I placed a Friday night order for Saturday delivery. I am in North Carolina but wanted to use a local florist for my daughter's birthday flower delivery. The ordering process was so easy and they even offered free delivery for Saturday (next day). The shop called to verify address and give ETA for delivery. The flowers are absolutely beautiful...even more so than the picture online. They placed the vase in a box for safe delivery and even wrapped the box with floral paper and cellophane. I am beyond upset. I ordered flowers for my grandpas funeral, received an email conformation along with a charge for the flowers. When I walked into the funeral polar my flowers were never delivered. You could imagine how upsetting something like that is. I called the florist multiple times, no answer or machine to explain anything. Due to frustration I had someone go to the florist location to find a note on the door that they were out sick. I know people get sick but how do you not contact your customers to make them aware or have someone else take care of your orders. This wasn't an anniversary or a birthday this was for a wake and the last time to say goodbye to someone. With all the emotions you're currently going through when someone close to you passes away the last thing I needed to deal with was something like this. Never received an apology or any explanation. To anyone who needs to order flowers for someone's funeral I suggest doing it in person to make sure your order will be taken care of. read more

I live in Austin, Texas. My mother, who lives in West Islip, NY, was turning 88 years old on September 5th, which just happened to be on Labor Day this year. I tried and tried to get some flowers to her for her birthday, but no luck because of the holiday. After combing the internet for florists in her area, I finally called Raindrops and Roses in a last-ditch desperate effort. The nicest man answered the phone, but said they were closing and couldn't deliver. Something made me tell him about my mom's 88th birthday, how desperate I was to get flowers to her, and ask him if he could be possibly refer me to another florist who could get flowers to her on or before Monday. He said he didn't know of any, and my heart sank. But then he asked me again where she lived and, after I gave him the street address, he said he was going to be in the shop tomorrow (Sunday) and would be willing to drop flowers off to her on his way home - I was saved!!!! OMG, I thought I would just die with relief! He asked me what I wanted for her, and I requested $50-worth of a pretty assortment of flowers that she could arrange in her vases at home - she's in a wheelchair, and the only hobby she has left is flower arranging, when she has the strength. I called her on her birthday and learned that Saturday evening, a "very nice man" had dropped off the "most beautiful bouquet of flowers, there are so many, and so many kinds, they're gorgeous!" She told me they had really made her day, since she wasn't really celebrating. All I can say is - THANK YOU JOHN AND THANK YOU RAINDROPS AND ROSES, YOU ROCK!!!!! This flower shop is awesome! I had to get an order of fresh flowers for a wedding celebration dinner in town and needed a few vase arrangements for the tables as well as a bunch of long stem roses to give out to dinner guests. Raindrops and Roses did a beautiful job. They got me long stem lavender roses and made beautiful table arrangements for the price point I was looking for. They work with you on the look and price you want and everything was ready on time and looked amazing. I took home one of the table arrangements from the dinner, It's two weeks ago now and I kid you not the flowers look as good as the day I picked them up! Only changed the water once. Can't get fresher than this! It is also one of the most amazingly decorated flower shops I've ever seen. Fun just to browse around. It looks like a Victorian attic in an old mansion. They even have a life size gold Angel statue wishing well fountain in the middle of the shop. Very charming fun place. If you're in need of flowers or just want to browse interesting items and fresh roses, you'll really enjoy walking into this flower shop. I bought a house in Bay Shore and became a resident and I like to give business to local shops and stores and this shop is well worth giving your business to, they go that extra mile and make you feel special.
