Wanted to try out our hand in gardening again this year. Was able to pick up a few planters with vegetables already well on their way to becoming ripe. Did have to pick up some plant food to help our growing season along too. Wanted to pick up some salt pellets for our water filtering system but I guess a few people had the same idea and they cleared out the stock of what we normally get. Went with another brand and saw the discount of a few dollars a bag if you bought 6 or more, so of course I had to pick up six bags. read more

I ordered a small truckload of topsoil on their website. Paid premium price for it. they subcontract to vendors and I received a truckload fill dirt and small stones. I went to customer service, explained what I got with pictures, and was told to call the vendor. The manager at this store had no interest in trying to help me. This was the only Lowe's that I could find within 50 miles of me that had all of the good Disney Christmas decorations out! They were super nice as well with getting my pick up order and they took care in making sure I was able to get everything to the car. Excellent customer service! read more

My wife and I visited the Waterford store last night for an oven and as usual in any lowes it was hard to find assistance without wandering the store. However we met Lura an associate who went above and beyond with the help of an upbeat supervisor. They got the job done and we were happy. Lowes can use more of them. When Lura couldn't find the staff for that department she called and asked her supervisor to show how to process sale. She was cool and patient. Kind. We appreciate it. read more

Does this store even have a manager or supervisor?? How do you stay in business? I own/manage many homes and apartments, and have bought all of my appliances there for years. I also shopped there for my own home as the merchandise always seemed to be a better quality. Recently this has all changed. Customer service is non-existent. I've had 2 deliveries screwed up by XPO. When you call the Lowe's store to complain, you find that none of the employees actually answer the phone. On the fourth attempt to get through, got a surly woman who offered to refund my pick-up fee as XPO said it wasn't on their paperwork. However, she screwed that up and the refund was never processed. (This is the second time Lowe's in Waterford has screwed up a refund). When I tried calling back, again no answer. Called National number at 800-445-6937, explained situation, and the woman I spoke with said that the refund had to be authourized through the Waterford store as they were the location fulfilling my on line order. She tried to get through, but no one answered the phone. Finally, I got to speak with her supervisor, who credited the fee. $21.30 including the tax. A total of 7 phone calls, and then 29 minutes on hold to correct a mistake made by Lowe's. I was then asked to hold for a survey. After doing so, an automated voice came on to say that the survey is no longer available. Only buy at Lowe's what you can take with you. Never On Line, or via phone, as you will get nothing but frustration. read more

DO NOT USE FENCE INSTALLERS "FLIKS LAWN CARE LLC". They will place crappy lock on your fence gates and refuse to change or install better locks even if your fence is still under warranty or its not even 4 months yet. Their locks/keys are low/cheap quality that breaks easily and cannot be duplicated in USA. Their installing representatives keep bouncing you off from one person to another and give your promises, and make you wait to finally tell you that the installer is not going to change your lock or they will not refund your money. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME and save yourself some headaches by not hiring from LOWES or FLIKS LAWN CARE LLC in oxford CT. They are just thieves and cannot even guarantee their work and products that are under warranty. I would have given them zero stars but unfortunately that option is not given. Lowe's home improvement did not stand by their product warranty and customer service was awful. even though I am a long time customer of Lowe's, I will take my business to HOME DEPOT or ACE. Very bad experience ordering online then not having the part at the store even tho they showed 10 pieces available. Getting them to ship the part from another store was a nightmare! Every time I called it was a different person different story. No one had any intension on helping or getting them to fix their mistake. I was told by a few associates that they would call me back in 5 min then leave their shift, disregarding me. Had to go into the store number of times to get it resolved. I just had a really unsatisfactory customer service experience with my local Lowe's store, which is very disappointing because until now, my experiences with Lowe's had been quite good. Our dishwasher broke last weekend, so I went on the Lowe's website and spent $740+ for a new dishwasher and 5-yr warranty, along with an installation kit and another $20 to have the old unit hauled away. When you order online, the website literally states "Your local Lowes Delivery Team will install or hook up ANY major appliance you purchase online at the point of delivery." Delivery was offered as "next day", also. Although we didn't receive "next day delivery", which although inconvenient, I'm willing to excuse that part. My issue is there was absolutely no indication on Lowe's website of an additional installation charge of $169 needed for this type of appliance. So the delivery guy dropped off the box unit today and refused to set up the dishwasher or haul away the old one (which we paid $20 for), and then instructed us to call Lowe's about it, because he's "just the delivery guy". I then called my local Lowes store through which we ordered this appliance and explained the situation to the customer service associate in the appliance department, whose responses were surprisingly uncooperative and condescending. First, she had no record of my purchase other than one I made at the store for a similar item four years ago, of which she accused me of not purchasing an installation kit as required for appliance installations. When I corrected her letting her know she was looking at an order from four years ago, and my existing order was placed just a few days ago and did include an installation kit, she responded, annoyed, that she needed to put me on hold because their new system for reviewing online purchases was difficult to navigate. After a few minutes, she found my current order and acknowledged my installation kit purchase but didn't apologize for her error. She then insisted there was a note in their system indicating I was called and informed of the restrictions on the dishwasher purchase, which required a separate installation fee through a subcontractor. Wrong again! There was absolutely NO such notice provided to me by either voicemail or email, and I have the electronic records to prove it. The only voicemail I received regarding this purchase was a standard robo-call message indicating my next-day delivery window would be between 9 and 11 am. But in no way did Lowe's inform me of what was required for this expensive appliance to be delivered, installed, and the old dishwasher removed and hauled away. Nor is this information provided anywhere on Lowe's website when you order dishwashers. Suffice it to say, Lowe's is teetering on the brink of losing my family as long-term customers because of this experience. I had simply wanted to spend my $740+ to conveniently order a replacement appliance online, but my experience was exceedingly far below the standards I had expected from Lowe's. That said, I won't be paying an additional $169 for the installation fee. After this experience, I'd much rather pay my handyman brother-in-law $50 to do it for me instead. read more

