Overall the cake was mostly inedible. I was directed to this cake shop by the Rusty Pelican. I was looking forward to enjoying my cake-- I brought white roses to the baker. After this experience I will never add real flowers to a cake. The portion of cake that was decorated with flowers ( which was most of it)-- tasted like the flower. It was terrible aftertaste-- what a shame since the cake had potential. The bakery gave me the option to bring real flowers but I never thought this would happen. This was very unfortunate. We've done business with Elegant Temptations twice, once for our original wedding cake, and most recently when we had a replicate of the top tier made for our one year anniversary. It's true that I'm not much of a sweets person, but since our wedding I have literally had cravings for our wedding cake. Out of all my married friends, I have yet to ever hear them say that about their own wedding cake. So, hopefully that gives you an idea of the quality you'd get with ET Cakes. You would think working with weddings they would have some humanity. - It pains me that I write this 7 weeks before my wedding, without a wedding cake because Isabel lost her temper and patience. We discussed pricing and design for a large order, including my wedding cake. Every question was met with a bothersome email or tone. We agreed to have a serving size of 60+ and when it came down to signing the contract, the cake was $500+ for a 30 serving cake, that could be cut down into small pieces for a serving size of 60+. I replied and asked where the discrepancy came from, to which Isabel called me to tell me that I shouldn't be questioning her, and to go find a cake elsewhere. Not to mention I was also called names such as being a "brat" when I was cordial and patient with this frustrating experience. I would not recommend them directly or through a hotel. Can not believe they did not have the patience to have a professional and kind conversation and instead just dropped me 7 weeks before my wedding. read more

This month (Oct 2020) we hired them to make mini desserts for two small Halloween gatherings we had in our home (due to COVID each gathering was for 10 people or less and two weeks apart). We ordered mini flans, cones, chocolate shooters, tiramisu shooters, eclairs, cannolis, and strawberry cheesecake tarts- all absolutely delicious! I was blown away by not only the craftsmanship of the desserts-they are a stunning work of art- but also by the exceptional customer service by Isabel. What attention to detail! They went above and beyond; even had us send pictures of our Halloween decor to make sure the desserts matched! I wanted this to be a dream cake for my daughters fifth birthday party, instead what I received was far from the pictures they put out there and lead people to believe. The cake was such a disappointment. My daughters name looked like it was smeared on with bird poop. Don't believe me, check the picture. And when I called them out on it they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about, that they had produced and exactly what was sketched...yes they did her name looked like a sketch..and a bad one at that. When you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Since we were with a package, we were shown pictures of cakes within our package, and we quickly were able to make a selection with the cake styles they provided. This company is unorganized. They do not live up to their responsibilities. There are so many cake companies to choose from do yourself a favor and pick another. They failed to pick up their cake base the night of our brides wedding. Now they have been harassing the bride while she is on her honeymoon because they claim to have tried to get their stand which again they did not pick up the night of the wedding. But maybe the 4 people that have been at the address always having someone here are lying and the irresponsible cake company that can't pick up their own equipment is telling the truth. They had the contract through the coral gables country club and instead of opting for individual desserts we decided to have a beautiful cake. Indeed it was anything but! I Had Elegant temptations make my wedding cake a year ago, everyone thought the cake was beautiful and delicious. Fast forward a year later, we placed our top layer in the freezer, defrosted it the day before our anniversary in the refrigerator, and then brought it to room temperature and cut the cake. After reading and hearing all the comments about a year old freezer burned cake we were ready to do the ceremonious eat a bite and throw it out. Instead we were pleasantly surprised!
