First time taking my vehicle there. Charged me a hours worth of work for a "simple fix" that was easily diagnosed. I asked if it was a simple fix, what took up the rest of the hour? No answer was given and I was handed the receipt. Grease was left on the handles of my car. This feels like a money grab. I will not be returning. read more

I had gotten an estimate for labor on a clutch kit, and exhaust manifold install a week ago. The price seemed fair enough and the man I talked to seemed polite enough, so when the parts showed up I went back in. The second experience started with a man in a work shirt shouting, "No, no, no, no, no, no . . ." as I was putting my car in their parking lot. Like most mechanics, the lot ebbs and flows with cars. Today was, I guess, a busier day. So right away, we're off to a bad start in the customer service department. I'm not sure why he though I'd be able to tell that he was shouting that at me, or what the heck he was trying to tell me, but I think he realized that maybe something of substance was in order. He came over to bark at me to "put it next to the green Kia," before wandering off to move another car that was parked literally right next to where I had parked. The man just wanted to tell me to put the car in a different spot, but decided that shouting and rudeness were in order. Right away, that put a sour taste in my mouth. I'm not trying to make your day worse, sir. I'm happy to put my car wherever you want, but there's a nice way to say that. There's a nice way to ask a customer to do something helpful for you. Whatever. He must be having a bad day. They look a little busy, so I'll look past it and go find an adult. I went inside to see the same man I had spoken to about the estimate. When he greeted me, he asked, "What are we doing for you?" I told him what car I had and that we had discussed the work earlier, and he immediately asked "What name?" as he looked in his appointment book. I told him that I didn't have an appointment. "You don't have an appointment?" "No. I was hoping I could leave it with you." "So nobody called you about coming in today?" "No, we spoke earlier about the work. I said I'd come back when the parts showed up. Do you remember?" "Did we order parts for you" "No." "So are you waiting for parts?" "No, I have the parts. Do you remember, I came in for an estimate?" "So you didn't talk to anyone about coming in today?" "No. I don't care how long it takes, it's not time sensitive." "Usually people wait to bring the car in until closer to when we're ready to actually start working on it." "Right. I was wondering if I could leave it with you." "Usually people make an appointment. You don't have an appointment?" "No. Is it a problem?" "Usually people have an appointment . . ." At no point during the first conversation did he tell me how seriously they take their appointment book. If he had asked, I would've told him that I'm in the middle of moving it's much more convenient for me to just drop the car off and whenever it's done, it's done. I don't mind if it takes two weeks until you can work on it; I have nowhere to put it until I finish moving. If he had asked, I would've happily brought it back tomorrow, or the end of the week, or whatever time he wanted. "No, I don't have an appointment," I thought, "but you could surely make one for me, right?" I'm not sweating the timeline, but he was so resistant to even talk to me, without I had an appointment. I just wanted to come in and give them my money. I didn't realize they had all the money needed. At no point did this gentleman offer a solution, or suggest an alternative. He was only focused on my not having an appointment, furrowing his brow and making zero effort to tell me what he wanted to do, or needed me to do, or what could be done to remedy the situation. I'm simply not going to work this hard to coach him on how to handle walk-ins. He has no solutions, only problems. No appointment? Let's make one! No room in the lot? Politely ask me to move! Don't remember the estimate? We can talk about what needs doing! Something or other in the way of making this happen? Clearly communicate, and I'll do what I can to make it easy for you! The shop gets high marks for their work, but I'll never know because they were not interested in my business. Maybe they thought I was small potatoes with my 2002 Civic, not worth their time. I am currently in the market for several thousands of dollars worth of labor because I am a car enthusiast with a new project. I am used to paying a premium on labor, because I like to source my own parts. I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

Excellent service, and they have always fixed my problems on the first try. Even better, the final charge usually ends up being lower than the estimate, and they're usually done faster than they expect. Two examples: 1) A while back my engine started randomly cutting out. Another shop in town kept my car for almost a week trying to figure out what was wrong, charged $300 to replace the ignition module (their best diagnostic guess), and didn't fix the problem. I took it in to these guys: within an hour they called me to say that they had pinpointed one half of a sensor that was failing at high temperatures, and I had my car back that afternoon. 2) Yesterday, I took the same car in with alternator trouble. They called this afternoon to quote me a price for a rebuilt alternator and had it done in an hour and a half; when I showed up to pay, the actual cost was only about 75% of the quote. read more

I am out of the area and had my college age son take his 1999 Chevy Tahoe into this place due to the good reviews. Mike the owner was the one who I spoke to beforehand. I assumed we would need a rebuilt transmission or some other expensive service. Well it turns out the 4 low option was stuck on and made the vehicle drive funny. Easy fix and no charge! Nice to be able to get my son back on the road! I am looking forward to having this place do work on my son's vehicle going forward. I fried the ECM in my 4runner. I took it in on a Wednesday. They diagnosed the problem that day, and had a used ECM ordered and installed with an oil change by Monday morning and all at a very fair price! They called me with an update every business day! I had taken it to another shop that pulled the same codes and they didn't know what the problem was. Other shops I called in the area didn't feel comfortable diagnosing the problem either so they referred me to Electrical Specialist. Great experience! read more

They have the WORLD'S BEST diesel mechanic! I took my truck to the ford dealership in Spokane and Moscow and they couldn't fix my engine, but charged be tons to fix the wrong stuff. The diesel mechanic at Electrical specialists diagnosed me over the phone, and then confirmed his diagnosis in person. He fixed it quickly and for less than anyone else. This is the only place I'll take my vehicles to get worked on. They are honest, no BS, and they have great rates. They go over and beyond to get you fixed up right the first time. I hade a rear main seal go out on my 5.3 truck and in no time they were done. Mean while they checked my transfer case and told me I had the wrong oil in it. So they put in the correct fluid. BEWARE - Yesterday, I had my 1998 Ford Explorer towed to this shop to fix a starter problem because my usual mechanic was busy. I grew suspicious when I obtained the $180 bill for having the starter repaired (2h repair, for changing the brushes !?). Little did I know what was in line for me. As soon as I started the car, I realized that something was very wrong. The car is shaking, running rough and it's making a horrifying clicking sound. When I confronted the mechanics, I was told that "it was like this when we started it up" - He repeated the same sentence ~10 times). Needless to say, the car has never acted or made sounds like that. Coincidence? I leave that up to you to judge. I have never written a negative review in my life, which tells you what my level of disgust is. This was my first and last visit to this shop and I will make sure that my colleagues at the University and my facebook sphere hear about this. This is simply unacceptable. read more

Expensive and fair, little knowledge in electrical diagnosis, fixed it myself after burning cash with them, oddly they kept car over weekend twice, could not? get the engine to stall on corners ? Every morning for me. I replaced pump and infamous ford switch in all their cars and pickups, oh extremely hard to find location fuel relay/GLORIFIED-fuse. However, not as bad as guy down the street, car misfired, Mr. mustache smiley jack new the problem but worked around it for a month. I forget how many visits and going with no car. See, it had aluminum engine and nobody had changed the plugs, well later after $500+ in visits I see they were corroded and welded like to the engine. Obviously someone had run into this before. After I tried getting plugs out, :D I was on the last two and had to drill them out, destroying the head, off to the junk yard for that little sports car. read more
