My husband and I don't write reviews often but Gina and her family deserve all the praise in the world. My husband and I are big foodies and our biggest priority was having good food - Elegant Occasions exceeded our expectations in every way. My husband is extremely picky and has never liked the food at any of the weddings he has been to. With Elegant Occasions, not only do they have a vast variety of menus to choose from, but every item we tried was delicious. My husband loved the food and I, to this day, find myself craving our wedding dishes and wish to travel back in time just to enjoy the foods again. To break everything down, they served pre-ceremony fruit waters. Throughout cocktail hour, the staff passed tray appetizers which were all delicious and received so many compliments from all of our guests. We had stuffed mushrooms, a canape, shrimp, and bruschetta. We were busy taking bridal party photos so the staff coming to serve us where we were was life saving! I looked forward to the mushrooms all day long and I was so grateful to be able to eat a bunch. Again, we still receive compliments about the appetizers to this day. For the reception, we had buffet style which was beautifully set up and quite organized for 100 people. We had the chef slicing and serving tri tip and it just elevated the vibe and made it feel so much more luxurious. I can't say enough how tasty the entrees were. They also set out a fruit and vegetable assortment and self serve drink station - everyone was so well fed and there was plenty of food to go around. Truly, I wish I was a guest at our wedding. The food was so memorable. Other than the food, my personal biggest priority was being as stress free as possible. I cannot commend Gina enough for the support and guidance she gave us. We had several meetings where she helped us plan our wedding from decor to timeline and so much more. I had a day-of coordinator but I do feel that Gina was my biggest support. She has been in the business for over 35 years and has helped with over 8,000 weddings so her guidance and experience was much appreciated. She even suggested some decor changes that honestly made everything look much more seamless. About 90% of our decor was done by elegant occasions and it was just so beautiful. Gina also made sure that my husband and I were well taken care of throughout the reception. All in all, the best decision we could have made was going with Elegant Occasions for our wedding. Elegant Occasions Catering was an absolute gem to work with for our wedding! From the initial tasting to the wedding day execution, Gina, Robert, and their team exceeded our expectations every step of the way! At our tasting meeting, Gina helped us decide on the color of linens, type of silverware and plates, and the overall "flow" of how the dinner service would go down. The food they served at the tasting was absolutely delicious, and we decided to go with the "Festive Occasion" buffet menu, which included plenty of options for food, as well as full bar service. The tri tip and bistro chicken were wonderfully seasoned, the Hasselback Potatoes were some of our favorite potatoes we've ever eaten, and weeks later I'm still wanting more of the Fennel sausage & cheddar stuffed mushroom caps as well as the Parmesan crusted onion canapes that were served as appetizers. Luckily they did pack us a "to go" box with plenty of leftovers that we quickly consumed over the next few days. Hiring Gina and Elegant Occasions to do the catering for our reception last month was the best decision we made... other than choosing to marry each other, of course :) They made everything so easy without compromising on quality. From the upfront pricing, flexible menu, and inclusive buffet package, to the first phone call with Gina where she helps you figure out your timeline, decor set up, rental options, etc. These guys are a power house and the type of people you want on your team. I felt like I had a planning partner that I could trust and I knew no sh** would hit the fan on Gina's watch! On the day itself, everything went smoothly as expected. Gina's team hung bistro lights for us, set up and staffed the open bar, took care of the table linens/cutlery/glassware, and set up cocktail tables + giant connect four on the balcony. Her team was friendly and professional and took great care of us. The buffet itself was gorgeous - super colorful, and yes, elegant. Now to the food... we did "The Gala" (salmon + tri tip) but swapped in the Garden Tortellini Salad, Seasonal Grilled Veggie Display, and Strawberry Feta Salad. Everything was SO GOOD. Our guests are still talking about how good the food was, and I personally am still upset that I didn't get to eat more that day. I haven't gotten over that orange glazed salmon and I still want more! My husband's favorite was the garden tortellini which surprised him because he loves tri-tip and doesn't like pasta, but the tortellini was just that good. We also did the hot fudge sundae