Contacted the owner of this "company" about a custom cake and cookies needed in a couple weeks. She was originally responsive and said she could do and would work on some ideas. Over a couple days, we discussed quantity of people, size of cake and amount of cookies. We agreed upon a price (which was nothing to sneeze at) and she said we would touch base after Christmas as she had a lot of orders to do. At this point I still had not seen any drawings or anything specific to what my cake would look like. After the holidays I still did not hear back from her, so I reached out and sent some more specific ideas and tried to lock her down to a pick up time later that week and where to pick up. After hearing nothing back, I gave her an out on like Wed or Thur (for a pick up on Sunday) that if she couldn't do it, to please let me know so I could try to find some other backup last minute. She assured me that she had told me yes and she was doing it and she would send me sketches. I said great and asked her again for a time and address to pick up the order. Again crickets. At this point I began to think I needed a backup plan because I could see the writing on the wall and I regret not trusting my instinct sooner to get the cake I really wanted. The only positive is that she never asked for any money during this debacle. Sunday morning I text for her address and time to pick up and almost immediately, her sister (who I do not know) texts me back from a totally different number saying she is very sick with the flu or something and had to go to the hospital and couldn't complete my order. My reason for 1 star vs maybe 3 for the poor communication and hey sure people get sick, is because if you are going to leave someone hanging for a big life event and pretend you are sick and in the hospital (especially when you were given an out earlier in the week), perhaps you shouldn't post on your social media that you are partying it up at a large family gathering looking way better than anyone I've ever seen just leave the hospital. Overall don't put your trust and special event cake in her hands as you are rolling the dice whether you'll get one or not. Very unprofessional.

I'm not certain if they have different standards and cake sizes based on design that you order. In this case, it was just a simple basic cake with some trim that said Happy Birthday Mom. I will tell you that this place is not close to me so I asked if it could be delivered and THEY suggested that an Uber be called for the cake pick up and it could be dropped off to my location. Again, this is something that they suggested could be done and said that they do it all the time. Since I work less than 10 miles away I figured I could get it delivered to my job. I called this morning to let them know that I was getting ready to call the Uber to come pick up the cake and now a caveat was added stating that I had to make the Uber driver come in to pick up the cake. This was not mentioned when I ordered the cake and when they were taking my money. I feel like they need to be transparent with things that they suggest when they suggest them. If you knew that I had to send an Uber driver in to make the pickup then that should've been communicated to me when I ordered the cake. I ended up just leaving from work early to pick up the cake. I also grabbed some cupcakes and two individual slices of cake cakes as well. The experience today just left a bad taste in my mouth and I don't think I'll be ordering from them anymore.
