The food, service, and communication from all staff was impeccable. Food was a priority at our wedding, since Sara and I love eating almost as much as we love each other. Wilma Lott exceeded our expectations for how good catering can be. Many of the guests remarked on how well cooked the Mahi-mahi was. Sara and I found the lamb riblets to be divine, especially after our ceremony where we stood in the 100 degree sun for 30 minutes. Warning about Wilma Lott: Food Safety Issue! Wilma Lott catered my daughter's Bat Mitzvah party in May 2024. During the planning and tasting the service was great but the execution of the event was terrible & dangerous! We had an ice cream sundae bar as part of our desserts. We ordered mini m&ms to be on the sundae bar. Wilma Lott unbeknownst to us put peanut butter m&ms on the ice cream bar. We only discovered this after a friend's child with a peanut allergy became sick. When I notified Wilma Lott the following day, the owner called me and apologized saying they noticed the packaging on the m&ms was different than usual but didn't know why. ‍ They clearly didn't read the bag which at a children's event is dangerous. They are not at all detail oriented in the execution of their events, maybe because as the venue coordinator said, "they sent their C team." Not a single person from the company touched base with me at the event---nobody was in charge. The timing of the hots d'ouvres was so off that one of them was almost entirely left over. They did not put out the cupcakes at the specified dessert time. I put event logo stickers on 120 white paper sundae cups. There were leftover plain ones in the same box just in case. WL staff used the plain ones first. I'm left with 90+ cups with stickers on th with the date of our event---unusable for something else. And I put the stickers on for the added touch--time & money wasted thanks to WL.Absolutely no attention to detail! The food was also not nearly as good as it was during the tasting. I will not use them again and do not recommend them. read more

I haven't gone to any of the catering companies for meals during the pandemic, but I saw the THICK-CUT Rosemary-Apricot Pork Chop post by Wilma LottCatering in Martinez, and I had to try it! I had just picked up dinner, but I knew I could save that for lunch. The pork chop was a HUGE double cut, it was cooked perfectly, and absolutely delicious! It came with butternut squash ravioli with browned sage butter, brussel sprouts, a green salad, and some cornbread. This scrumptious meal was just $22!!! I used Wilma Lott to cater an event at my office, and Kerri was great to work with in planning my menu and helping me keep the costs down. Justin, Irini, and Romero were the on site chefs. They were friendly and worked fast. Justin in particular was great at communicating and understanding what I needed. He is so awesome and I am always happy to see him walk in with the catering crew! One example: my coworker came in when the banquet table was 1/3 set up and informed me that she needed our linens for an event tomorrow morning. I told Justin that I was concerned that the linens might get dirty during service, and he went out to the van, disassembled what was already set up, and put a table runner down to protect the linens. Everything was served on time, waters kept getting refilled, and they were fast at breaking down the buffet and packaging the leftovers. Justin showed great concern in making sure that they were doing everything they needed to dispose the trash or clean up (we have onsite janitorial services, so that was not needed). The food itself was fantastic. My favorite things were the shortbread with berries and whipped cream and the bacon wrapped dates with blue cheese. Definite must-order if you have a buffet. The caprese skewers' cheese tortellini was a bit dry but other than that I liked everything else I ordered: pecan strawberry salad, sirloin carvery station (no extra cost for carvery), butternut squash ravioli, roasted vegetables. We have contracted with Wilma Lott for a few work functions and the experience has been nothing but positive. I especially like that they are a local, family-run company who have been in business for decades. Communication during the planning process is always open and prompt. They are clear about any needs on their end, such as access to water on site. The price is quite reasonable, considering the quantity, quality, service, and attention to detail. They create a beautiful table scape, that always gets lots of compliments from our participants. At our most recent event, we were also upgraded to "real" table cloths at no cost. The fajita bar is particularly delicious, with chicken, steak, fajita veggies, and all the fixings. Everyone can load up their plate with all their favorites. Lastly, the day-of staff are reliable, friendly, and super helpful. I happened to be getting service done on my car next door and hadn't eaten lunch yet. I saw a stand for Wilma Lott Catering and walked there to check out the menu. They serve lunch and dinner for pick up only. I was able to buy a lunch there for $15. It included a Philly cheesesteak, tortellini pasta salad, some grilled veggies on the side, drink, chips and a choice of brownie or cookie. Everything is freshly made and the portions were generous. Top quality catering, patient and helpful service, and reasonable prices. They catered my daughter's bat mitzvah in October and it went off without a hitch. We received many compliments on the food, both for quality and the menu. At the tasting, almost everything we tried was on par with very good restaurant quality food. Kerri was incredibly helpful in working with us on picking a menu, and answering all our questions in the days leading up to the event. We were especially impressed that the quality of food at the actual event really held up well compared to the tasting. With other caterers, you might expect some drop off in quality with the higher volume quantities needed. But not so with Wilma Lott. They also seem to be able to make just about anything...when we asked about having some Indian food options they even researched it and created a vegetable samosa passed appetizer (this was top notch and so popular especially with our Indian guests that we ran out!) and a tofu tikka masala (we did not go with this in the final menu because we went with more Italian instead). Finally, their crew at the event was managed by Maria, who was the absolute best. She took care of the little detail items, from set up to our candy bar table, to coordinating the schedule with our DJ. She came to ask us when there was a decision or a change to be made, but she was helpful and low