bar, which was a hit. One thing that stood out to me when we did our tasting and at the reception, is the food doesn't make you feel heavy / bloated afterwards. Gina and her team really delivered for our wedding! We initially booked them as they were on the preferred catering list for our initial wedding venue and I had received a good recommendation from a college friend who had also had them cater her wedding. Long story short, we had to change wedding venues, but we stuck with Elegant Occasions at our new venue! Gina was so helpful throughout the entire planning process, making sure she asked all the questions so that we wouldn't forget any detail. She was always extremely responsive and exceptionally accommodating (we had to last minute delay our tasting time due to flight delays coming in from out of state and she made it work!). All of our guests said the food was absolutely delicious and well displayed. Gina and her team made sure everything went smoothly and if there were any hiccups, I did not even know about them. She also made sure me and my husband were served first and always had anything we needed. We decided to purchase our own alcohol for the event, but Gina's team did a great job bartending for our guests as well. You can just tell that they have a ton of experience doing events like this and totally know what to expect. Elegant Occasions was our wedding caterer a few months ago and they were excellent! The food was delicious, Gina and the staff was super friendly and helpful, and it was definitely worth the price. They were a pre-approved vendor at our venue, so we contacted Gina and she was super knowledgeable about the venue and had great recommendations from food to decor to the schedule. Gina was very nice and patient with us as we had no idea what we were doing and only a vague idea of what we wanted. There was a tasting included that also confirmed we made the right choice in hiring them. On the day of the wedding, Gina and staff made sure every attendee had some of the fantastic food. They were all super charming and got along with our other vendors. After the wedding, we had people rave about various appetizers like the mushroom cap, the prosciutto and melon with mint and honey (sticks out in my mind personally) and the prime rib. While looking through their preferred vendors list it was a no brainer to go with Elegant Occasions. They had so many options to choose from and at such an affordable price. We loved the option of bringing our own alcohol and having them support with bartending. Gina helped walk us through the menu options and basically acted as our wedding coordinator when we had our final meeting together, ensuring she had everything covered. We decided to go with the Lasting Memories buffet option, adding mashed potatoes and customizing some of the different options. To say it was a big hit was an understatement. No one went hungry and people were even able to get seconds. The next day our guests were raving about the generous amount of food, the tasty prime rib and plentiful veggie display. Where do we even begin?? We were blown away by Elegant Occasions. Gina and her team catered our wedding at a church in Oakland in September 2021. All of our pre-event meetings went well, and we especially enjoyed being able to do a full tasting of each of the appetizers and meals. Gina patiently answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns one by one. She took so much stress off of our plates in the months leading up to the wedding and during the day itself and you can't put a price on that. On the day of the wedding, the food was delicious, and the presentation was supreme in every way! Gina was very attentive to our needs throughout the day, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The staff members were extremely courteous and helpful! They even brought cocktails and appetizers to us during family pictures after the ceremony. We only heard raving reviews from our guests. We could not recommend Elegant Occasions Catering enough! They were recommended to us through our original wedding venue and were delightful and helpful from the beginning. Everything was explained in detail, and we were able to sign a contract right away. They provide multiple dinner options which we picked one and we did a tasting about 6 months before our wedding. The food was amazing, and they were accommodating in changes we had and making gluten free options. They also provided linens, silverware, plates, bar service, waiters and waitresses, etc. We unfortunately had to change our venue last minute and Elegant Occasions was very accommodating and understanding. We did have to pay extra since our new venue was fully outdoors, but it was worth it. Gina was amazing and went above and beyond on our day. Our day of coordinator was a bust and did not do her job, but Gina took over and acted as a coordinator for us on top of catering. She helped with making sure our DJ knew when to announce things like