Stopped in because this salon was convenient. Completely on me, should've gone to my usual place. Busy mom who thought the reviews were semi decent. This atmosphere is fine, but man I don't think they have cleaned this place in years. Literally, dust (nail dust) is piled on EVERYTHING, you have to put your purse on the floor. They are very pushy when it comes to trying to up charge you... the guy told me after soaking my dip "I'm not going to charge you for soaking your nails this time, but we usually do" I'm sorry, whatttt?! I showed a picture of ombré nails from Pinterest which I've had done multiple times before at another salon. I can't describe why it looks terrible, but you can just tel this guy taught himself, and not the correct way. The edges of my nails are rough, the gel top coat didn't look good. He did attempt to fix it, but honestly, I was just ready to get out of there. All-in-all if you don't have high expectations then definitely check this place out. Otherwise, stay away. I do NOT recommend. Cheap, but you get what you pay for. I've gone here twice now months apart, hoped the first visit was a fluke. It was not. Both times I had gel acrylic nails taken off and a manicure after, completely destroyed my nails. Upset I even went back. They used a dremel both times to get the gel off, later I found out it is suppose to be with acetone. The lady sanded my nails down so much that they hurt when I just press on the nails and they break SO easily now. I was opening a cardboard pasta box and my nail bent, hurt, and broke. My nails are normally pretty strong so this was definitely from how she handled my nails. BOTH visits, my manicures were really bad. The first time my paint chipped the FIRST day. This time it chipped the second really bad. 2 days later this time, half my fingers were chipped. Horrible job, would never go back. Also, the 2nd time I visited I asked for a very simple design too on one finger. The lady that worked with me couldn't draw a simple black straight line. It clearly didn't look good. It was crooked and the thickness varied so much in that one line. She was going to leave it there and I had to ask her to take it off . Which is fine, but she could have just been up front with the fact she couldn't do the design. Find a different nail salon. Not worth your time or money. read more

This nail shop is definitely a quiet gem in Tampa. I have been coming here for years. The prices are very affordable and they do a great job. I usually go to the same lady for my pedi and mani, but there have been times where I couldn't because they were busy and another lady had to do it. They all do a great job and I never have to complain. A pedi and mani is only $35bucks. With a pedicure you get a quality pedicure with a lil leg massage and hot towel during your appointment. Same with the mani, they clean up your nails really good and cut your cuticles. They also give you a lil arm massage and a hot towel on your arms. Ahh! Other places charge more for the simple massage and hot towel. I'm just saying! You can not beat that price. I love the fact that all the workers are friendly and they try to get you in and out when you come, all while doing a great job. I always like to see if the way they do your nails are consistent and they are consistent with the process in doing your mani or pedi. I hate when nails shops rush and don't do the job thoroughly when it's packed. This shop is doing a lot of renovations this month and will be closed for a few weeks. I have been coming to this nail salon ever since I moved to Tampa from NYC two year ago. They do an excellent job on gel nail sets, and I do just a regular pedicure. They also do nice, natural brow wax. Everyone is nice, hard working, they do a great job. My nails have never been this healthy or long, which I think has a lot to do with their double (sometimes triple) coat of gel. Just make sure if you are changing colors you request a manicure as well. If you want it. I prefer to do a manicure every time, not just a color change. read more