pressure about that. They are so easy to communicate with and they accommodate all dietary needs (we needed gluten and dairy free options). We hired Wilma Lott Catering for a mid-week, backyard wedding reception. We expected 3, but they came with a crew of 6! The team provided excellent service, great food and left ample leftovers for us to dine on for the next few days. They were a pleasure to work with and everyone enjoyed the meal! Wilma Lott catered our wedding on 11/06/16, and honestly, I could not have asked for a more positive vendor experience. We worked with Kerri from the very beginning. I took notice of her pleasant emails and quick response times, as well as the fact that their estimate was the most reasonable out of the caterers we contacted. We were very impressed by the food at our tasting, and hoped that it would taste just as good made in bulk 11 months later. On the day of our wedding, we had guests scrambling to get crab puffs during cocktail hour! We continued to receive compliments on the food all throughout the reception; everything was just as tasty as we remembered it. Honestly, they gave us a ton of leftovers afterwards (we had about 6 people who cancelled the week before) so we've been eating them for the last couple of days, and even those are delicious! The waitstaff was absolutely amazing. There is no other catering service better than these guys! They were a part of our special day on March 12 and made everything so easy. Communication with Kerri is an absolute breeze and it's so obvious that she truly enjoys her job and loves to make sure that her customers are completely satisfied. We ended up having 2 appetizers; flat bread squares with goat cheese, caramelized onions and pancetta (you will SO regret not having these at your wedding) and the veggie egg rolls, which I heard were fantastic during the cocktail hour. The main courses were the tri tip carving station which was cooked PERFECTLY, Alfredo sauce pasta, chicken Florentine and steamed veggies. Kerri allowed me to make it completely custom to the point that we were able to pick the vegetables used in the steamed veggie dish, that was so appreciated. Another amazing thing is that my husband and I weren't able to really eat the food, as we were pre-warned that the bride and groom usually never eat at their own wedding. So, I emailed Kerri and she is going to put together a little care package for us with our wedding food! I am so excited! One more thing! EVERYONE raved about the wedding food. I had at least 5 people come up to me before the night ended and informed me that it was by far the BEST wedding food they've ever had. My guests told me that they almost filled up on the appetizers and then enjoyed the filling buffet of blacken fish, BBQ chicken, buerre blanc salmon, two types of pasta as well as three salads, cornbread, and rolls. The fruit carvings were great and we had two adorable carrot bunnies. This company also arranged rentals and that went off without a hitch as well. I would use them again for another event. The price was right, we like most people were on a tight budget, but their website gave us an idea of how much it would cost. We had a wedding of about 66 guests and they had enough staff and food to feed an army. This company is worth it. We had a tasting noted what we did not like and they made the changes. I recently used Wilma Lott to cater my friend's bridal shower. I did a pick-up appetizer order, but given the level of customer service I received, you would have thought I was spending thousands of dollars there. I worked with Kerri throughout the ordering process and she could not have been kinder. She always answered my emails in a timely manner and even offered selection suggestions based on her personal knowledge of the yummy food. She is fantastic! On the day of, I sent my lovely mother to pick-up the food. Her phone died on her way there and without the address and her trusty GPS, she was having a hard time finding the location. I was starting to get nervous as I, too, had no way to get in touch with her. A wonderful gentleman (I can't remember his name!) from the office called me and I let him know my mother should hopefully be there soon. I called again to check about 15 minutes later and he answered the phone with "We found her!" It appears they were on the look out for her! Given that her phone had died and she didm't know how to make it to the location of the shower, they even provided her with directions there too. Excellent service. My wedding was about two and a half years ago, and my sister was wed in 2001 (i think!) and we both went with Wilma Lott Catering. This little business is in Martinez, kinda off the beaten path. The only draw back was trying to find the place. Everything else was fantastic! As soon as I saw their available menus, I knew this was the place. I was married in Oakland, and everything was great. We set up a Mediterranean menu, mostly Greek-inspired. It was all delicious. Things that were included: The food (obviously) Cutlery Dishes Stemware Table cloths & napkins Tables & Chairs Coffee, juices, and water (We opted to provide our own alcohol) We opted to do a buffet style meal, which was awesome. I called Wilma Lott Catering based on Yelp reviews. I needed an experienced caterer on short notice for my mother's funeral reception. It was a very sad and stressful time and I really wanted a company that would get the job done and do it well and from all the reviews I read, I knew that Wilma Lott would be the right choice. I left a voice mail on a Wednesday or Thursday and got a call back within hours from Kerri. She was so nice and I pretty much wanted everything on their appetizer menus, but she helped me narrow down to the best choices for my reception. The reception directly followed the burial of my mother so I was all kinds of emotional mess when we showed up to the hall. The room looked beautiful, the food was beautiful and it tasted amazing. Almost every guest I had commented on how good the food was and how impressed they were with the personal service. We had hot apps passed on trays and it was just fabulous. I LOVED the carmelized onion tarts, the brie with the apricot preserves and the feta, watermelon skewers. The chicken and beef skewers were amazing. We have some severe food allergies in my family and they made accommodations for all of them. My son was able to eat everything he wanted and my daughter, who is very picky, ate for almost a solid hour and loved everything. The lemon bars were fantastic, all the desserts were wonderful, but the lemon bars.... so good, they almost make you cry. It was so good to see everyone enjoying the food during a hard time.
