    CHIPS & LARGE GUAC
    Marissa P.

I've been to Cafe Corazon before, but my most recent visit was my favorite. I ordered the taco salad for the first time and it will be my new go-to dish. The taco shell bowl was perfectly crunchy and it came with guac and pickled jalapeños. Also the Thai basil lemonade was SO delicious. I don't think I've ever had a better lemonade--the level of sweetness was perfection. We sat on the patio that had cute floral table cloths. Also, our waiter was so friendly--he truly seemed to enjoy his job which made the experience for my friends and I even more enjoyable. I will definitely be back soon because I know I'll be craving that taco salad!!

We enjoyed a nice Sunday lunch on the patio yesterday. We were greeted very warmly and offered complimentary chips and dip, which were delicious. I had fajitas with tofu, and my dining partner had a salmon enchilada. Service was quick and friendly. I had not had fajitas in a while, and this was the first time I had them with tofu. I recollect enjoying them in the past better with chicken, but tofu was ok too. No complaints as I chose it!! My companion, who is not a fan of Mexican food said the enchilada was ok. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The patio is great, especially since the inside was pretty noisy.

Great brunch spot in Bayview. I had the Pig Out Torta which I would highly recommend. We sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. They also offer many vegan options and have a happy hour durning the week!

Went with wifey for lunch today. Mejor Margarita was on point and the "Best Burrito" more than lived up to its name. Yucatán pork with pickled onions, pinto beans, green and red enchilada sauce, lime crema!! At mosphere was chill and very cool. Fabulous neighborhood stop. Can't wait to go back!

You can never go wrong at Cafe Corazon. This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, and this visit did not disappoint. Bonus points for the 90s playlist we were rocking out to this day :) We had no wait at all to get a table, and they accommodated our party of several adults and two small children right away for a weekend lunch. I had the chilaquiles with chicken and salsa verde, which is my favorite thing on the menu. Flavor was spot-on and I like how they have both eggs and another protein in the dish (some places do either/or and that's just not complete to me). My dining companions enjoyed their quesadilla and huevos divorciados. The salsas here are excellent.

A great vibe -- they have funky art and the servers are very kind. The food was ok, I got the shrimp tacos and the shrimp wasn't super seasoned or flavorful, but still yummy and definitely fresh. The salsa was delicious -- I added it to all my tacos.

Cafe Corazon serves up flavorful Mexican eats in a quirky environment. Came here recently for dinner and had a great experience. First of all--love that they have salmon dishes on the menu. If you follow my Yelp at all, you know this girl pretty much orders salmon if a place serves salmon (living in the Northwest for many years made a salmon lover out of me). I ordered the salmon burrito. It was incredibly flavorful, with avocado, rice, and juicy salmon. Zero complaints--it was great! The service was attentive and the prices are reasonable. We were fascinated by all the religious art on the walls. Get to it!

Always excellent service and excellent food. Great options for proteins if you are vegan or vegetarian. And lots of options for proteins if you want meat. All freshly made and all delicious

    Vegan enchiladas with mole sauce
    Matt B.

I came here because of the many vegan options, including a devoted vegan section of the menu that boasts 5 options. I got the vegan enchiladas ($13), which come with two enchiladas with a choice of protein -- I got soy chorizo for one, and tofu for the other. The dish comes with black beans and rice, or a side salad (+$3), and with a choice of red, green or mole (+$1) sauce -- I got the mole. The meal came out in about 10 minutes. The soy chorizo was prohibitively salty, almost to the point of being unpalatable. The tofu was less salty. But the mole sauce was also so salty that it made the soy chorizon even saltier and the tofu still too salty. I am not sure what happened here. Is this the norm, or do the chef's hand slip when dumping the salt in? Jeez -- they need to fix this. The rice and beans were fine, though nothing interesting. It's a nice spot and I appreciate all the vegan options, but my experience wasn't great because due to the hypertension-inducing meal.

Cafe corazon is great! We got seated right away on a Friday night. The food was good quality with fresh salsa and flavorful meat. The servers were very kind and helpful.

Cafe corazon wet burrito with carnitas and refried pintos, so good!
    Liz A.

This place is consistently good!! My first review here was 5 stars and I will continue to give 5 stars. I used to be obsessed with their wet burritos. While still good, I have shifted gears towards their taco truck dinner. I love their pork pibil tacos with corn tortillas. So good! I love the efficiency. When you walk in, prior to being seated they ask if you want chips, do you want to add guacamole or queso dip. We always want to add queso dip. You also have the opportunity to place your drink order then too. Sometimes I order my margarita then, sometimes I want until reviewing the drink menu. They have a nice patio though I find myself choosing to inside because I like their booths. My only complaint is that I don't like their red chairs. They are metal and gave that back that causes your coat or purse to slide off. I know I'll be back because this is one of our go to spots.

Probably the best Mexican food I've had in a long long time. The tacos were LOADED with meat and everything had great flavor. I got the chicken, beef and carnitas for my meats. Service was fast and friendly and we were seated right away. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

    COMBO WET DINNER BURRITO

Do you want a hipster taco on a cute patio with great margaritas? If you said no, this is not the place for you. If you said yes, welcome to Cafe Corazon. The food is so good and fresh, with beautiful presentation. The food portions are generous, except for the tiny cup of salsa that comes in a plastic sauce container. I think this is my one complaint. First why such a small serving of salsa?! The people of Milwaukee need more salsa!!! Second for a place in bayview, full of the most eco-conscious people in the state next to Madison, why are we giving single serve plastic for something that could easily be in a reusable container? Please consider changing this practice. I'm sure this went into place during covid, but I do not understand why it is still happening. If you happen to visit when the patio is open, DO NOT SIT INSIDE! If they ask where you would like to sit, AUTOMATICALLY SAY "PATIO". This is a whole beautiful patio vibe and we only get 4 months to enjoy patio season here so do not even consider hesitation. Inside is fine for Oct-May, these are the rules. Now go hop over to the patio before it's to late and order a house margarita.

He went early to get our bake on the list and they were spot on with the wait time. We did sit outside which I think sped things up. We all ordered an assortment of coffee beverages. There are so many great options on the menu and I was torn between three. Luckily one of my friends was torn between two of the same ones I was looking at so she split them. The spam omelette was delicious and paired well with the Johnny cakes. The Johnny cakes are massive and we ended up both taking leftovers home of that. The orange blossom syrup was really good with it. Our server was attentive and stayed on top of water refills which was appreciated as it was a warm day to be eating outside. Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. I was standing there waiting for her, like IN HER WAY! Smiling and all! lol this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The whole vibe here is that of a toxic work environment, starting with the hostesses that have zero and I mean ZERO interest in your experience as a customer of this establishment. Frankly makes me feel sorry for the owners when they have staff like this working for them. I had to walk away from two drinks we ordered on the way out because of the second hostess's attitude with us!!! She was so rude to the lady that prepared our drinks! Than was rude to us? People just don't understand sometimes that they are in the wrong field and we as customers don't have to put up with their attitude wherever it may be coming from. It's a pass for me, sorry Xavier we won't be coming back! We ordered a skillet, burrito, and harvest hash. Everything was great and came out quickly! What the restaurant is lacking is in overall aesthetic and cleanliness. It seems unfinished inside, has chipped paint, the canvas on the seats is ripping, and the floors were quite dirty where we were seated. We visited when there was only an hour left of them being open, and the staff made it seem like they were wanting to close up. If some of these items are addressed, this place has potential to be really great!

We really wanted to Brunch It Up...we love a good brunch place...so much. We left wishing we'd gone…read moresomewhere else. Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.
