I only had a limited amount of time so I wanted to be sure they had it and called the store. I was put through to a clerk named Anthony. Anthony told me they did carry it and had it in stock. Since he answered without even checking stock, I was skeptical and asked him if "he was sure they had some". Anthony again told me they did have it in stock. I drove 35 minutes, I didn't have to spare, to their store. The first clerk didn't know what I was talking about. When I mentioned I confirmed with Anthony they had it in stock, he sent me to the back of the store to Anthony. As you can guess by now, they didn't have any. What's more, it didn't appear they never even carried it as there was no place where it had been . I was so angry. It was too late to get anywhere else thanks to their laziness and lack of customer service. I called the store a couple of days later and asked to speak to the owner but was told he isn't here. The clerk I spoke to implied, the owner is never there. I left my phone number and asked to have him call me. That was over a week ago...the apple doesn't fall from the tree, I guess. While overall, I have had positive experiences with Ace Hardware stores in the past, I won't be going back or recommending this one to anyone.

It was still covered under the Husqvarna warranty, and when I left it with them, I explicitly agreed to pay for diagnostics if the repair wasn't covered. About a month later, they called to tell me the carburetor needed replacement and that they had already ordered the part from Husqvarna. They never mentioned that the repair wasn't covered under warranty. I was told the repair would be done within a couple of weeks, so naturally, I assumed it was covered since they proceeded with ordering the part without informing me otherwise. Two months passed without any updates, so I called to check the status. They claimed there was a delay in getting parts, so I waited. Finally, after nearly 6 months, they called to say my blower was ready for pickup. When I arrived, I was blindsided -- they told me the repair wasn't covered by the warranty, and I was expected to pay out of pocket. I spoke with the Sales and Repair Manager, Gene Conley, who insisted that I had authorized the repair, citing a note in their system. The only call I ever received, though, was to inform me the part had been ordered -- nothing about the warranty status or potential costs. To make matters worse, when I expressed my frustration, Gene's response was shockingly unprofessional. He told me he didn't care if I left a bad review because they have "thousands of customers." I hope this review serves as a warning to others. Communication and customer service matter, and unfortunately, Johnson's Hardware completely failed on both fronts. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere for your repairs.

Aisle location also seems to always be correct. Good selection of stuff. Never have a problem finding what we are looking for. Staff is kind and helpful when you need it. My only real complaint is that they have moved mostly to self check out and I'm just not a huge fan of that switch in general. They offer a military discount at this store, but it has to be pre registered to your phone number/account so you can't just show your ID(active or dependent) and get it.

When we called to get the missing item delivered , we got the runaround. This young man kept promising to deliver it the next morning or afternoon (2 times) but it never came. When we complained he insisted that he'd have to talk to his supervisor first and this supervisor was at lunch but he would arrange another delivery , the young man was polite and apologetic but he was disingenuous . We've never received the item and then when I called the home office , the person answering the phone told us we would have to pay for the item again (or items) and either pick it up at the store or have it delivered and then be reimbursed , nothing straightforward , so convoluted . I mean just arrange to have the item delivered free because we paid for it and that's the end of it. Everyone was polite but extremely unhelpful. We will switch to Lowe's . Big Business's like Home Depot forget about customer service and it's not like when I grew up when small businesses care. We have been loyal customers but no more.

Front door is cocked open for dead, humid air. Every staff person is glistening w/sweat poor things and unmotivated and inanimated to move, understandably. When youve got nice cool, newer well staffed hardware stores just 10 mins further, in Mystic of same franchise, i seriously wonder how this one is still open. Theyre our new True Value goto. Tho ive met a couple nice staff at Johnson's that were knowlgable and helpful, most on the registers are young dingbats not focused on customers and chatting ea other up. If you have an inventory question, noone knows immediate answer. Today, upon "going to check on that" forgot to return to the phone. Its a perfect storm here w/poor mgt, poor environment, untrained staff, low inventory...just drive by and thank me. Head 10 mins to Mystic. I give this one star because of the person hiring the dingbats, keeping AC off w/door open in humid sweltering conditions no good for staff or shoppers who like me, want to get in get out because youre breaking into sweat shopping. I hope some ethical store mgr reads this or owner and turns on climate control for their staff and shuts the front door. Then once everyone cools down, a better customer svs training ensues.
