So I realized that it's been a long time and I really should update my review. The salon is under new ownership (they're not really "new" anymore since it's been so long since my initial review) and they are AMAZING. Tu introduced me to SNS (AKA "dip") when the salon first started offering the service about 2.5 years ago and I was instantly hooked. It's much healthier for your nails than gel polish - so much so that I don't think the salon even offers gel anymore. In fact, Lily recently told me that SNS has become so popular that the salon now does more dip services than pedicures... wow. Tu is a color wizard. He knows pretty much all of the colors by memory and he's great at creating color combinations that work well together. My favorite nail technicians are Tu, Tha, Lily, and Dan, but the honest truth is that everyone is trained well and all of the technicians are great. I also get my eyebrows done there and used to only go to Lily (she's one of the owners), until she encouraged me to try some of the other estheticians because "everyone is great" - and it's true. Most of the technicians are super friendly and I always get greeted by name when I come in and thanked when I leave. Obviously the salon is much improved since I wrote my first review I started going there several years ago when I lived in La Verne because they were less than 10 minutes from home, but I've since moved to Ontario and I gladly make the drive. I like the sns system so far for my nails. I asked for natural looking nails and my color is brownish, not natural....natural is looking like you have no polish or tips on at all. I also have at least 6 cuts/tears on my fingers and one finger got clipped with the clippers when the nail was getting shaped. When I said something, it seemed like they were getting irritated with me. I just wanted it done so I could leave. I paid and I always tip cause he had to give me a full set. (That is a lot of work). I do not think I will go back for a full, I will look for another salon. 2/24/17- was supposed to go in to talk to owner, I was a little late, he didn't show up till I was almost done getting fixed. The guy that cut my fingers argued with me and finally when I was ready to walk out after everyone in the place was staring he finally said it can get fixed. Have been coming here for years because these people do a really good job on SNS Dipping Powder, and usually see TA. The Last time I visited in September and saw Ta he was pretty annoyed at me asking about new colors for Glitter to do an Ombré set of nails. They had begun getting new colors in (before that they only had silver and gold). He was extremely annoyed with me about asking, treated me as if I were an idiot for asking about new colors and not grabbing the samples to see for myself. Really? The next time I went in about 6 weeks later I saw Annie who is very sweet and did a great job. Very pleasant experience, no issues. Today only Ta was available when I called for an appt. so I took the spot hoping he'd recovered from the bad day he seemed to have before, but that was not the case. In the last two years that Ta has been doing my nails he has ALWAYS wrapped my nails with aluminum foil, some cotton and acetone to get the old nails off. He has never asked me to soak them off in a bowl of acetone. Today he insisted that I soak them off in a bowl of acetone rather than him wrapping them. He became angry and argumentative when I explained that I am trying to limit my chemical exposure and felt that in wrapping them I would absorb less acetone. Regardless, he became nastier by the minute, said there was no difference in wrapping them or soaking them and insisted I soak them off in the bowl or next time take them off myself before I got there. He refused to put the foil on and then refused to work on me at all since I wouldn't comply...again, really? After years of putting the foil on he's gonna argue with me about putting it on now? Who is paying and who is the customer here? Is this the way you want to be treated when you visit an upscale spa, pay $50 for a nail job, and come in to relax? I don't get it. I've been coming here for years, seen Ta pretty much all the time and enjoyed having him do my nails and all of the sudden he is an overnight jerk to me. Again, I asked for nothing extraordinary, just that he wrap my nails in foil and cotton with the acetone on top of my nail rather than soaking them off in a bowl full of acetone and he went off on me. So a little background. I had a bet with my girl when we were selling our house about how much it would sell for. I lost the bet so I had to go get a pedicure with her, based on reviews we settled on this place. This place was OK. I went to have the SNS done and so far it still hasn't chipped but it's only been a few days. But honestly for $35 it was terrible service. The lady did the bare minimum on my nails, there was no basic manicure. Yeah my nails look cute but my cuticles are still messed up. I'm going somewhere else for SNS next time. Full set with gel color #201 done by Tah!! He's amazing at acrylics!! And with my old nails being taken off too it came out to $41 which isn't that bad. Only reason why I have 4 stars instead of 5 is because for me to get a FILL with the gel acrylics that I got..it's about $5 less than what I paid for the full new set. So I guess getting the gel color isn't really worth it long term..but it looks amazing and they did an amazing job. And if you're not stressing on money and you can afford to pay $35 for a gel color fill, then definitely come to this place. Tah and Romeo are the best at doing acrylic nails..and the atmosphere is really chill, zen, comfortable and laid back. I'm definitely going to keep coming here!! I've been to this place a few times and I must say that this last experience has sealed the deal for me never coming back. Let me say that i don't get any thing fancy just a straight mani pedi. I went with my mom for some girl time and we walked in at the same time. She was seated first and I was seated 20 minutes latter. They also seated a woman who came in after me before me and started on her right away. I got my pedicure and that was good but the lady asked me if she could down grade manicure to a color change as the line was building, I said yes since I had already been there over an hour. When I went to pay however I received a shock that the color change was $8, which is most peoples manicure price. In total they charged me $34!!! It was such a rip off, I wouldn't go here again or recommend this to my worst enemy. I have to mention this as well the clientele was lousy. One of the clients, who they all new by name was swearing like a sailor and loud. When ask to keep it down buy the manager because there were kids present she said she was sure it was nothing that kid had never heard before. read more

