After raising legitimate concerns about my order and delivery, I was repeatedly assured that leadership would contact me "by the end of the day." That never happened. Not to mention, the two in-store managers who promised to return my call. The lack of follow-through, accountability, and basic communication reflects poorly at every level from the store to corporate. What made this experience especially frustrating was feeling completely ignored after being promised resolution. At no point did anyone with decision-making authority reach out, despite multiple attempts on my part. At this stage, I had to request that my third delivery attempt be halted until I can speak with a professional who can actually address the issues. Here, we tend to treat it more like a giant showroom with free babysitting and a cafeteria, but the value is still hard to beat. I had a great run during my most recent trip. The deals were everywhere! I picked up a summer-weight duvet along with a new cover and shams to refresh the bedroom. I also found a stunning set of gold-toned serving flatware -- they have that sleek, high-end look without the boutique price tag. A few highlights and "hiccups" from this visit: The Food & Drink:I tried the fish balls with mashed potatoes for lunch, and they were actually pretty tasty. I also noticed an older gentleman sitting completely alone, casually drinking glasses of what appeared to be wine. Many IKEA locations with a restaurant license do serve beer and wine, and honestly, he had the right idea. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the food market for those specific cookies and foreign candies you just can't find anywhere else. The Atmosphere: At one point, navigating the floor felt a bit like an escape room. While the staff seems nice enough, they aren't exactly eager to help--you really have to run them down to get an answer. The Warehouse:I'm honestly not a fan of the self-service furniture selection policy. The whole warehouse environment is pretty intimidating when you're trying to track down boxes. The Strategy:Since I'm lucky enough to live only 25 minutes away I've realized I need to stop coming here like it's a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. If I visited more often, I probably wouldn't feel the need to drop $200 every time! Overall, it's a solid four-star experience for the unique finds and the reliable "Swedish-lite" atmosphere, even if you have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself.

One place that will always dominate any neighborhood besides that other depressing behemoth store…read moreis Target. A huge sprawling parking lot with enough space under one roof to get in a mile of walking, if one were so compelled. This brings me to Target in Charlotte. First, I despise getting in and out of this store as the way the entrance and exit is set up stinks, then you have to drive on University Blvd which, depending on the day, is a nightmare. That said, it is located in a safe part of town however please note this isn't a Super Target so not much in the way of food and an overwhelming selection of items. The employees don't walk around much but they're nice. My final opening point is extremely subjective, but I hate drab interior much like their big blue rival. As for food, the selection is extremely limited. Barely half an isle for fresh produce, select meats and a few other options. As for refrigerated items again, the selection is limited with a few items available as needed. Finally, the dry, snack and non-perishable items selection is much better but still not what you'll find at a larger store. I find I only shop here for food only when absolutely necessary. As for the kids' section, they're limited in toys as I tried to purchase some items for my kids but they only have the absolute most popular items. So, if you want that GI Joe action figure, you won't find it here, or at least anything new. As for electronics, they have most of the newest gaming consoles, games and controllers however 4k media is gone, but that's a standard among all stores now as physical media continues to be replaced by inferior forms of content like streaming. Most items like pet food and accessories are in abundance, hardware and housing goods have most of what someone needs and the kitchen section has a lot of average equipment to great stuff depending on what you need. For example, the knife selection is horrible but mixers are just as good as anywhere else. I do all of my vitamin and specialty medicine (not prescription) from Target as it's the cheapest. Clothing is always a challenge as I don't think they have enough employees to restock items so many times there will be clothes on the ground or in wrong areas. The jewelry case is sad as are most of there kitchen accessories section. But again, I have to remind myself this isn't a Super Target however coming in is a commitment. Overall, Target is exactly what you expect anywhere and that's by design. The only real differences are subtle things that regionally might sell better at one place then another state won't offer a product as it won't make sense. Think of a heavy winter coat for sale in Texas - it isn't needed. Finally, the store is clean and let's face it, you should know the prices and if they're competitive. Other than those items, it's Target you know what you want.

The absolute worse target in the history of all targets…read more They will pick beat up, previously opened, dirty looking spoiled food without a second thought to provide you during the drive up order. A jar of jalapenos that I returned so fast that I didn't take a picture for my own phone. They'll have prices marked on the shelf but not in the system. Today I actually shopped in-store trying to give another shot and manage a return just for the monthly deal not to work. We read the games and conditions. This cashier has to be from the Midwest based on how she talks + behaves but I could be wrong (which isn't the bad part. It just made me reminisce like I know this personality. Behavior. Mood) anywhoo she called over someone and he read the same coupon terms and conditions from my phone. But things down and reappeared with the in-store scanner to say clearance is exempt. Ok cool but it's not on the coupon showing in the wallet. Worse yet, I had to reset my password because shopping in-store always results in such because they push hard to have you redeem your circle money and gift cards. Ewww, child just stay away. Let the college kids and SE Asians have it. I say SE ASIANS be sure they appear to be heavy in the area with adjacent stores, returns and patronizing hard with kids running amuck without any supervision or correction. Good thing today: they had enough lines open. Crap BS today: the trail mix rang up more than what's posted on the shelf. If miss Minnesota hadn't been motor mouthing I would have caught it but alas I'll get it resolved tomorrow when there's less rain. Y'all, I left the Midwest and keep finding it. Hilarious. She is a hoot even with all the frustrations. At least the customer service girls know what to do and don't get all overwhelmed. Complete store in disarray. Nary an item where it's supposed to be.