Purchased a washer/dryer set online. Tried to set up delivery and was told I would have to pay extra to take away the old machines. No problem. They told me it would be delivered on February 3, 2021. Then I noticed they split the order. One was to delivered, the other to be picked up in store. Called back to rectify this and was told if I wanted them both delivered, they would have to change the date to February 9, 2021. Now it's the 9th and no machines. Called to find out what's going on and was told the order had been canceled for non-payment. Not sure why. I saw the money get held in my account and then...nothing. No phone call to me to fix it. I just called to schedule a toilet installation. The store representative kept me holding while he spoke to someone at the store and also while he tried to figure out whether or not he could place the installation order over the phone. It got so ridiculous that I had doubts. When I said to him that I hoped that he knows what to do, he said that since I didn't think he knew what he was doing, he HUNG-UP ON ME!!!!!! This store is the worst. John, the garden department manager is the rudest person I've ever encountered. He repeatedly says nasty and inappropriate things to customers and has even done so in front of my child, most recently on 9/18 at around 12:30pm. Last weekend, a female employee in the garden department used rake handles to simulate an inappropriate sexual joke to her coworkers, again, in front of children. One should be able to shop for garden supplies without their children witnessing inappropriate and rude comments and actions from employees. Went into Lowes Waterford as I always do looking for lumber to build a new shed, as I walked through the lumber section with my list I was approached by and employee to see if I needed assistance and I welcomed it. He then turned me over to an outstanding employee by the name of Ken Heath not only did he point me in the right direction but he actually walked me throughout the lumber area making helpful suggestions and assisting me with loading the cart with a lot of heavy wood. When all wood was chosen and I would be responsible for all of the detailed cuts at home Ken Heath offered to cut some on site...wait it gets better. Ken Heath the asked me for the LIST of detailed cuts and offered to make all the cuts for me and said if I had any shopping to do he would complete them and call me in an hour when they were done...I am a novice with building and Ken made my experience with this already complicated project a much easier process. He also went out of his way to loan me his own straps for the plywood that he also helped me load. If Lowes continues to hire superior employees like Ken Heath all of the competition will be out of business. As far as I am concerned there is no other competitors. Ordered a washer online a few months ago; delivery was prompt and well-executed. Ordered a dryer just last night (a Friday evening around 6 p.m.) and was told I would get a call Sat. to schedule delivery. The truck showed up in my driveway Sat. morning with my dryer! They had nudged my order in with their other Saturday deliveries. Two guys were polite, efficient (told me the cord I'd ordered was the wrong one),and made the old cord work with the new appliance. They gently unpinned the door hinges to get the thing in, and replaced same. They helped me close the bulkhead door when leaving. All in all, fantastic customer service. read more

Never buy appliances from them. Was misled regarding installation. After waiting 3 months for a refrigerator, tried to deliver a dented, scratched floor model. Only delivered half of what we ordered after we were told we were getting entire order. After discussing, at length, the fact that we had propane and was reassured the stove came with a propane kit we had to call an appliance repair company to order one for us for an additional $200. This did not include installation of conversion kit. They will say anything to get the sale. Beware. read more

