Everything about working with this amazing floral designer has been a wonderful experience. Ordering flowers from far away can be a challenge--you never really know what you're going to get, and there's nothing worse than spending a lot of money and getting an arrangement that's disappointing. Joy made sure that all of my wedding flower needs were met. She was helpful every step of the way, and had suggestions for me when my head was too cloudy to make my own. Everything was gorgeous and I keep getting rave reviews from my guests. Joy pays attention to detail, which as a frazzled bride, I found to be very helpful. Pew bows, garland for my alter decor, sign decor... small things I wouldn't have thought of but Joy did. She is also friendly and easy to work with. Always available to her clients, she responds very quickly via email. Joy even delivered the bouquets and boutonnières to my hotel suite the day of the wedding, and tagged each one so we all knew which bouquet was ours. The floral arrangement was absolutely gorgeous. My husband surprised me with them on Valentine's day! I was pleasantly surprised to see that they lasted me 3 whole weeks. They also smelled ahh-mazing. Side note - we stopped at our favorite restaurant and I had to ask them about their stunning floral arrangement - I thought they were fake! I chose this shop based on the 5 star reviews on yelp and google. When I called, I reached a very friendly voicemail indicating that they were either with a customer or on another call helping a customer and to leave a message. I called back in 10 minutes, but got the same and I appreciate this type of message, because I can respect being involved with a customer and not interrupting to answer a phone; so, the second time I left a message. I needed flowers delivered same day, so I figured I would give 30 minutes before moving on. Within 18 minutes my call was returned by Joy herself. She was so friendly and helpful. My instructions were a price, for a birthday and make it colorful and pretty. Let me tell you about these flowers. When I send flowers, I ALWAYS ask for a photo from the recipient, to make sure they are the way they should look. The person I sent them to was raving with amazement at how gorgeous the flowers were and the style of the arrangement. She said she has never seen such flawless peonies. I was sure that however I described what I wanted and no matter how many example photos I showed them that it would be beautiful but probably not what I had envisioned. I needed a lovely and affordable arrangement for my grand aunt who just passed away - I found out one day beforehand and decided that the arrangement the funeral home provided were too expensive and not that wonderful either - after checking out the photos of arrangements and prices at Elegant, I decided to go with them. Called - answering machine - left message and less than an hour later call was returned- Joy had to check her inventory once I places my order but any substitutes exceeded the original and she was mindful of my budget as well - a beautiful arrangement - even lovelier than the website photo-arrived in time for the wake. I totally forgot to rate this place this past valentines. i came by after work around 4pm not knowing if they had anything left. i walked in to 2 lovely ladies snipping away in the back at what appeared to be an order already called in. boy was i nervous, i told the lady who assisted me i needed flowers for my wife and i didn't want traditional red roses... she ended up making me a bouquet of lily's, white and red roses on the spot!! it came out amazing. my wife loved them and they were on the table for almost 3 weeks and left my place smelling great. it's def grade A stuff they got here. i also noticed balloons and stuffed animals as well as flowers for any/other occasion. what reminded me to write a review was that last night my wife and i went to our favorite restaurant, Salt & Barrel (Bayshore NY) and they had an amazing lovely display at the bar right next to us, we asked the bartender who were they from and she mentioned Elegant Designs by Joy... that's when i remembered that this was the place. i will be sure to come back over and over, even refer the place. thanks read more

first off , let me just say planning a wedding is never easy , and anybody that goes the extra mile should be really commended. I am currently planning a wedding from out-of-state and florist was the last vendor I had to book. my original florist, dragonfly events, never returned my calls, and was completely disorganized, so I chose not to use them.
