Use to love this place because I went for Michelle. Had one of my appointments scheduled for 5 and it was canceled because "two big parties are coming" no accommodations just canceled my appointment at 11am. Made a second appointment to just remove my old nails that's all....and that was canceled without notice or phone call as well. Took my preteen daughter once and the nail tech cut her finger! Didnt take anything off the price just apologized. My daughter hasn't shown interest in getting her nails done again after that incident. Third times the charm and I will not be returning. I have never gotten my nails serviced and received work that looks so bad in my life. I got a pedicure and requested "milky white polish" the person who serviced me put gel and then upcharged me $15 for it. Now there was no conversation that shellac/gel was an up charge beforehand. I would've paid it but the fact that it was just added doesn't sit right with me to do that under the table The manicure? Absolutely not. The apex is so bad that you can feel indentations on all 10 nails. There's no side polish and they are misshapen. I originally wanted a design but midway through changed my mind when I saw how bad it was. I tried trusting the process but it just got worse and worse. I wanted to get it removed but I had also been there almost two hours. The staff standing next to the check in clerk tried adding services I didn't receive also. She did not service me or even speak to me the entire time but came up and said "and you got removal right?" I said no and she asked if I was sure. Then she said "but you got French?" Again, I clearly did not. Because of this I got an itemized receipt and saw that I was charged $15 for gel (on a gel pedi) and another 5 for "length". Would not recommend at all. My high school daughter went to get her nails done before prom, first I will say they were done beautifully. My complaint is they charged $5 for shaping, $5 for "extra length" and they aren't long, $10 for "deep French tips" again regular length. $15 for a small amount of chrome and $10 for design. For a grand total of $103!!! They totally took advantage of a teen aged girl. Shame on you, Michelle. There was nothing extra that this set should have been this expensive. For about $39, tip included, I got a pedicure -- soak, massage & sugar scrub that whisked away both heels' dry, cracked skin. They look great. Price also included getting toenails painted. Got to sit in adjustable massage chair where I played with the buttons & felt different effects. Rather busy/noisy: Seems they earn their profit on volume because pedi prices are lower than many other places: If you need quiet pampering this isn't the place for that. Reason for 4 instead of 5 stars: Guy who handled my feet asked questions about what I wanted, but his accented English was difficult to understand. That is not a slam against immigrants: They must earn a living too. and I am happy this business succeeds for them. I have been to Elegant Nails on three separate occasions. The first visit was great (about 3 months ago)! The second felt rushed. The third visit I brought a group of friends and we had multiple problems; two of the girls' requested nail colors were wrong, too much skin was cut, and important steps were skipped. They did redo the colors that came out wrong when it was brought to their attention and the owner seemed very eager to make it right. It's been a couple of days since we went and we all now have noticed that we have bacteria issues with our feet (warts and skin between toes peeling). I'm so disappointed and embarrassed to have brought them all. I implore Elegant Nails to take better care. UPDATE: Doctor confirmed I have the beginnings of Athletes foot. Honestly, they're fine. Nothing super special. I'm not entirely disappointed with the results but I don't love my nails. I wanted a light pink dip with chrome and the chrome is more irredentist i stead of smooth pearl like. Also, you can see the specks of the chrome. They are very thick so hopefully they'll last. The people were really nice though. UPDATE: I added another star because I decided to go back in and they were so kind to fix it!! I ended up leaving with exactly what I was looking for! Which would be fine if they were experienced and customer service oriented. They are rushing you, don't take off your shoes or pull up your pants leg, don't offer water, nor cut nails properly. Second visit in. My friend reccomended this salon to me and I have left happy each time. Each time I have gone in they seem to be fully staffed, and gwt you in a chair ready to begin. Each time I have gone I god dip powdered nails and they have turned out great. This salon is following the statewide mask requirement, hand washing, and social distancing. I had an excellent experience at Elegant Nail Spa, my tech did a wonderful job on my pedicure and manicure! I had a lot of work in store for the tech when I arrived...I had a weird experience at the last salon; the tech hurt me, on purpose after I told him "that hurts!" For many months I associated pedicures with pain and could not bring myself to get a pedi. Yesterday I went to my alternate salon and it was disheveled. I left in disbelief. So I gave Elegant a try as it's close to home. My experience at Elegant was a joy, it turned my pain association around as well as a clean and professional environment. Update: had a "just ok" experience this time with getting shellac french mani - they seemed in a huge rush despite my having an appt and there being no one waiting, and it was reflected in the quality of the work. My manicurist didn't ask about how I'd like my french tips to look (I wanted thicker width so they can be maintained as they grow out), did my first one beautifully but thinner, and rolled her eyes when I asked for the rest to be a bit thicker (not even asking to have this one redone). The final product is fine from afar, but has small defects over the surface as well as ragged ends (visible in the picture attached). I guess with one good and one bad visit, I'll give them a third chance to break the tie... not quite sure if this place is lovely or not. read more

