Holy moly! This guy is a miracle worker. I purchased a gown online for my stepson's wedding that was scheduled for May. Of course, it was postponed due to Covid. When I received the dress in March, it was a little snug but I knew I had time to lose weight. Fast forward to August.. I decide I should try on the dress since the wedding is now only 5 weeks away. Lo and behold, the dress now barely zips up. I not only didn't lose weight, I actually gained weight! I decide I will just reorder a bigger size and hope I receive it in time. But, to be sure, I decide to have my measurements taken professionally. I call my local seamstress but she's closed and I'm in a rush. I look on line and see these great reviews about Tony. I call and he says sure, I can take your measurements. I decide to bring my dress , just in case. I tell Tony what happened and he asks if I have dress with me. He looks at it, and there is little to no extra material to work with. He has me try it on and says he can make it fit! I'm sort of shocked but his assuredness has me curious. Today I picked it up. I am so amazed by his craftsmanship! I was expecting him to add panels or something to give me some extra room. But, that is not what he did. Somehow, he fixed the dress with perfect seams everywhere. I don't think anyone would ever know this dress was altered. He is not inexpensive. But, his quality of work is worth every single penny. By the way, he completed this alteration in one week's time! So, if you need something altered for a special occasion, I highly recommend Tony the Tailor. He is by far, one of the best in his field. I get my denim hemmed and altered here. Tony is fantastic with it. His measurements are spot on and the stitching is always perfect using correct fibers. He doesn't cut corners, does all the work himself by hand and charges very reasonable rates. He also is very good at patching up the inevitable crotch blowouts. I needed a pair of motorcycle jeans hemmed in a hurry for a trip and every tailor in the area was saying it would take about a week. I've passed by Tony's shop for years and never even knew it was there. After asking around mutiple friends recommended Tony hands down. I'm so glad I listened. I got to his shop at 8:30am and explained my situation. His response, come back after 12 today and they'll be ready. I came back at 2 and they were sitting on a chair waiting for me and to top it off he didn't charge me any extra. His stitching was also spot on. I picked up the pants I brought to Tony for alterations this afternoon. This was my first time ever going to see "Tony the Tailor". He was fantastic! My silk pants came out perfect and he was able to do the alterations in just a few days! His prices were more than fair and he's a very pleasant man who takes pride in his work. At first I was skeptical about them being pinned too short, but Tony assured me that he would make the adjustments so that I could wear them with heels. He does beautiful work. Ladies PLEASE DON'T bring you wedding gown here. I came here looking to get my full length gown cut to tea length and to simply take in the sides. I felt slightly uncomfortable that he persistently tried to change my mind about cutting the dress. He told me that the dress would take 7 days to alter. I came back to find he needed another week which irritated me because he presented the timeline before with reassurance. When I recieved my dress the bottom wa LAYERED. I asked why he did this and it wasn't what we discussed, and he said " I thought it would look better this way" I was so angry I took my dress and left. I'd like to preface my review by saying that Tony is very pleasant. However, I felt that his prices were very high and he did not listen to my requests. His thick accent and a possible language barrier may have contributed to the misunderstanding, but instead of listening to what I wanted he told me what was "in fashion" and went ahead with tailoring my jacket as he pleased. In the end, I was left with a poorer fitting jacket than what I brought in and I will need to take it elsewhere to be fixed. I will no longer be bringing my business to Tony. read more
