Let me start this review by saying that I cannot say enough good things about Francisco and his company, Electrified. He took my frantic call over the weekend to set up a visit to my Gaithersburg townhouse to diagnose a problem with the circuit that feeds all my bathrooms. He arrived promptly, displayed great knowledge and professionalism and quickly made needed repairs like a Jedi master! He even fixed a few things that were beyond the original problem at no extra charge and gave me a detailed explanation of what went wrong and why. For example, he discovered a shoddy wiring job that was installed years ago and was contributing to my breakers tripping often (and he fixed that too, eliminating a fire hazard that I was not even aware of). My husband and I went to Lowes and got a ceiling fan and paid for installation and Lowes rescheduled it SEVEN times on us! Finally we just got so mad with Lowes we cancelled it and would find someone ourselves. One of my ceiling lights randomly lost support due to a cracked box, and was hanging by the wires from the ceiling. I hired one electrician who stood me up without a call or text. That was when I found Electrified and contacted Francisco. Francisco gave me a quote over the phone without even having to come out. It was a really fair price, and he was up front about possible additional costs for parts needed. He was able to come out within the same week, and sent me a text to let me know when he was on his way, which I really appreciated. Not only was the work quick and very well done, but Francisco was mindful about the assigned parking spaces in my neighborhood, and he was careful to use shoe covers to protect my carpets. Though seemingly small acts, I took note because they showed me that Francisco is not just an honest worker, but a considerate person, in general. I called a couple different electricians but these guys picked up on the first call, had the lowest visit fee, and also were very knowledgeable and kind over the phone. Shockingly bad and a total waste of money. After spending about an hour failing to figure out my flickering lights, they then spent 20 minutes trying to persuade me that the issue was caused by using incandescent lightbulbs because my incandescent bulbs were "not dimmable". Anyone who doesn't know that all incandescents are dimmable (because physics) doesn't deserve to call themselves an electrician. I did end up putting in some dimmable LEDs for energy savings anyway, no surprise that didn't help. A complaint to the company only got me an offer to send the same guys back out again. Not even a different pair, but the same pair. No way was I going to waste more time or money with the same folks who couldn't figure it out the first time. The real electrician I found later correctly diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes after looking in the same fuse box these guys did (the breaker was shot). Electrified did manage to successfully switch out some old sockets. I'll give them that. read more