our first dance, making sure we got food, and even setting out our cake and cupcakes for dessert. As far as food goes, the appetizers for the cocktail hour were delicious and everyone was raving about them. We chose the brie and fig crostini, parmesan onion crusted canape, caramelized onion artichoke and parmesan mushroom cap, and mini grilled cheese. For dinner we went with the Festive Occasion dinner and chose the roasted brandy peppercorn tri tip with chimichurri, pan Seared Mushroom Chicken Thighs, Napa cheese tortolini, frisee salad, and fresh bread and vegetables. All of the food was great and everyone keeps talking to us about how much they enjoyed it. We also opted to provide our own drinks for the wedding to save some money, but it was easy to drop everything off with them the week before the wedding and they set everything up! They had multiple people working with them and had someone working the bar and everyone was so nice and great. Overall, we couldn't recommend Elegant Occasions enough! read more

From start to finish, Gina was professional, organized, timely, and had a number of ideas on how to best manage the wedding from the food options to the decorations to the floor plan layout. She laid out the pricing and services ahead of time so there were no surprises and delivered professional-quality food that was delicious and well-enjoyed by the guests. Our original wedding venue cancelled at the last minute due to flood damage and we had to find a second wedding location just 13 days before our wedding. Gina was instrumental in helping me reach out to a number of new wedding venues and finding a new place on such short notice. She independently coordinated with the new wedding hall and seamlessly transitioned the wedding plans to the new location in a matter of a few days. I can't imagine an easier catering company to work with for a wedding, and their price was really, really impressive. Gina talks fast and whips her way through questions and decisions and all of a sudden, your wedding is half planned. She and Chef Robert are so friendly and even though they must do a hundred weddings a weekend (ok maybe not) they seem to genuinely care that your day is special and stress-free. It was a huge weight off our shoulders that Gina also works as a day-of coordinator, setting up decorations, communicating with other vendors, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. And I couldn't believe how big their staff is! When we arrived to set up at the venue, it seemed like a whole army was bustling around setting up all the tables and prepping food. And they all had the same friendliness and work ethic. When we were taking post-ceremony photos during the cocktail hour, someone swung by to ask us our drink orders and brought us a plate of appetizers. When we forgot to grab champagne glasses for the toast, someone ran off to make sure they were at our table when we sat down. When we booked our wedding at The Gardens at Heather Farm, Elegant Occasions was one of the recommended vendors and had an excellent reputation. After working with Gina and her staff, and enjoying Chef Rob's food at the tasting and our wedding, we knew why. The food: We decided on a buffet option, An Affair to Remember, which Gina let us customize a few items. The highlights included the goat cheese and fig salad with maple vinaigrette (that my groom still dreams about), the grilled apricot chicken with the perfect flavor, and the tri tip with off-the-charts delicious chimichurri. Guests raved about the food and some even went back for thirds. Major props to Chef Rob! Alcohol: We decided not to go with their all-inclusive alcohol package since our families aren't hard alcohol drinkers and instead purchased our own beer and wine, which ultimately saved us a lot of money. One feedback we had though was that the bartenders opened up so many boxes of our beer and bottles of wine for prep. By the end of the night, so many beer boxes were opened but had no beers taken out, or wine bottles that were opened but still full. We would recommend to the servers to maybe open the alcohol throughout the night and gauge how quickly everyone is drinking, then open the cases as appropriate. Other services: Gina and her staff really take care of you from the early stages to the end of the night. She was essentially our day-of coordinator and took care of setting up our welcome table, cake table, and execution of our timeline. She personally served us and made sure her staff gave everyone the utmost service. She even saved us some of the appetizers that we missed out on while taking family photos! At the end of the night, clean up was very prompt and efficient, to include boxing up our leftovers. Elegant Occasions catered my wedding on September 17, 2017. The food was AMAZING! We had Filet mignon, apricot glaze chicken, tortellini, apple harvest salad, and the grilled vegetable bar. We also had appetizers that were phenomenal. The staff made sure to walk around to