I've been going to Elegant Touch for almost a year now and I'm glad to say I found my go to nail place. I usually try out so many nail salons but this one is different in that they specialize in SNS nails. Granted I never knew anything about SNS, but now that I do and I've seen what the product does to my natural nails I can say I am officially hooked. There is no place in this area that does them the way Elegant Touch does them. I read other reviews on how long their wait is and how they have an appointment and don't get seen until an hour later, but there's a reason for this people and it's because they take their time and focus on QUALITY than quantity. I mean, you're paying almost $50 on a set of SNS that lasts you about 4 weeks while keeping your nails healthy and strong! Expect to wait! I minded at first but another customer explained to me that it's all worth it and it REALLY is. I had the owner TU do my first set and he thoroughly explained the process. He's friendly, funny and remembers his customers by their first name. That's an awesome trait. Most of their workers remember all their customers names. Now, I have DAN do my nails. He's amazing!! He's patient and pays close attention to detail and listens to what you want. He does my nails right every time! ROBERT does great pedicures but all the girls who do the pedis are good as well. 5 stars for Elegant Touch and a special shout-out to Lily! I am the world's most chronic nail biter, and especially as a boy, I was especially nervous about getting my nails done for the first time ever. Lily and the rest of staff were downright welcoming and made me feel right at home. I settled on a pink glitter black ombre SNS powder manicure with a nail tip extension in order to get the almond shape I wanted. I barely even had time to blink before Lily got to work on making my dreams a reality. She was very efficient and took the time to explain the steps as she did them and was very patient with my overeager pestering. She transformed my stubby tragedies I called nail beds into slender and dainty fingers fit for a princess. I am going on two weeks, and my nails have never felt stronger. Heck, Lily did such a seamless job that I still can't tell where the nail tip extension starts and my real nails end. Thanks to Lily I have been able to kick my lifelong habit of nail biting because my nails are just too goshdarn purdy to bite. I've been going to this place for about year and they have never let me down until now. But they let me down hard. I have never had any issues with this nail salon, but I decided to get my nails done last Friday and I made an appointment so my manicure was not rushed because they were prepared for me coming and it turned out alright, kinda thick and I had a cut on my hand from the electric machine, but nothing out of the blue. But less than a week later 2 of my nails broke, one completely off and the other cracked. I went in to get it fixed and they charged me $5, when I've always been told if I needed it fixed within a week it would be free. And not even 24 hours, the nail that just got fixed came off again and 3 more were cracked in half. I'm so upset and disappointed after I've put $45 into my nails. read more

The 2 stars are for taking a walk in promptly on a Friday and my toes looked pretty good afterward. But I will never return because the girl only massaged one leg during my pedicure. She did the left and BARELY rubbed my right foot at all while distractedly speaking to her colleague next to her. When I told her she never reapplied lotion and massaged my leg she said "yes I did. I haven't gone to another salon since Tu was recommended to me almost 5 years ago. Tu does my fills and they are always perfect, and Tha has done them a few times and they are just as good. Everyone that works here does a great pedicure as well. I get a fill, pedicure and waxing done every 2 weeks almost without fail. Lily's brow shaping and waxing is always done beautifully. In all the years I have been coming here I have never once been cut or had any issues. The salon is very clean, the pedi chairs are comfortable, the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. I try to make an appointment so I can stay on schedule but have also walked in and have always been accommodated. I love this place! read more

The owners of this salon are great but my experience today with one of their male nail techs was so shocking. He was so rude right off the bat with me so I thought maybe he was just having a bad day. Toward the end I asked him a simple question about my nails and he then began to raise his voice and yell at me stating that I don't know what I'm talking about and that this is his job and he does it all day and kept at it. I was in shock honestly! Being in the hair biz myself for 30 years I told him that this is No way to treat a client!! He didn't seem to care and kept at it. After I paid I went and spoke to the owner and let him know but he didn't offer any help or say sorry. So! I will never go back to this salon. My advise to the owners is be careful who you hire and always listen to your clients. Just need to update my review, the owners called and apologized profusely and said they fired the nail tech and that he wouldn't be back. I went here because it's right down the street from where I live. It was a little pricey, but so worth it! I got a dip manicure and a pedicure. My dip lasted me ONE MONTH! No chips, no lifting, nothing. I'm a teacher and a mom of a little one so I am constantly washing my hands or using hand sanitizer. They took their time. They have over 800 dip colors to choose from! Wow. I came in to get a gel manicure. I was told by Tu that they don't offer gel manicures only "dip" manicures. I was unsure as I've never heard of this and worried of being over charged. Not the case!Tu explained how the technique works and the price.I could not believe this whole time I knew nothing of it! He made my natural nails stronger, conditioned them and for the difference of only $10 bucks that I usually pay! I'm so picky and I've never been more satisfied in my 32 years of living!
