We had a nice experience here. We tried the David's chopped salad but switched the dressing with the beat salad (honey citrus vinaigrette) as it sounded really good. This was indeed a pro move. We also had the Faroe island salmon which, at $43 was too expensive, but was really good (in a previous menue picture I looked at it was $34). Finally, both my wife and I enjoyed the huckleberry cosmo. Our waiter did a good job of selling us on the desert. Not sure where to start... The place is decorated in a cool way but after walking in everything went downhill. We sat down and were asked if we wanted the shades pulled down but we said we liked the light and enjoyed having them open. Shortly after that a group sat at the table next to us and the waitress closed the blinds completely without saying anything to us. If the light was in someone's eyes I totally support lowering them a bit but it was 4pm and if you're going to ask every table if they want them open or closed and you end up with two next to each other having opposing opinions then just ask if the other table minds ifs lowered partially or let them know what you're doing. Frustrating because we chose to eat here specifically for a view of the mountain. Secondly we asked our waitress for ranch and when she brought out our waters out she brought ketchup and said she'd be right back with the ranch. Our food then came and we asked the guy who brought it to bring some ranch but that never came. I wouldn't care much about it if the burger wasn't completely flavorless (which I'll touch on in a moment). Then we finally were able to get some ranch when the host walked by and he was great and brought it to us right away but having to ask 3 times for some ranch was frustrating. If this was all and the food was great, I'd let all this go BUT the burger (which we added bacon to) was completely flavorless. For a burger to have meat cheese and bacon and still taste like nothing is impressive. When the ranch finally came...it was awful. I've genuinely never met a ranch I didn't like until this one. It tasted like chemicals. Everyone at the table tried it and agreed. I didn't try the wings that others at table had so I can't comment on them myself but there weren't any good reviews from that side of the table either. You can't ski a day at Jackson and skip a visit to the Mangy Moose - it's the best spot for an apres, post ski snacks, or just a killer environment to people watch and enjoy. I always stop in, sometimes multiple days in a row and the service and food are always consistent. It's a lively environment and can be competitive to get seating at, but they have seating upstairs as well. The service is great for a bar, but it is a bar, so it will be a little more infrequent. If you're here for a good time, get some nachos, do the shot ski, and sit back to enjoy the music! read more

Stopped in for a light lunch after riding the Sky Tram back down from the mountain. This is a beautiful ski resort in the Teton Village. We were here early October, no snow yet so not very crowded. It has a warm welcoming atmosphere. In the middle of the room a large moose hung from the ceiling. We chose to dine outside on the deck overlooking the beautiful mountain. The waitress was quick to take our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. My husband ordered a dozen wings with a whiskey, pineapple sauce. The wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious. The wings also come with a nice amount of celery and carrots and ranch dressing. I ordered the kale salad which had raisins, nuts, and a delicious vinaigrette dressing. It was served on a plate not very large for its price. I did end up having a few of the wings. Shout out to management as we did notice we were only served 11 wings and mentioned it to the waitress and they ended up bringing out another dish of about five wings with carrots and celery. Most popular saloon/bar/eatery in teton village. I "broke-the-bank" and chose the fried chicken wings with the whiskey chilli dressing since they were highly rated and they did not disappoint. Washing the flavors down with one of the house local draft brews created the perfect match. My partner had an excellent tasting yoder chopped Kale salad, sans protein otherwise it would have cost an additional and unwarranted +$11-$14, depending on type, as the base price was already $15. Cost aside, you will surely enjoy the scenery both inside and out. If weather permits, I recommend outside seating to enjoy the gorgeous views of Mt Rendezvous. read more

The table was dirty, I cleaned it to waitress and she just left dirty napkins on table. Ask for brown moose beer. She brought me the light moose beer the argued with me till I showed her the brown on the menu. Then I ordered a wedge salad it was a toss green salad. I spoke with the manager he said he would take of the bill since the waitress stormed off with the salad with a way attitude. The servers were friendly and sat us down quickly (we also did have a reservation, which I'd recommend even though this is casual dining because the place can get busy). We ordered one of their flatbreads with meat and this was our favorite dish. They were generous with the meat and it was well seasoned. The ribs were pretty good too and not overly saucy. The meat fell right off the bones which was a bonus. One of the best parts of this place is the environment. I'd recommend sitting outside as you get a nice view of the mountains and you can see the moose get pretty close and watch them enjoy their meal as well. Ambiance was nice, We sat outside at first and then went inside for a final drink to say hi to some friends inside. The bartender was totally on top of his game and that was nice to watch. While at the bar the waitress makes the Bartender cash me out (not allowing my tab to be opened). Then the waitress proceeds to provide NO service to my table. This place is the armpit of Wyoming. We showed up with high hopes walking in and seeing a sign for their world famous saloon (which I don't think anybody has ever heard of). As soon as we got in they slapped us right into seats facing the sun, practically blinding, even though the rest of the restaurant was completely open. When we finally got to our table, we ordered appetizers and drinks. The drinks were fine because we got water. The appetizers were smaller than expected and subpar. Then we got to the food. We looked over the menu several times and couldn't decide what to settle on even though our waitress came every second to ask us if we were ready. We got the elk stroganoff, the salmon, the bison pizza, and a salad. First off, everything that we got was filled with all of the common riddlers (slang for things you don't really want in your food but are there anyway). But by far the worst thing was the onions. In the stroganoff, there was more onions than noodles and elk combined. The elk was very scarce and tasted chewy and terrible when you could scavenge a piece. The pizza had this awful texture and taste, the dough was reminiscent of play-do, barely cooked, and the huckleberry bison sausage that had the consistency of leather. I mean I get that Wyoming has huckleberries but they were trying to fit them in anything possible. There were so many onions in the pizza you couldn't tell if you were biting into the tragic dough or pools of worm-like onions. Same thing with the salad. My brother had a pile stacked on his plate that he said was onions and other riddlers that were not acceptable. The only thing decent was the salmon that was the quality of a pregnant creek chub, which compared to the rest of the food is top notch. The place had a very interesting environment with stuffed animals everywhere. Some animals had such a bad taxidermy job you couldn't tell them from the roadkill meat on my plate.
