I moved to the area 5 years ago and didn't go here because of the reviews. I know it's under new management, so maybe that's why it has such a low rating? They're paying for the previous managers missteps. But man, I'm sad I snubbed it for so long. Not only is the place cute and clean, but the staff is kind, welcoming, accommodating, detail oriented and very talented. I've had my nails done by both Rosie and Holly and my nails have never looked this good! Couldn't say enough good things about my experience. I would highly recommend to anyone who asks me. Price was a bit high for a basic pedicure without calluses removed ($35). Warning, price was $5 more than the price card handed at the beginning of the service. Asked for a design and it was not even close. I had to leave because of an appointment. Contacted Elegant for options to resolve and the only option was to drive out the following day at an inconvenient time. The design on the left was what I asked for and the right is what was done. Driving 35 minutes each way the following day to fix was not worth it. It is not a 2 dollar sign establishment, should be listed as more expensive. read more

Usually nice pedicures, depending who you get of course. Although they don't use the liners on their tubs between clients, which is iffy. Just don't shave your legs before going in and it cuts chance of infection down. I don't use them for manicures, since I've tried several of their techs and haven't been impressed by their skill. When I sat down on the pedicure chair, they handed me a menu for pedicures. I showed them what I wanted and they gave me a different treatment than what I had asked for and charged me more money for it. They also charged $5 extra to take off my daughter's gel pedicure that she had previously, and she still has some gel on her toe nails. Ok, I used to come here for pedicures. A lot. And I always tipped better than the 10 dollar avg. One girl filed my skin off my big toe so hard it was bleeding (see pic of 3 days later) and proceeded to spray/rub it with alcohol after (which burns like all hell). I was super nice about it and reminded her sweetly, "it's okay, it happens, just please don't put alcohol on it, please." At the end she charged me more than I've EVER been charged for a pedi. I couldn't believe the balls. Looking back on it, I wish I hadn't been so kind. For the amount of income they lost on my patronage in the long run, they definitely would've been better off discounting the fee or even wave the fee completely! They would've lost out on nearly $100 that day but gotten it right back and then some within a couple weeks. Also. When I had the guy do my manicure/pedi once he was... I'm not gonna say creepy...but he made several comments about how great he thought my body was, asked if I had a FB, do I workout, etc. Unprofessional and awkward. When you're the only guy in a salon of women try not to hit on customers, it could make them uncomfortable with a male doing their nails and giving pedicure massages. I won't come back here but I gave 2 stars for all the rest of the times not injured, burned with alcohol, or made squirm by a male tech judging my body. read more

I had to wait a long time for my turn because it was busy, which is understandable, but when I got to the table, my person was rude. She asked if I wanted to change my color because she didn't think it would look good with my skin tone, which it ended up being a really nice color. Also, she never asked for what shape I'd like the acrylics to be that I recall, so I ended up with very big, very square nails which I didn't like. Also, she cut my fingers in many places with the drill. Overall, I won't be returning because frankly, a little bit longer drive is worth it if you don't want bad service. read more

Wow. This was literally the worst experience I have ever had and I didn't even have high expectations. I was getting mani/pedis with my friend and while they were very accommodating on short notice I wish they hadn't been! The pedicure water was ice cold even after repeated requests to make it warmer. I can't speak for this place as a nail salon, since I only went there to get my eyebrows waxed. I've heard good things about the quality of their manicures from other websites, but nothing about their waxing treatments and I would like to share my experience. The service I experienced at this salon was poor. The only other place I've ever been to for this (The Orange Salon in Millbury) treats their customers incredibly well and makes me feel very welcome and comfortable, so I had relatively high expectations. (The only reason I went to this salon was because I received a gift certificate for Christmas.) Anyways I probably exchanged three two word sentences with the worker before she ripped the excess hair off of my brows. There was no polite conversation, relaxing temple massage or anything, not to mention my eyebrows came out uneven. I didn't even get a "have a nice day". It literally took 5 minutes before they booted me out into the cold. If I didn't have money left over on my gift card, I wouldn't be going back there. read more

I've been to Elegant Nail about 5 times to get dip acrylic nails. Every time my thumb and pointer finger were chipped or broken within a week. I would go back and get them redone and days later they would break again.After going five times and being charged $45-$65 each time. I decided to invest in getting all of my own equipment to do dip nails myself. Since I've been doing them myself they have never broken or chipped once. In my opinion that is concerning. If a professional who has been doing nails for years can't apply a simple dip acrylic nail set that is a big problem. I'm not usually one to complain, but I felt ripped off. read more

Today I asked around for an affordable place to get a pedicure that would also be a decent quality. Here is what I got. The first woman who did my initial pedicure was intensely rough on my feet. I have had many pedicures before, but none that made me feel like my cuticles were bleeding. A basic pedicure should not hurt, end of story. Then, a second woman came over and asked if she could put my polish on because there was another customer asking for a pedicure. Apparently they didn't want her to wait. The woman who put my nail color on was on her phone the entire time she was painting my nails. When she was finally done she didn't even bother to turn on the uv table for drying. I paid $27 for a wasted hour. I suggest that if you want to get a good pedicure, go somewhere else. read more

