This was a great stop on my drive back from California to Seattle. The location right off I-5 is super convenient, and there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus when you're traveling. The staff were very pleasant -- I was greeted cheerfully right when I entered. The inside has a classic diner atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming, exactly as shown in the photos. I ordered the BLT sandwich with added avocado, fries as my side, and a salad from the side menu. Everything tasted fresh and hit the spot after a long drive. The portions were generous and very satisfying. Perfect stop for travelers looking for good food, friendly service, and easy access from the freeway. Highly recommend! read more

Don't be fooled by the location - this is a great place to stop to eat. Real home-cooked meals that taste great. It was packed on a recent Sunday & seemed well supporting by the local ranching/farming community. The staff were very friendly & efficient. The food is reasonably priced. I can not rave enough about this place. I live 5 hours away and every-time I'm here visiting I insist we stop because the biscuits and gravy can not be beat. The service is always 5 stars which says a lot because every time I go it is packed. The staff here are working hard to give you a positive experience everytime. I have convinced several friends to make a stop on road trips to check it out and everyone comes back raving about their breakfast. I can't speak on their lunch menu. read more

Hidden in an unexpected area (next to the livestock auction) is Kenny's Kitchen. They took over the building from what was formerly known as the Branding Iron. We wandered in here around 11:30am on a Monday morning and were very surprised to see how busy this place was! It looked like the crowd you would expect on a weekend. That's when we had a feeling the food is probably pretty good... we were sat at the bar top because there were no open tables. Yes, on a Monday. The portions are super generous, and everyone seemed to really enjoy their food. I ordered the Country fried steak and eggs (held the potatoes and toast because I can't cheat THAT much) and the portions were massive. They served me 3 eggs, a steak double the size I expected and a heaping load of gravy. And it was so yummy! Overall a really solid breakfast/lunch place that's worth checking out if you're ever hanging out in or driving through the Cottonwood area. Definitely recommend! read more

Finally got to try this place since they moved into this location. If you're looking for a folksy, hometown, everyone knows everyone kind of place for a good breakfast at a reasonable price, this is it! It's not fancy but has lots of character We both had scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon with a biscuit and gravy and it was really tasty! They even took heed to my request for extra crispy bacon which is always a crap shoot. It's like the cooks get their feelings hurt if you ask for bacon to be fully cooked without creepy, raw spots but they cooked the bacon here to crunchy perfection In spite of a full house, the service was prompt and our server was friendly and very attentive It's a piece of cottonwood history that checks all the boxes for: Good food Good prices Good folks We will be back! read more

Kenny's Kitchen is a really nice place to eat at. This place is located in Cottonwood, Ca. Not to far from Redding. The food here is so good that we had to wait for about 45 minutes that day to be sat at a table. This place also has really large cheese burgers with lots of fries. I was here with my parents since I was up in the area visiting them. I highly recommend this place, the food is worth the wait. read more

This place is a little off the beaten path, but well worth it. The food is excellent. We split a tritip sandwich. The staff delivered it to us on 2 plates without asking for that. It was good quality meat. The walls are covered in brands used to identify cattle. There's a mural about the history (maybe now too) of the cowboys grazing their cattle in the meadows nearby. For the price, it should have been much better and that's the only reason for four stars. The second night I had the soup, a Greek chicken soup with orzo pasta. Delicious. Also had the macaroni and cheese which had a nice crunchy top and generous serving. I had breakfast there two mornings - oatmeal with really good fresh berries the first morning, and the California omelet the second day. They were both very good and I would order either one again. The hoteel gave me coupons for 25% off breakfast so it was a bargain. I would recommend Woodside Grill whether you're staying at Gaia or live in the area.

Also since I was asking all the gluten free questions, it would have been nice to be informed that the tacos were also served on flour tortillas. Not the cashier or the menu indicated this. Luckily I do not have a severe allergy, or I'd be furious. Obviously this place is a bakery, so there's gluten everywhere. I'm not mad, honestly. Just a little disappointed. Any information is best. I got the chimichurri steak tacos, which are covered in chipotle aioli - I'd honestly rename them to be chipotle steak tacos. Get zero chimichurri, the aioli completely takes over. I do like the steak isn't tough though, so still get some points for the attempt. For me, and my gluten sensitivity, probably won't be back since there aren't many options that are actually gluten free.
