She works in the central mountains with no cell service during the week and was really concerned about getting new tires for her truck with her being gone. So she called dad (me) in a panic. I called Gill's to see if they could get her in quickly and diagnose the problem. They got her in, in about 15 minutes. We needed to get new tires anyway, so we got some on order. It took a day or two to get the specific tires we wanted in as it didn't matter. My daughter would be out of town in a state truck. She was due back on Friday. Thursday afternoon I got a call saying there was a mix up at the warehouse. They sent 4 tires but one was a different size. I started figuring out how to get up there to help my daughter out but Kerry Betts stepped in. He sent a truck from Lewiston all the way down to Boise (5-1/2 hours) to get the right size tire to make sure my daughter had something to drive when she got back in from the field. I a world where it seems like people don't seem to care as much for others as they used to, it was very refreshing to see this. Thanks to the team at Gill's Point S and especially Mr. Kerry Betts for taking care of my kids! When I need new tires for my trucks down here, I'll be driving up from Boise to get them! He made sure he could get the part and had me come in to install it and got it out that afternoon! I've had them do various jobs in the past ( brakes, injector work,and transmission check). Other than a positive connection with my salesperson, every other aspect left me feeling completely taken advantage of. The current approach is an incredibly short sighted way to do business, I've left thinking, if I'm paying what I'm paying, why shouldn't i move to a luxury brand. I simply cannot see myself choosing to go back to such an experience. I paid thousands over sticker price (a symptom of horrid lease ending times). The dealership has no semblance of the feeling of a place I just paid THOUSANDS of dollars to be in. I can do basic math to know that I paid a premium over the invoice price, I understand getting the vehicle stock in took a lot of work, but I also had to pay addition acquisition fees. I'd much rather go the Tesla way of paying exactly what the website says and not having a complex process of talking with 3 different people, and wires getting crossed along the way. Coffee from a tin (aluminum really) pot and an atmosphere that just puts pressure on you to buy your car and get out of the space.