When it came time for me to verify my military service, I hesitate and began to search for the instruction on how this should be done. The employee standing off and away from me tells me to scan the back of my license. I am new to the state (May 1) and just had my license changed 2 weeks prior so I scan the bar code at the bottom of my license twice and not the top. The top looks more like a QR code and not a bar code but I will be the first to admit they may be the same, I didn't know. This voice behind me says scan the top after which time my transaction went along smoothly. I took my time when shopping to be sure to get the correct thing and I strongly feel that this man assumed two things. 1) I was trying to steal something and 2) I was not a veteran. I am from the vietnam era, and in my seventies. I have Glaucomo and quite frankly I am concerned with my memory thus my reason for being in Charlotte to be closer to family. On Black Friday (11/27/2020), I placed an order for a vacuum. Against my better judgement, I ordered directly from Hoover and not Amazon. They had a deal for $70 off and free shipping. My total (w/ tax) was $183.59. On Thursday 12/3, two identical vacuums were delivered to my home. I then double checked my bank account, and saw that Hoover charged me a whopping $518.38!!! They left me with a mere $2.60 in my checking account!!! I called Hoover, and ultimately a customer service representative told me that I had been charged full price ($259.19) for TWO vacuums. They overcharged me by $334.79! They proposed that, in order to rectify the situation, they would email me a return label. (Except I don't have a printer.. so she essentially told me to go somewhere and print it off!! I was then to call FedEx and schedule a pickup.) Once I sent back the extra vacuum they had mistakenly sent me, they would refund me within 4-6 weeks (!!!). Additionally, they couldn't issue me a credit for the ($75.60) difference between one full price vacuum and the amount that I authorized them to charge me until the original vacuum was returned. I was told they couldn't do two separate transactions, and had to lump it all together. So no refund at all for 4-6 weeks or help mitigating their mistake! COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I authorized a charge of $183.59 to my account, not the exorbitant $518.38 that they did on their own. I asked to speak to a supervisor. After going through the situation and drilling in the fact that she left a single, one-income parent of 2 toddlers with $2.60 in her bank account during the holidays, I think it was finally conveyed what a sh!tty situation Hoover put me in due to their own incompetence. She arranged for FedEx to bring a prepaid label and pick up Friday or Saturday. She was going to process the $75.60 difference I was charged (for the 1 vacuum I purchased) between the full price ($259.19) minus the sale price on my invoice. I'm allegedly going to receive a refund for the returned vacuum in 3-6 days after FedEx picks up, still leaving my bank account short for the holidays. I will update if things don't go according to the aforementioned resolution I was promised.

A few days later I purchased it for PICKUP over the phone via a payment link he sent. He told me since they had done some rearranging in the showroom, the couch I had purchased was moved to the warehouse and wouldn't be available for pickup until Tuesday (today). Today I was told that they had accidentally placed MY couch on a delivery truck and couldn't get a hold of the driver to track it down. Then a few hours later, Matthew calls again saying that MY couch had been delivered to another customer who had purchased the same couch (this customer now has 2 couches). And of course he wasn't able to get in touch with them either. He let me know now I would have to wait until they're able to get MY couch back in their possession to look over it and confirm it was the same one THEY SENT to a different customer. He said if they were unable to do so or if the couch had any issues they could offer to deliver a new couch but it would be over a MONTH in the future. This is unacceptable. One of the only reasons I decided on this couch was the fast turn around to receive it. I then called the store to process a full refund as I am no longer interested in giving Furniture Row my money. I spoke with Austin on the phone who said he had been informed about this situation and he would be able to initiate a refund. He then had the AUDACITY to ask if the leather cleaner (that they had offered for an additional $1 on my order) was already in my possession. As if that was going to cause an issue with my refund. Which how could I have it if Matthew said I would only be able to get it when picking up my couch?? Overall, I am VERY upset with this whole experience, and will NEVER be purchasing from, or entering this store again. And will be sharing my negative experience with everyone I had told about this couch. DO NOT trust them to handle your purchases professionally, carefully, or diligently!