They take off your acrylic nails with another nail and pry them off, they are ruff with your nails and take off your natural nails with the acrylic every time. The first time I went I liked them a lot but the more I came the worse they got. They are overpriced and change prices to where I never know how much i'll pay, I got a full set one time they were 55, another time they were 65 (I only get plain colors no design). The nails fall off or break within 2 weeks, usually 1. When you go in to get the one nail fixed they will take off another one you didn't ask to be taken off and charge you 10 dollars for 2 nails. The top coat peels off and the nails are never done well and lift on the sides to where you cannot get a fill and will have to get a full. They have terrible costumer service to the point where they don't even deserve a tip. The woman at the front desk who also does nails changes the prices and is overall sketchy and does not talk to you. Overall I don't think this place does a good job at all. There is peeling, chipping, nails falling off within days, bad costumer service, and they're overpriced. I could do better. read more

Took my girls (13 and 14) here to get their first set of nails! I felt so bad because we walked in 40 mins till close and asked for 2 full sets with designs. They didn't make me or my girls feel bad for walking in so late (even though we all knew they would be working past closing) and welcomed us. We had about a 10 minute wait and the nail techs started. pricey but worth it. this is the only place i get my acrylic nails done in kalamazoo. i'm very picky and they do not disappoint. the only service i didn't care for was a pedicure i received because they soaked my feet so long (about 20 mins) that they were pruney and i didn't enjoy it at all. my feet also still had dry skin on them after. i think it may have been because they were super busy that day so i'm willing to give a pedicure another chance since they do such a great job on my finger nails. read more

They literally committed extortion. On October 30th, I went to Elegant Nails and spa to have a full set of nails done with dip powder. The tech did not do the nails right, and I sat for 2 hrs during the service. By that time I needed to get home to my dogs and my back was aching terribly (post car accident). I went home and called the shop to request to come in and have the nails fixed later in the afternoon. I had already spent $73.80 on subpar nails. I went back, and they bounced me around between different techs and ultimately drilled down the bad nail job and painted them and sent me on my way. This is not the service that I had originally paid for, I only wanted a full set of dip nails, no polish. It was an addition 1 hour in the shop for this "fix." Now the nails fell apart the next day (Sunday) and they are closed. So I waited until Monday to go back and have them fixed. Monday October 2, I went back, and they offered to take the nails off. When I went back and said I felt I should receive a refund, she said they do not do that, and pointed to a sign on their counter. So the manager offered to redo my nails so that I would be happy. I agreed to this and another tech redid the nails completely the way I have done them the first time. At the end the tech said I owed $50 dollars. I was very confused, and she said speak with the manager so I went back and spoke with her. She told me I owe 50 for the redo and I said that she never told me that and if she had told me I was going to have to pay again, I would not have agreed to sit down and do them again. I explained and showed my receipt from Saturday and she said no I owe 50 dollars. I told her that makes little sense since she had just said we were redoing a bad job. She then refused to talk to me further and turned her back to me refusing to engage. I remained very calm until the end when she threatened to call the police on me if I didn't pay more money for a service that I had already paid for. There were many other customers in the store at that time 1230 ish. The manager then said that she would do $20 for the nails. I was so flustered and upset and have never had cops involved in something like this so I said only as a tip to the woman that did my nails would I pay 20 dollars. She nodded and brought up the payment on the card scanner. When I read the amount, she was charging me 41.20. I asked her why it was now higher when she had just stated she would take $20. She tried to say it was a 3% surcharge. I said how is 3% of $20 adding up to $41.20. She had no answer and again turned her back to me refusing to speak to me. I felt at that point that this woman was using extortion to gain more money and the threat was calling the police. I felt at this point filing an official complaint was the safest option. I have both receipts and there were many customer witnesses at the time of the incident. read more
