First called to see if it was busy an hour before showing up, said no and hung up immediately. Made us want to go somewhere else but decided to give it a shot. Walked in at 6pm on a Monday with no wait and its seat yourself. Shorter white dude came over with a hat and green khaki shorts but who am I to judge. Just handed a menu and probably would consider "shitty" service. Walked away came back with water but probably required by them. Had to ask for straws which is annoying when they walk away for 10 mins at a time without checking up. Came back got straws and ordered loaded fries as an app. Waited abt 10-15 for the appetizer. Was $14 for a bowl sized of fry's, pricy but they were good. Portion just small with minimum toppings. Food came out abt 15 mins after which was decent for a slow night. Food was good but did only get wings and a burger which is hard to f up. Only complaint is kind of about service. Didnt try much tho as im not from here and probably wouldn't go back again. read more

I was hungry after shooting a pool one night with a friend at the Virginian. As you enter the restaurant, it feels like you are walking into a wine cellar which turns into a sports bar. It's a little bit dark inside but right enough that you can see where you are going. I got a Caesar Salad and a chicken quesadilla. The salad was ok I could've made a better one at home the quesadilla was really good though. The service was alright. Our waiter came by the table twice during our meal. Decent place! You need to walk through the liquor store to get to the restaurant. The service is OK, the food is good, and they do allow kids which is nice. Actually called Eleanor's Again! This place was great. So much so that we decided to have it two days in a row. It is tucked in the back of a liquor store, which opens up into a fun bar atmosphere. All in the family lamented we'd not found this place earlier in the trip, as we'd have certainly gone more than once. This place was a very welcome break from the high priced mediocre pubgrub dining we'd come to expect in resort towns such as Jackson. We got wings, a burger and two orders of birria tacos. Burger good, not fantastic, but tacos and wings were both outstanding. Cool basement-feel sports bar ambiance (great for game watching), and friendly capable wait service. our best meal in Jackson during our week visit, and 2/3 the cost of other similar category joints on/near the square. think $70 for 4, as opposed to $110/$120. Very highly recommended, for all but those who need linen tablecloths and a hostess. read more

This place is a cool hidden bar in Jackson, Wyoming. It has a great feel to it. They serve drinks and incredible food here. Family friendly even. I got the Buffalo chicken wedge salad. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Sports playing on many TVs surrounding. It was clean not super rowdy. You enter through a small liquor store to get inside. The server we had was very rude and walked away before we could even order our drinks. If he doesn't like working with the public, he should not be in the service industry. I picked up food to-go, so I can't comment too much on the service, but the bar-tender who helped me out was polite and quick. And the food came out before I finished the beer I ordered for the wait. I ordered the southwest salad and the buffalo wings. The salad was good but could have used a bit more dressing than the small plastic tub it came with. But the spring mix was fresh and the chicken well spiced. And it was very large. The wings, buffalo flavor, were great! I will certainly get those again. And the blue cheese is really good. Yikes! With covid hitting the area we were happy to see the kitchen staff wearing gloves and face masks. However, the line cook in the back (which you can easily view from the bar area) was eating with her gloved hands; moving floor mats with these same gloved hands; and, still working the grill. She even wiped her nose with her gloves after she pulled down her mask to eat. I know these things happen all the time at many places; but, with heightened hygiene awareness taking place these days, try being a bit more diligent with the basics. I searched for "Restaurants" and "Open Now" around 10:15pm on a Saturday evening while visiting Jackson. We were delighted to see Eleanor's pop up under the search (the only non-fast food option open past 10pm) and immediately drove there. We arrived around 10:20 and found out the kitchen actually closes at 10pm, and it is only a bar past that time (not a restaurant as Yelp claimed). We decided to use the restroom before leaving and while in the ladies room alone, a man walked in and stood outside the stall door looking through the wide open gaps in between the stalls at me (while I was using the restroom). It wasn't until I confronted him that he quickly left the ladies room. Needless to say I grabbed my group and we got out of there super quickly. To summarize - don't expect food past 10pm and be very aware of who walks in to the ladies room if you're in there alone! read more

I decided to call and do the courteous thing and ask if their kitchen was still open about a half hour before close instead of showing up unannounced with five other people. The literal quote was "hey bud is your kitchen still open?" It was asked at just after 11:35pm. The response was "well I don't think any kitchen in the county is open." The tone was pretty damn obvious that he thought it was stupid that I was asking the question. Get soaked buddy, you live in a tourism town. The idiots are "open" until 12am per yelp. Their food could be really dope and their drink selection could be solid. I have no clue, and likely never will because getting treated like a giant swinging **** for taking the courteous route is the only treatment you can reasonably expect here. It's almost worth going to this place just so you can walk through a liquor store to get to the bar. There is zero chance I would have discovered this place if not for Yelp. Anyway, you go past all the bottles of booze to find a cool bar in the back. When I was there, Jason the bartender seemed to be the only employee. And he seemed overwhelmed. Despite getting zero help from anyone else, he served tables and tended bar. Well done, Jason. I ordered the bison burger with bacon and a side of tater tots. Everything was delicious, although I thought the bacon was dry and overcooked. This is also the kind of place where you can eat peanuts and chuck the shells on the ground. So, you know, casual. It's a bar! But it's really a good one with honest drinks and much better food than you find in most bars. I'm having some bourbon with my wings salad. Nice idea and they pull it off well. For the salad, their version of wings is really chicken slices that have a light crispy batter and the requisite spicy sauce. Comes with an iceberg wedge chopped tomatoes and onions and dressed with a blue cheese dressing. Really hit the spot! read more

We found Eleanor's by pure luck. We had great service the staff was very friendly, better than the novity places in town. The food we had was very good. Loved my Chicago dog, and the soups were great. We had dinner there 3 nights and did not have anything bad. Nelson one of the bartenders was super nice. Peering into the kitchen from the bar, empty just after opening, during the whole Covid Era, it was disheartening, to say the least, to see someone being so careless with hygiene.