each guest and ensured that everyone had plenty of food! I can't even count the number of guests that complimented the food and said it was the best food they have had at a wedding! Gina is also AMAZING! I was impressed by the food, service, and the planning that took place on the day of my friend's wedding at the gardens at heather farms in walnut creek. They even decorated the buffet tables nicely with flower arrangements that matched the color scheme of the wedding. The team was able to set up and take care of loose ends like setting up the name cards table, and planning the time of the day's events from dismissing tables, to prompting the bride and groom to their first dance, greeting tables, bouquet toss, etc. Basically, they were the caterer plus day of reception coordinators. Lunch Buffet Menu: Roquefort Caramelized Walnut Salad (Delicious) Peppered Rice Salad (Cold and hard, least favorite thing of the day) Tri Tip w/ Horseradish (Delicious, perfectly seasoned and loved it) Chicken Romano with Artichoke Hearts & Wine (Pretty Good in a creamy white sauce) Grilled Vegetables Drizzled with Warm Basil Aioli (Good, but served cold to room temp-- loved the roasted garlic!) Fresh Fruit with Strawberry Mousse (Super delicious, I had seconds!) Dinner Rolls with Butter (I really liked the plain roll, it was perfect) This was probably one of the best wedding foods I have ever eaten, but for sure the best wedding BUFFET foods I've ever eaten. We also had an open bar: fruit punch, beer assortment, chardonnay, a red wine, water. You can't go wrong with open bar! Champagne toast- the champagne was dry, not sweet at all, kinda salty, not the best. I'd stick with the apple cider. Absolutely the best! Top notch. Gina and her crew are amazing! They catered our wedding and it was perfect. Food, drinks, setup, cleanup...etc. You name it they did it. Everything tasted amazing. I have never been to a wedding where I said wow this food is amazing. However, ours was phenomenal! We did and are still receiving compliments. I highly recommend Elegant Occasions! Gina and Robert(and their whole crew) did an amazing job on our wedding! Over a year ago my wife and I began planning our dream Napa wedding(on a budget) and Elegant Occasions was recommended to us by some friends. From the very first phone call with Gina I knew I was in good hands. Elegant occasions handled all of our rentals and catering. Their pricing is very customizable and not to mention their no gratuity, no cake-cutting, and no corkage fees! The menu choices are nearly infinite. Gina shared her experiences and helped us to put together an amazing menu including hot and cold apps, salads, fruit, grilled veggies. and the best tri-tip I've ever tasted. The portions were generous and our guests would not stop complimenting us on the food! Two or three weeks before the wedding Gina and Robert met with us at our venue. Because of some site rules and regs and local ordinances(which i was not aware of ), we had to make some changes to our wedding plans which were devastating at the time. Gina immediately put out the flames and reassured me everything would still be amazing. On the day of our wedding everything came together in a way which I cannot find the words to describe. The crew set everything up in a flash and Gina kept everything running smoothly. There were a ton of little details which they handled seamlessly. I got a lot of compliments on her food, she is well organized and has everything down to a science. If there were Catering Olympics, she'd get gold every single damn time. But what reaallly set her apart for me was how she went above and beyond to make the event perfect for our guests and for my husband and I. She made sure to feed us the passed apps while we were taking pictures, kept our glasses full of whatever we needed throughout the night AND she made a little make shift bed out of tablecloths for our 3 year old son to sleep on in the room after he had fallen asleep during the reception. Gina and Elegant Occasions are the real deal. They catered my best friends wedding for which I was the maid of honor as well as the event planner. I was at the site early. Gina and her crew arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. They didn't interfere with the space we needed to prepare the fresh centerpieces. When we met with Gina at her office, I knew she was the real deal when she helped us with all the little details like hashing out the seat numbers and table chart (where all the tables would be placed in the room). She also got a feel for what my decoration plans would be as she wanted to coordinate the food tables with the centerpieces (which looked amazing!). She went above and beyond to cater to the bride and groom and me and the best man, which was so nice after spending the entire morning setting up the venue! She even helped me break down the decorations at the end of the night! I mean that's what I call service! Gina is a gracious, funny and caring lady!
