They're conveniently located just off exit 2 on i-87, with plenty of parking, and very convenient hours. The communication was excellent, as was their knowledge of styles and clothing. I followed their advice on the alterations, and the clothing fit perfectly for the event. Pricing was, while not the cheapest, very fair for the quality of work. I recently bought a dress on a sale rack for $19 bucks that was more than one size too big while on vacation. I had a friend's wedding to attending to and thought this would be a great dress for the event. I couldn't pass up the sale! When I got home and tried it back on I realized how GIANT it was on me, probably 2-3 inches to be removed from the waist and an inch on the shoulders. I had never been to a tailor before but I felt that this tailor did a good job on helping me fix up this dress that would have been unwearable without the fixing. It cost $58 dollars for all the alterations, but she had to do a lot to get it to fit me. It is actually a pretty high end dress (originally around $100) so I feel that it was worth to get it fixed so I can wear it for more times to come. Everything fit well when I tried it on, it took about 3 weeks to finish but I wasn't in a rush so I told her whenever she could have it done. I will say the store inside was a bit of a shock, lots of equipment, garments, children running around but she did have dressing rooms and a large mirror to point on the changes. I paid when I picked up which I thought was a good policy. I wouldn't feel comfortable paying before I saw the changes. My mom (who made her own prom dress back in the day!) saw the dress after it was finished and said the work was very well done but the dress was not pressed when I picked it up. I'm a cyclist and was super excited to look like a badass roadie in my new team kit for a big group ride in June. Got a little gutsy, took a descent WAY too fast down a hill, crashed, and got a really nasty case of road rash. To make things more exciting, I ripped a huge hole in the butt of my pretty new cycling shorts and mooned everyone on my way back to my car. I had a race in 2 weeks and wasn't ready to pay $80 for a new pair of shorts, so I took my road-rashed shorts and my damaged ego to Hong Kong Tailors. Even brought an old pair of cycling shorts to use to patch them up, if needed. They looked at it, smirked as I told them my story, and said it wouldn't be a problem. So I decided to give HK Tailors a try before I took it all to donations. I had a bit of everything done, including hemming pants, bringing in waists, and slimming down the suit jacket. I had two pair of lined black pants hemmed at this business by Saboor about three years ago. Although the shop focuses on men's tailoring and custom European suiting, they also do alterations for women. One pair was wool, the other crepe--and by a very expensive designer, both purchased at TJ Maxx. Saboor hemmed both pairs perfectly, and at an extremely reasonable price. He was very professional, zippy and precise at measurement, and the turnaround time was fast. I don't know if they have changed since, but the premises is very small, and the dressing room is only a cubicle with a curtain. It is not set up for customer comfort. But if you know professional tailoring, you won't care. The space they have available is used for cutting tables, European suiting fabric sample books, sewing machines, and fabric bolts. This is a true tailor's shop--not a boutique. If entering through a shadowy staircase and sitting on a folding chair annoys you--go elsewhere. But if you want excellent, quality tailoring or alterations, for extremely reasonable prices, this is the place to go. read more

The lady there seemed very nice and pleasant. However, she was very busy the day I asked her to have my bridesmaid dress altered for tomorrow. I know it was sort notice. She had so much work to complete, and it looked like she could not have my dress finished when I needed it. She said she would do it, but it would cost more. I was so glad she could do. I picked up the dress the very next day. I paid her $65, when normally it cost $25. When I got home to try it on, she did not even work on it. THE DRESS WAS STILL THE SAME!! I did not even go and complain to her, because I had to leave for Long Island three ours later to meet up with the bride. Do not go here in a hurry! YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF! MY advice is carefully look over the work after it is done. Otherwise, she is no nicer than a scam artist. read more

I've been here 3 separate times to alter pants and 2 coats and I've found the attention to detail and the fit of the finished products to my liking. This place is EXCELLENT! I had a dress custom tailored for a wedding here and it would take a magnifying glass to tell I had it altered. I brought the dress in 2 weeks before the wedding and felt terrible about it-- Hong Kong Tailors was professional, friendly, and SUPER accommodating! They even offered to go out and get the fabric themselves if the fabric I brought did not "fall right" with my gown. I am so happy I found this business and will definitely be returning!! read more

Do not come here !!!! The ruined my daughters wedding dress they couldn't figure out the bustle for her wedding dress and charged me for a hem that was crooked. I had to take it someplace else for emergency alterations and it cost me more then the wedding dress to fix the bad hem and bustle with only two days before the wedding!!! I will be filing a complaint with BBB and taking to small claims court for the faulty work and my extra expenses. read more

I sent them an email on a Monday night asking if there was any way possible they would be able to alter a cocktail dress for me that I needed by that Friday at 3pm. Rahima emailed me right back and told me to bring in the dress so that she could take a look at it. I brought the dress to her the next day and she told me that it would not be a problem. She didn't even charge me extra for the rush on it. I picked the dress up on Friday and when I tried it on it fit like a glove.
