There were a few things that lead to my review. The first is, when I got to my appointment, my technician was still working on someone (which is nbd). After a few minutes of waiting, the previous client left, and she had me immediately lie down on the same table. They didn't wipe down the table or use sanitation/disposable cloths, which kind of bothered me. I requested for a wispy lash look. Typically at my previous appointments at various lash extension salons, the technician would ask me detailed questions about my preferences, and ask me what length, curliness, and volume I like. I wasn't asked any questions, only told to show me a picture of lashes I wanted. I felt like the extension process was fine, was poked a few times. Finally I was disappointed at how fast my lashes fell off (~5 days), which was a bummer because I got them done to look nice for a bachelorette party coming up in a week. I felt like the appointment was fast (45-55minutes). read more

I had a lash appointment with Chloe yesterday. I've always had great experiences with her and she normally does an excellent job. Unfortunately, this visit was very different. During my appointment, she became sick and had to step outside twice to cough. Each time she returned, she did not wash or sanitize her hands, and she wasn't wearing a mask. I was very uncomfortable with the lack of basic hygiene precautions, especially since she continued working in such close contact. I have since become sick, and while I can't say for certain where I caught it, the experience was concerning enough that I felt it was important to share. I hope the salon reinforces proper hygiene practices when employees are ill. If you're concerned about exposure, you may want to wear a mask to your appointment. read more

Update-- Back to where I started haha. I took a long break from lash extensions, 400 days to be exact (from what their system told me when I checked in). I did try another place in between for special occasion, but I dunno-- ha. I came back to Chloe-- so happy to see she's still here. I booked with Chloe and she's now a master lash tech, which I'm not surprised because she has always had the most gentle and lightest hands ever. She's sweet and can tell I get antsy with things near my eyes, therefore, she's extra careful and gentle. I'm very anxious with anything near my eyes and needles/scissors, but for lashes I try to suck it up lol, hence why I don't do them often and when I do, I always do the super natural option and she always gets it right. She does the right amount of super natural, but still a nice pop that enhances my eyes without looking dramatic or so natural where I'm like---this is too natural. She strikes the perfect balance. Very happy with my lashes and reminds me why I like getting them done. Anyway, same as always--easy to make appointments online and a lot of reminders beforehand and day of appointment. Very clean- she wipes down the chair before next appointment. Quiet and peaceful vibes with soft meditation music in the background. Prices are reasonable and fair in comparison to other places. I like the man that works the front desk. He greets and makes sure things go smoothly. He keeps an eye on things since we all got our eyes closed. Lmao. I'll definitely be back. Long story short: The lash tech CUT my lashes with SCISSORS which I later found out was a big no no :( they also turned out uneven with one lash being droopy I came in for wispy volume, which I selected on their website. I told the lash tech I wanted them slightly longer than natural and thought volume meant fluffy. They turned out to look like super long strip lashes, but not fluffy. I did not see the volume like in the picture below. I asked for a fix which is in their policy. the end result had the volume I was expecting the first time but when I got home, I noticed that they were uneven and one was droopy, making my eyes look uneven. These were supposed to be my WEDDING lashes so I was panicking!! Happy ending: I ended up finding Chateau Luxe Salon in Irvine and got these removed and new extensions in that I love just in time for my wedding!! read more

I had a fill done by Rosy in the Santa Ana location, and she was amazing! She worked so seamlessly. And I was so surprised, when she instructed me to go ahead and open my eyes, my eyes weren't affected by the adhesive at all! The first location I went to had actually started to burn my eyes as I was getting the extensions, causing my eyes to water, but I actually didn't experience that at all. Rosy even asked "is it still burning?" And was so happy to let her know that there was no burning at all. Apart from that, I loved her work. I went with the elegant lashes with the cat eye style, and I honestly walked out of my appointment feeling ten times as confident as when I left from my experience at the other location. This five star review is for Lucy and Chloe; they've both been phenomenal in being gentle with my lashes and they never remove lashes in a painful way, which I've unfortunately experienced at another Katie's lashes location. They truly are such great technicians, and very kind and understanding. I appreciate all of the appointments I've had with them! The not so stellar part of this review is for the receptionist. I drive quite far for these appointments (most times from Los Angeles, or from work, which takes about an hour). I do my best to get there on time, and usually I'm within a few minutes of my start time. Because I don't have many lashes, I know my fill will usually not take a full hour. I do not appreciate the texts while I'm driving. My car does not have the option to audio text, and it is quite stressful when he texts me sometimes a few minutes before my appointment or exactly at my appointment time to ask if I'm close to the lash studio ; sometimes MULTIPLE texts within a few minute of each other. Of course I'm close, otherwise I would just call the call center and cancel. I would much rather appreciate a phone call because it's been quite dangerous to text and drive. Sometimes he is so insistent that I've completely started silencing the number that he texts from because I don't want to be even more stressed out than I already am; especially when I'm late because of other accidents on the freeways. It's quite unreasonable and I don't understand the need for it. Secondly, their bathroom does not lock properly. I have always feared people walking in on me, and of course finally it happened when I was wearing a one-piece outfit that required me to basically take off the whole piece to use the restroom. And of course it was the receptionist who walked in on me. When I opened the door, it was obviously unlocked. So I turned the lock to make sure it was the opposite of position I found it in (sounds pretty reasonable right? You should turn it to the opposite side of whatever position you found it in if you are able to OPEN the door in the previous position). Instead of knocking, he opened it and I was utterly shocked and terrified. I confronted him after the fact and I told him he needs to look into fixing that lock or at least making sure it says which way is "lock" or"unlock" because it's not clear at all. Although he was apologetic, I didn't appreciate that he doubled down and said that the lock works, I just need to turn it the right way (?) It clearly doesn't. Additionally, there have been a few times when I've been cancelled on for reasons outside my control (I understand, life happens). In the instances where I absolutely need to have my lashes done (my wedding, a big event, traveling), I'll typically book two appointments just in case my lash technician needs to cancel. I work far, I work two jobs in two different health facilities, and I work 11 hour shifts. There aren't many time slots that work for me, and I usually try to time it on my day off or a day where I work a late shift. During the times I was cancelled on, I was completely out of luck and I couldn't be rescheduled because of my tight schedule so I had to find another lash studio that wasn't as pleasant of an experience as Lucy or Chloe. So once I started booking a back up appointment, I would cancel the appointment as long as I was able to be seen by my first choice appointment without being cancelled on. the receptionist one time was so upset that I could hear his voice quivering when he completely admonished me for booking twice and went into a long winded talk about scheduling. I was too shocked to even respond why I needed a back up appointment. It was quite unnerving. So all in all, I really like the technicians. I'm not thrilled about the excessive texting while I'm doing my best to drive safely to my appointments. read more

