Went for Taco Tuesday with a friend which was not advertised on any menu and the server did not say anything, I had to ask if there was a special. We ordered chips and salsa to start. The chips you could tell were homemade and very good! It was hard to decipher some of the salsas. Overall we were disappointed in the tacos. I got the chicken, steak and grouper. My friend got the chicken, pork, and grouper. There was no consistency in the tacos. We both got chicken and they looked and tasted different. Mine had no flavor and my friends was super spicy. My friend enjoyed the grouper taco however it was too fishy tasting for me. The steak was basic. read more

Great drinks, decent food! I went for half off tacos and it was moderately crowded. I was able to sit at the bar with no difficulty. I was immediately served and started with the Electric Lime. What appealed to me the most about it was the combination of lavendar and orange flavors. My first two tacos were the shrimp and bean/cheese. The shrimp tacos were a little dry to me and the bean and cheese was sort of bland. I would have loved to try the steak tacos but they were out the day I went. One of the bar tenders recommended the cauliflower taco, which ended up being my favorite. It was packed with vegetables and wasn't overly fried. The cessna was my favorite drink of the night! Atmosphere was pretty lively. They had a dj playing decent music and it was well decorated. Bartenders are super friendly and welcoming. I had the opportunity to reserve the for Back Room for a birthday party and have unlimited open bar and food with a group around 25+ attendees. It was a blast. They have an amazing sound system, a stage that is the oldest in Milwaukee. I am impressed with the space, the owners Jess and Tom really thought this through and so happy they hosted and really made everything run smoothly! Their food and drinks are fantastic, I cannot speak more highly of their high ability food, drinks, and the venue. Really solid taco place in Milwaukee downtown area. I got a to-go order for one shrimp taco and one pork taco. Also got the elote in a cup and it really hit the spot. Tacos are a little on the pricier side, with the total coming to around $20. The inside gave a really cool bar vibe that would be great to hang out with friends and get a drink. The highly anticipated re-opening of Electric Lime has arrived in their new space at Cathedral Square. I stopped in for Taco Tuesday last night with a friend. We shared the Queso Fundido with refried black beans and vegan chorizo. He ordered the Chicken taco and Potato taco, and I ordered the Grilled Grouper, Carnitas and Gringo (seasoned ground beef on housemade hard shell) tacos, and everything was delicious. Everything is made fresh from scratch, including the chips and tortillas! Tonight I went back for the Wednesday quesabirria tacos special, which were amazing, among the best I've had! I added a side of rice and black beans, which were also on point with flavors and textures! For dessert, I tried their Chocotaco, which is also made from scratch, including the vanilla ice cream! For those who miss the old frozen Choco Taco, this one will help you forget that version. It's insanely good! Time for you to go to Electric Lime! read more

Wow! Just wow! Ok more than wow, went here for the first time a few weeks ago and have returned twice since. The fajitas, have tried just about every taco, the shrimp cocktail, guacamole, queso fundido are all phenomenal! If you love margaritas get a marg. If you love palomas... get a pitcher! The pina colada is a perfect dessert cocktail. Servers are also friendly and efficient. They are very accommodating to allergens, and make their best effort. Music and vibes are spot on. Anyone else fortunate enough to have experienced Electric Lime after a night at Dicks or 720? We were drawn in by the neon lights but the food fell flat on flavor. The queso was giving that it came out of a jar. The elote was ok, just prefer more cheese. The tacos were our least favorite while the taquitos weren't bad. This is a cute little taqueria. The employee uniforms and decorations are fun and chic, and the servers and bartender were all very nice. We came for Taco Tuesday, and all of their tacos were available for their special. I got the grouper and the grilled steak...honestly, neither of them were very good. A little surprising and disappointing for a taco place. What was good? Our chips and guacamole, the cocktails (I got the "electric lime" because I love butterfly pea-infused anything for its fun purple color), and the rice & beans were surprisingly generous and flavorful (seasoned well - not your normal plain Jane beans.) After being closed for two years to relocate, Electric Lime has reopened and is better than ever. Although this was my first time here, it won't be the last. They get it right here, from the food, drinks, decor, and atmosphere. And it's women-owned! I dined with a friend and we both raved about how good it was. We each got three tacos. I ordered the shrimp, steak, and carnitas. I'm still deciding what's my favorite between the three. I would eat 50 in a sitting if I could. I also got a piña colada to wash it all down. We were at a party at Electric Lime on Saturday night. I cannot express how wonderful and experience it was. There's a private party room with a bar and they also reserved the two high top tables in the main bar for us. The food was outstanding and plentiful. The serving tables were never empty, and there were tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and a ton of other food. The two servers that we had , Annalee and Finley were absolutely spectacular. They were really working their tails off, always in motion, always with a smile on their face, making sure that everybody had drinks and warm food. Love this place- great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. The corn shells are homemade and delicious. The guac and homemade chips were fresh and flavorful. I am picky about guac and I would come back here for the guac. If you don't like spicy and order the pollo taco, ask for the sauce on the side. It has a kick. Our steak tacos were also spicy, but our server seemed surprised and said that's usually not the case. They have a big selection of craft tequilas if that's your thing. Delicious hand crafted margaritas. If you are gluten free almost everything is gf except for the burritos, quesadillas and desserts. This was our first time at this restaurant and we loved it! We consider ourselves a bit of foodies and we have had Mexican cuisine in many places. This place ranks high on the list. We tried the mocktails ginger drink and a spicy one with jalapeño, both were amazing. We had the guacamole and chips which were both phenomenal and fresh. The Owner (Jess) came to see how we were doing and we had a great conversation about the history and ideas behind the restaurant. It was great talking with her and her staff - everyone was so nice. All their food and drinks have health in mind and you can tell by the taste that the ingredients and flavors are spot on. We had grouper, fish and pork tacos - all tasted great. And for a finale the homemade churros and Ice cream were the best we ever had - soft, warm, pull apart, with chocolate on top. We will definitely come back when we are back in town (from Chicago). Flautas were a bit disappointing. Most things were perfectly flavored but a couple were pretty lacking, and it was hard to tell whether it was accidental. They could stand to use a heavier hand with sauces/garnishes, generally. Overall I loved it & could see it being a regular spot once you find the best things on the menu. read more

I just came home from dinner at Electric Lime and I have to say, I was blown away by this spot - the drinks, the food, the service, the whole vibe. 11/10. I dined with my husband and another couple who were also first timers. We had a drink at the bar while waiting for our friends and the bartender was so friendly and attentive, giving advice to my husband who couldn't decide on his drink. We were quickly seated and were taken care of by our server, Jess, who is also the owner. She could not have been more lovely and wonderful - checking in on us throughout the meal, giving recommendations, and overall just bringing such a nice and positive energy to the meal. It's the little things. Like bringing everyone a little shot of frozen margarita to try before ordering. (Which by the way, you must order!) Truly everything we ate was fantastic - especially loved the al pastor taco and the nachos, but it was all delicious. Our friends are vegetarian and they enjoyed the numerous options for veggie tacos and appetizers. We even got our nachos with soy chorizo. The churros and housemade choco taco for dessert were also phenomenal - you could just tell that everything was prepared thoughtfully and with fresh ingredients.