This place gives a great luxury pedicure. I highly recommend spending the extra money. It's about an hour and there's a great foot and leg rub that come with it. They are also very honest and realistic about wait expectations. If they don't have time, they tell you. I appreciate that. Also, place is big and roomy, with lots of stations. Color choices are great. I don't live in the areas but I try and come here anytime I am nearby. Highly recommend. read more

I have been here 5+ times. For a wedding and to try giving it the benefit of the doubt. Nope. This place is terrible! For the wedding, we had appointments and they spread us ALL over the salon so no one could sit together, they finished people an hour ahead of others so we had to wait in the front of the store, not even able to sit with our bridal party. Second complaint i have is they are expensive. I don't mind paying a lil more but i expect a lil more. My gel manicures last 1 week. IF THAT. 2 days in, my gel had chipped. Ive never had a gel manicure chip after 2 days! Avoid this place like the plague. Its not worth your money. read more

My sister went yesterday for a fill and they cut almost every single one of her fingers. Her fingers are burning, cut, red and they're swollen. We went in today to tell them about it and they said her fingers aren't cut and that she must have sensitive skin. My sister gets her nails done every other week and this has never happened before. I decided today to get my nails done....it's been a while!!...I decided to come to elegant nails as it is close to my home. I wanted acrylic but the woman talked me into getting the dip thing cause it's more natural. That was fine and I even thanked her for it. She was finishing them up when she said that they don't look good and they are all spotted. She fixed as much as she could and it just wasn't that good. I had no cash on me and planned on tipping with my card hoping that was a thing. She told me it was 35 and do I want a receipt. I stupidly said no and signed. I left no tip due to the terrible job I got and planned on not going back. Iam now home and looked at my bank and they charged an extra 10 dollars probably cause I didn't tip. I just want to say I've learned my lesson on not getting the receipt cause I can't prove that it was 35. Beware on going to this establishment they are sneaky and they will charge more than owed!! read more

I went to this place as I desperately needed a manicure and my normal place was closed today, which was my day off this week. this place is close to home and figured id try it. the first thing I noticed was the unprofessional staff- very rude and my nail tech and another were sitting gossiping the whole time delaying my manicure. the salon also was very dirty- hair all over the floor, dust all over the lights and nail tables and just very unkept looking; it also smelt terribly of fish. one nail tech was also sitting at her station eating corn on the cob letting food fall everywhere and chewing loud and with her mouth open(food shouldn't be eaten at the nail station never mind corn on the cob). aside from the awful staff and environment, my nails sucked. they were blotchy over sanded and filed and looked so bad that I ended up going right over to a new salon down the street as soon as I left. so many better places in the area- don't waste your time or money. read more

I have been here many times for both my nails and eyebrows. The service is usually pretty quick, i'm seating within 10min even without an appointment. I usually get gel manicures and they never last the full 2 weeks, maybe a 10 days at most. Yet, they do have a large variety of colors both gel and not. One thing i'm always impressed with is how they do my eyebrows. They always turn out great and they listen to what I want. One major complaint that I do have is that some people who work there are extremely rude. Depending on who you get, you'll see. Overall, I do recommend this place! If I could I would give it zero stars. I called for an appointment because a friend had one set and she had asked me to join her. When I called and asked for the appointment and gave the service which I needed, I was told no problem - see you at 5:45. When I got there, after driving 30 minutes in rush hour traffic, the man who greeted me informed me that I didn't have an appointment. When I told him that I had called, a woman chimed In to say that the appointment was at 5pm and that I was late. This was a flat out lie since I hadn't even called until 5:06pm. Appointments are not usually scheduled for the past. The worst nail salon in Whitinsville. Every time I've gone I've had to wait 20+ mins past my appointment time only to be rushed out of the place. When you try to explain how you want your nails the lady gives you attitude and then proceeds to say something to her co-workers in her language and laughs. The guy did them so quick and effortless. None of them fit my nails they were all way too big. So when I went back to get a fill(in hopes they would fix them if I got a new person). DO NOT go here! This is by far the worst place I have ever gone! My nails look like they were done by a kindergartner. I paid $70 for a French liquid gel set - my nails are bumpy, uneven and the white is so crooked and missing completely in certain spots. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I cannot believe they let someone walk out of their salon with nails looking like this. Not to mention they left gel, Polish, etc all around my nails and on my fingers. I have had my nails done for many years. This experience stands out as one of the best I have had. As you walk into the salon you are greeted with pleasantries and hospitality. The salon, tables and soaking tubs are always clean. They take great care in making sure the manicure utensils are sterilized. Lastly and most importantly, Smiley is my manicurist. Not only is she kind, caring and patient; she is without a doubt one of the most talented manicurists I have ever had! As a designer, I love to have designs on my nails.
