting herself in the party. She stood over one of the servers and was so rude to him. This I felt was unacceptable and such a poor reflection on the event space. The only way I would ever come back is I was assured in writing accommodations and that same older woman was not working.

Had a super awesome time exploring this historic trail which follows the cuts and fills of the…read moreunfinished grade of the Manassas Gap railroad. During the second battle of Manassas the embankments were heavily defended by Stonewall Jackson's troops against the attacks of the vigorous federal troops in Late August of 1862. The trail was well maintained with descriptive and separate signs showing the points of view of the Union and Confederate combatant of the conflict at Deep Cut and vicinity. The trailhead at Featherbed lane is easy to find and there is ample parking. Best to go during the early morning when it's not so hot. The river was relaxing, the views were gorgeous, and the whole day just felt easy and fun. A huge shoutout to Spider, our guide, who truly went above and beyond. Not only did he keep the energy high with great vibes and a friendly attitude, but he also made sure everyone was safe and accounted for throughout the float. We noticed him picking up trash along the way. So awesome to see someone taking care of the river and setting a great example. He really cared about both the people and the environment. If you're thinking about doing a tubing trip in Harpers Ferry, this is the place to go--and if you're lucky enough to get Spider as your guide, you're in for a great time!

It offers 10 multi-level fitness stations along a paved path. It begins on Justice Dr and Londontown Terrace and ends at Braddock Road near Freedom High School. The trail lane is very wide compacted black tar with slight 1'075 negative grade on both edge or lips as one of my graduate civil engineering professors preferred as the lingo. The trail is so sexy wide that it is easy for people to swing by. Speaking of swingers, apparently if you (or any house or any property) have white rock or pebbles they are certified "SWINGERS" and proud of it.