I'm not saying to not come here just know who you're coming to. The day before my vacation I so happen to get a horrible job. I asked for whisky volume long. I'm telling her and she's just looking at me quiet, not even responding. No one was home when I was talking to her basically- just a blank stare. I got these lashes done on Wednesday and this is them on Friday. I went to Lucy, it was my first time there, and I don't know if they actually have me Lucy because she had amazing reviews on Yelp. My experience wasn't the same. lucy didn't really explain or help too much when it came to picking my lash extensions and didn't tell me anything about aftercare. It's fine though, I don't mind that party too much. The lashes turned out fine - not exactly what I wanted and she missed a lot of the outer lashes even after I asked her to fill it in more. What I care about is when I went home and notified on a zoomed mirror how many pieces of extensions are glued to multiple lashes. A basic google search will show you this is a huge no no and will damage your natural lashes!! It's poor isolation and It looks like it was put on too far from the lash line. If I could give this rating a zero I would. Buyer beware! I went to Elegant Lashes by Katie on 17th St. yesterday and on their website they boast how talented their "technicians" are, each with a specialty. It's a bunch of beds in a small room, so unprofessional. I went to Natalie, thinking that she has the specialty of giving me the Wispy Wet Set, since the company put that in her bio. What I got instead was the Mega Volume Set, my eyelashes were outrageously done. I've been to many places for eyelash extensions but I was in a bind as my regular place had no availability right away. It's was obvious she didn't know how to do the Wispy lashes; so their website lied. I asked Natalie why my lashes did not look like Wispy Wet Set that's on the website and she said because my eye shape was different than the picture. I asked her, as the expert, shouldn't she be able to tailor the lashes with different eye shapes? She asked me if I wanted her to remove some lashes and of course I said yes.I also asked her if these lashes were multiple lashes on one of my lashes and she said no, they were one-to-one. She lied about that because when I got home to remove some more, the lashes, they were in bundles of three to one of my lashes. Why lie about that? I also asked what material are the lashes made of? Are they mink? Synthetic mink? She said mink but I'm not so sure. When I left, a few other clients had finished and their eyelashes were the Mega Volume, as well. I'm beginning to think that this is the only technique this company knows. This company gravely exaggerates the skills of their "technicians" and that's false advertising. They are under skilled. Ruby does a great job. She is my favorite. I usually ask for the hybrid, wispy cat eye. This is a great express eyelash spot. Service is usually very quick and you are in and out within an hour or so. Only thing I do wish is that they cleaned the lashes. So you will need to make sure to clean your lashes before your appointment. read more

CHLOE is my favorite. I have been to every single location of Elegant Lashes and have experienced multiple different artists. CHLOE always leaves me beyond satisfied. She is so meticulous and gentle with her hands when removing the tape. She is also so sweet, bubbly and gives you exactly what you want. I've had past experiences where artists have glued my eyelashes shut or ripped the tape off my eyelids at the end. I've also experienced other artists cough over me, talk on the phone, listen to super loud podcasts, eat and slurp their drink the entire time. MCHLOE keeps it super professional and makes sure you are very comfortable. She always asks if I want a blanket or if I need anything. There is a reason she books up fast so I recommend booking a head of time. I learned this the hard way. Also, parking is rough so give yourself extra time and don't be cheap with your tip. read more
