Yesterday we had the second fireplace set of doors installed in our home. The first ones were done about a year ago and we were so happy we ordered the second set for another room. I suppose you can buy similar doors at other places but these folks are so easy to work with and know what they are doing. Steve at the shop looked up my first order on the phone and took a deposit. He sent over someone to measure and complete the order. They always call to verify their appointment and also give you a heads up when they are about 30 minutes out. We had not used our home's fireplace in the 6-years we've lived here and decided to look into getting gas logs. I visited Elegant Fireside and Patio in Plano and spoke with the owner, Jacob. He was very consultative and went over the various options in terms of our fireplace and discussed inserts vs. gas logs. He wasn't pushy at all, but made the case for what he recommended. We chose a set of Hargrove Woodland Timbers gas logs and installation was set for approximately 10-days away from purchase date. I had some concerns around the install and spoke with Steve a couple times and he heard my concerns an reassured me that the install would not be a problem. Install date arrived and the installer arrived on time and was here less than 2-hours. In that time the chimney was inspected and cleaned, the firebox was painted black, the gas log set was installed, and the surrounding space in the firebox was covered with around 2.5" of fireglass. Wow! What a transformation! And the Hargrove Woodland Timbers 30" set definitely adds warmth to the room. Vented gas logs are mainly for aethetics, but this radiant heat set from Hargrove does throw significant heat! I cannot recommend Elegant Fireside and Patio high enough. They have top-notch products, well exceeding big-box store products. Jacob and Steve are very knowledgeable and a pleasure to do business with. read more

I had them come for an inspection to check out my fireplace and to make sure it was ready for winter. The guy arrived, asked me for a tape measure, looked inside the fireplace then handed me a bill for just under $200. He was there for about the same time it takes to go through a Starbucks drive-thru. The "inspector" didn't even turn on the gas...Absolutely unacceptable. read more

Purchasing gas logs from this company was one of the most bizarre and frustrating experiences of my life. I dealt with outright LIES, with the right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing, with shocking lack of information about the product or the supplier. Also one of the employees told me that the company's places new construction above existing construction and above repairs on existing construction. I had to wait 12 weeks for my logs. After 9 weeks, when I called to check on my PAID order, I was told that they were delayed at the Canadian border. Actually, I learned, my logs, which were made in California, WERE NOT YET ORDERED!!! Chimney King did not place the order until week 9, when I asked my credit card company for a chargeback!!! An employee called me, shocked, saying, "don't you want these?" Lies, ineptitude and the company's clear concern only for new construction made this a NEVER AGAIN experience for me. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!!! The woman that works here has absolutely NO BUSINESS being in retail. We walked in and started looking around at the displays when she storms out of the back with her hateful attitude and argumentative tone and that was actually the pleasant part. We drove there because a very nice gentleman at another store suggested that they might have what we were looking for. I told her I didn't know the model of my insert and asked for suggestions as to where we could look. She told me that she didn't know what model I had (no shit) and that I should look look at the papers from when I bought the house to find out. My experience with Chimney King was excellent! I've owned my house for 8 years and only just invested in getting gas logs for the fireplace. I visited the store a few times, once to price out logs, once to purchase them at a fantastic deal, and a third time to ask why my fireplace might not be lighting up as well as expected. They advised me well about the potential issues (of which they were correct) and offered the business card of a plumber with whom they've worked. I opted to use the plumber of the home builder to potentially negotiate a warranty or installation issue to assist with the financing. There was debris in the pipe, which the home builder's plumbing company took care of, at no charge. The folks at Chimney King were friendly, gave me a great deal on the logs, and were there to support me in any way I felt I needed to get the fireplace up and running. Take our word for it and do not I repeat do not use this company. We walk into the store see the logs we want and were asked what the size was we needed. The sales person encouraged us to go home take the measurements and we could phone him back and he would gladly put it on a credit card. At no time in this conversation did he tell us that if we in fact returned it we would be charged a credit card fee or a restocking fee. Upon phoning with the size and providing the credit card information they conveniently had a spot for installation the next day. The installer arrives, does not even take our logs out of his truck to tell us that we have $2500 worth of repair to our fire box that they will gladly do before installing the fire logs. We instruct him to return the fire logs and we would get a credit. We then continue to fight with the store manager as he wants to initially charge us a credit card fee for returning the logs because we declined their $2500 of repair because we were able to get it completely repaired for $800. We declined the logs because the principle of this company being disingenuous. We then had to dispute the charges with the credit card company. The store manager will not phone is back as we have repeatedly found and asked for him to so that we can discuss this and wrote us a several page letter telling us how bad his business was. We then state to the credit card company after we remind this store that it is an illegal charge to charge the credit card fees in the state of Texas then he changes his tune and the fee is now a restocking fee. This company is a joke -- go somewhere else. read more

They took the time to explain every aspect of our purchase to make sure what we bought actually would meet our needs. After the stove was ordered they also did the installation, the two men who put in the stove were very knowledgable and professional the stove not only looked great but works better than we expected.