We recently purchased a propane-fired water heater, with a extended warranty, and paid for its installation. As it occurred, we were having extensive work done to our furnace at the same time. After the installation, I smelled propane in our basement. My first thought was the problem must be with the furnace, because of the extensive repairs, so I call the company that serviced it. Their technician checked the furnace w/o finding any leaks. Then he checked a joint between two pipes leading to the water heater. There was a substantial leak. He tightened the nut and the leak stopped. I called Lowes, and after being transferred between several people, a man asked how much the repair cost. I said I didn't have the bill yet. He said he would make a note on our file and I should call l back when I had a bill. We got the bill. I called back, and was transferred several times before being connected with a woman who told me the propane-fired heater had nothing to do with propane. Then she told me I probably voided my warranty by allowing the other company's technician to stop the leak. She put me on hold, then came back and said she had called the installer who told her he didn't leave a leak, so it wasn't their problem. I told her the man I had spoken to said he made a note in our file and I should call l back when I had a bill, so I could be reimbursed. She said she didn't know who said that, but he should not have, because neither the store nor the installer was going to pay. I said, "So you are telling me your store refuses to make good on the cost of a repair of a gas leak on your guaranteed installation." She said, "We are not going to pay." I said I would have to see what actions I could take. She said, "Thank you for shopping at Lowes." They spend a lot of money on advertising to get me to go into their stores. The third shift stockers are the best. All the items are on the shelf in the proper manner( A fact that is greatly underappreciated). I had only one problem one of them was a portly Mulatto fellow he did not seem to care for or about his job but thank heaven he seems to be gone. I hope he is forced to clean up after children in some sort of school setting. Caution I have seen this guy in electrical,tools/hardware/plumbing and flooring. Day time staff is ok but not in any way as good as the night crew. read more

If I could give Lowe's ZERO stars, I would. I REFUSE to do any business with this company going forward. I have had at least 2 time- wasting, poor customer service experiences. First, I went to return a chandelier that I ordered online. I went to the store with a copy of the purchase order and confirmation, along with the packing slip. It took over 1.5 hours for the clerks to process the return. They could not find the purchase in their computer system even though I used a Lowe's credit card to purchase it. The only solution they offered was to give me a Lowes's gift card for the amount of the purchase which could be immediately applied to my Lowe's credit card. I arrived at the store at 8:00 PM and left the store at 9:45PM. I was not happy. Today, I had a dishwasher delivery and installation scheduled. No one showed up. I called the main number at Lowe's in Waterford, CT and the phone just rang. No one picked up. I called again, and selected the option to connect directly to Appliances. After ringing for more than 6 minutes, a woman picked up. I explained the situation. She put me on hold for another 5 minutes to look into the matter. She said she could not find any information and transferred my call to Installation. Again, I was put on hold for 15 minutes. The woman who picked up said she would contact the Installer to find out what happened. She said he showed up at my house. I said he did not since I was at the house all day. Apparently, the installer went to the address associated with my account and NOT the installation address which is clearly printed on the invoice/customer contract. He could not make it out to the installation address today. He did not even apologize. As a result, I had to reschedule a quartz countertop installation (with a local business - NOT Lowe's) to accommodate his rescheduled installation date. I have not received a confirmation of this rescheduled installation date, and seriously wonder if it will take place. I wasted my entire day, took time off from work, will need to take time off again for the unconfirmed rescheduled installation date. Also, the dishwasher that I purchased is a panel ready dishwasher. The installation cost $169 does not cover installation of the panel which was not disclosed to me at time of purchase. The installer said it would cost another $142 to install the panel. read more

An absolutely awful customer experience. This truly is the first time I've written a review, but I feel I must given the atrocious customer service I have received. I went to Lowe's in September 2017 to purchase a new front door. The staff member would not even get up from his chair to assist me. When asked about details of various products, he just pointed at the aisle and said to look at what they had in stock. I finally, unassisted, looked through all of the options and found what I wanted. By then, another staff member had come to the desk. I approached her, and she ordered the door I wanted. Waited 3 weeks for delivery. On the day of delivery, the store noted that the door was cracked. Instead of just replacing it, they played phone tag with me for days, after I called and told them I wanted a replacement. Apparently only one person in the entire store is capable of returning a damaged item that never even left the store! Spent hours on the phone on hold, as really incompetent staff tried to remedy the situation. Never ever purchasing anything from Lowe's again. A horrible experience. read more