I had an appointment here at 9:30am. when I arrived, no one was in the store. The doors were locked, the lights were off, and no one was answering the phone. It took until about 10 or so before I was let in. I got my nails done and they came out with some flaws, but overall are okay. I came here to get a fill on my acrylics and after one day the acrylic started lifting off and two nails came off. Along with one of my nail beds cracking because of how poorly they were done. And it is very painful. I am very upset with this place and after calling a refund wasn't an option and when I asked if I get could it fixed they said I would be additionally charged. This place is a place you have to try for yourself. Everybody will have different experiences. I enjoyed myself here. They were really nice. Greeted me once I walked in and asked what was it that I wanted to do? Made me pick a color and I waited til called for a pedicure. They were really nice and precise with the polish on my toes and cuticles cut to perfection. The lady ( I wish I got her name) did such a great job and encouraged me the healthier option for my nails were gel polish instead of full set. ESP since they were the same price. I didn't feel like they were trying to rob me. So this man did my nails and was very playful the whole time which didn't make sitting there awkward and boring. I also did my eyebrows. Not gonna lie. My eyebrows felt rushed and she didn't spent quality time on them. I've gotten my eyebrows done at better places. But it still turned out pretty decent. I can't lie. So that wasn't an issue. Inside this nail salon it seemed friendly and I felt very relaxed during my luxury pedicure. The problem is I thought my nails were good till I got home. My left 4th toe polish isn't smooth and in certain lighting it looks like there is only one coat of polish. Also it looks like there wasn't any clear coat added on the top. It's hard to see but on my middle toe on the right side the polish is messed up as well. All I did was come straight home so I didn't mess up my polish and was very careful. This salon is located in a strip mall off Bruce B Downs in the same plaza as Dunderbak's and Acropolis. I've been coming here for several years to get pedicures. They do such an excellent job and it lasts for weeks - I love it! The staff may come off as short or brusk, sometimes, but I think it's just because they are very busy and working hard. The ladies will talk with you a little bit while scrubbing or massaging your feet, but don't expect a Chatty Cathy you can have a conversation with. I went here with a friend of mine before class and we had a great experience! We walked in on a weekday around 5:30 for pedicures and they got us right into a chair! I got a gel polish, which was extra but it's so worth it. It's been a week, and my nails haven't even come close to chipping or losing shine. I was really impressed with the service. Everyone there was so nice and accommodating. The place is set up like a typical nail salon but they have plenty of stations and employees to accommodate a lot of customers at once. I will say the smell of acetone was not bad at all. Obviously you'll smell some of it but it's not overpowering like at some nail salons! This was a plus in my opinion. Nails weren't terrible but obviously rushed and could have been much better if actual effort was put forth. My biggest issue is with the customer service... or should I say lack thereof. Employees literally sleeping at their station, and then I had the (dis)pleasure of dealing with my nail tech. I'm not sure if I'm spoiled, but when I go to a nail salon I expect to be pampered, or at least be relaxed. I come in, and I'm getting over a cough, so when so cough my tech goes "You smoke too much" I laugh because I do have a sense of humor, and normally I don't get easily upset by workers in any customer service position, but this visit got annoying fast. I mention that I'm tired, and I must have set off something in this man, because he takes it upon himself to wake me up. How? By repetitively hitting me with a nail file, poking my hand, flicking me on my new acrylics, pulling my fingers all while saying "Wake up" I laughed the first few times, but as the visit went on it became annoying and almost felt malicious. Like can you stop f&$@ing touching me and do my nails? Especially while you're rushing them? It came to the point I was giving him death glares in the eyes and I was ready to leave, especially after one intense glare I get a "what?" from his rude self. When I tell him how short I wanted them, and how big the French I wanted, I get "Huh?" Sorry but the proper response is excuse me or anything remotely polite. He was so rude, just saying "wash your hands", and basically barking at me for everything he needs me to do. No sense of service at all. I come back from washing my hands and he just says "25" I purposely pulled out all the money I was going to tip him and just hand him the 25 and sat through my personal hell for another 15 minutes. Maybe if you like rude service, being touched by a stranger repetitively, or rushed nails this place is probably a dream come true. Disappointing that it's 2 minutes from my boyfriends house and you'd expect better from Tampa Palms salon, at least some courtesy. I'll be staying with my usual salon even with the long commute. Try Ninis at least there you can keep your fingers intact by the end of the manicure. read more

Also he told me they were charging for length! $50, then he cut down literally a centimeter and said $45. He said extra for coffin shape which these aren't square they're coffin anyway. First off, I was short on time so I called ahead so I wouldn't have to wait. On the phone, i asked about their prices and the guy said "I don't know we tell you when you get here". When I got there, I not only had to wait 30 minutes but they let 3 people who came after me go before me (they didn't forget about me. I truly don't understand why they did this). All this would be fine but the man doing my nails was beyond rude. I broke my finger earlier in the week so I asked him to be gentle with that finger. He mocked me the entire time, even saying things like "are you gonna cry? are you gonna cry like a little girl?" while twisting my BROKEN finger and laughing? I think he was joking but it was so bizarre and unnecessary. He looked bored and annoyed the entire time and didn't bother making any conversation. He did pretty good with my nails but "pretty good" isn't enough to act the way he did. The lady who did my pedicure was sweet so I don't think they're all this much of a nightmare. However, I still would steer clear because the place and tools used all seemed unclean. I think they may have even used the UV light for feet on my hands and i don't think it was cleaned (so gross). And the icing on top, the lady told me at the register "when you spend $50, you get $5 off" but I was at $48. Like that's cool, maybe you should've told me that when I was actually getting my nails done? Maybe I would've gotten the "deluxe" pedicure (which is actually equivalent to a basic pedicure at most other places). read more

Me and my boyfriend walked in and asked for 2 pedicures. There was one person in the chair and two workers walking around. The lady who walked up to me said pick a color I told her I use gel she said to take off my gel I already had on, the pedicure, and to repolish the gel is $45. If i could give 0 stars, i would. I was overcharged for a fill, and a pedi. He started taking the old acrylic off of my nails to charge me more, there was nothing wrong with the old acrylic on my nails. After the nail tech filled my nails with acrylic, he proceeded to CUT MY NAILS DOWN WITH A NAIL CLIPPER. He left my nails thick, uneven, and he rushed through the process. At the time they did my pedi, all i got was a leg massage, no removal of dead skin on my feet which is the whole point of a pedi. The lady who did my pedi doused my nails with polish, not caring if it looked right or not. I got charged 45$ for a fill, no designs, nothing extravagant. Paid 80$ total for a crap job that was not worth 20$ DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND HARD EARNED MONEY!
