I have gotten a suit tailored and I rented a tux for a wedding. Both times, Lucia went above and beyond for me. The tux rental was a service she provided through another tux rental company. I was surprised that they gave me a clip on tie, but I don't think that's Elegant Fashion's fault. My tailored suit fits great. This review is based on first impressions and a simple watch battery replacement, not any major purchase. I had been wanting to try this little local shop for some time as I had heard they had the least expensive watch battery installation in the area($5). Finally stopped in and dropped off 2 watches for batteries. The store is run by a husband(jeweler) and wife (seamstress). When I stopped in the husband was not in, but I was told I could leave the watches and pick them up the next day. OK by me. When I picked them up the husband informed me that there was a screw missing inside one of my watches (likely from the last place that did a battery change) and he had replaced it. Total for 2 watch batteries, screw replacement, and tax was $13. I don't think there is a warranty on the batteries but, for this price who cares? The places that provide a warranty are much more expensive and still require you to go back to them for a replacement. Gotta love Mom & Pop places; They are getting tough to find these days. read more

My 87-year-old father took a coat to Elegant Fashion to have a button sown on and a small area on the coat fixed up. Not a big deal. He was told to pick the coat up about a week later. He went back to get it and was told that it wasn't ready yet, come back in another few days. When he actually received the coat, after paying over $20 for the small repair and button, he looked it over and it looked like there was no repair except for the replacement button. When he went back to ask them to actually do the work he just paid for, the owners became very abusive toward him, yelling and swearing at him, saying he was lying and just wanted his money back. I should point out that he never asked for his money back, he was just asking to have the work done that he just paid for. I was referred to Elegant Fashion Design by Fancy Schmancy. Since I bought the dress at Apropos and it took 2 months to get it, I thought I could get alterations taken care of in a more timely manner by going to an independent business. Fancy Schmancy did alterations to a dress we purchased there last year and I thought they could make a referral. Well we got the dress back one day short of 3 weeks and 2 days before the prom. The dress did not fit correctly and Lucia did make another minor alteration within an hour and I was happy to leave, yet another store, with the dress before the prom. The major disappointment for me is that I was charged $ 193.00 to alter this dress. The triple layer hem was $ 125.00 and some bust alterations were ~ $ 50.00. Dry cleaning was $ 20.00. In light of the fact the store had the dress for 3 weeks and I paid almost $ 200.00 for what cost ~ $ 70.00 at Fancy Schmancy last year, I think the dress should, at the very least, have fit my daughter on our return. I am very disappointed. I will be afraid to return in the future, especially that alterations will cost more than the garment, not fit right and take a very long time. This is my experience. I wasn't going to post a review until I found pins in my coat. That is inelegant work. I dropped off my coat in April and didn't get it back until October. I understand that it was the prom season first. Then it became wedding season, owner vacation and unexpected injury. There was no updates on when it will be done until I called. They are a fraud. While logged onto my bank's web site (Chase), a window popped-up giving one the impression that Elegant Fashions is a sponsor of Chase making it appear that Chase was offering certain products to certain customers for the cost of only postage. In my case, the offer was for a men's watch for only the cost of $6.00 and change. The watch was $100. Not an expensive watch but one for my 16 year old grandson. So, I ordered it. I was then billed to my checking account (big mistake) the $6.00. A few days AFTER I received the watch (nice watch), I discovered a second charge to my checking account of $98.00. This is clearly misrepresentation/fraud. I put the the charge in dispute and its still pending. This ploy of theirs is pure PHISSHING which is a scam. BE AWARE! read more

I have been a customer of Elegant Fashion for 20 years. Mrs. Bruno is my trusted tailor, and does expert work, from all my work clothes, curtains, formal wear, kids' uniforms, and my wedding dress! My husband sees her for his suits as well. We are regulars! I trust her recommendations regarding what looks best on me, and how the clothing should be altered. another review regarding WATCH BATTERY replacement. based on prior reviews, i went see pasquale with two watches that needed batteries. he offered to do them immediately; however, i had an appointment that i couldn't be late for...and offered to leave them and pick them up later in the day. three hours later...they were ready, he wasn't in the store...and his wife took my $10/plus tax. great folks, hard working and MORE THAN FAIR since retail jewelers charge much more, and department stores won't change watch batteries any longer. Elegant Fashion is a fantastic business... Lucia came highly recommended by my mother in law so I brought my bridesmaids dress in for alterations (3 weeks before the wedding date... David's Bridal took over 3 months to get my dress in.) I was shocked to find that the dress ended up needing about 12 inches worth of fabric taken in. Lucia was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was given an estimation of 2 weeks for the alterations and it was done in a little over a week. She is one of the best priced seamstresses in the area and I honestly would not recommend anyone go anywhere else. read more
