What a wonderful stay - I'm not even sure where to start! We were warmly greeted by smiling Jessica. She is a font of information, we learned about - tea time, wine and cheese time = both complimentary! In addition to the aforementioned, Elements Harrison offers their customers a complimentary beer or cocktail token. The gentleman running the small bar/eatery was friendly and efficient. Our room was beyond spacious. (See photos) We had city views and a view of the metro. The amenities were above and beyond. The bed was comfortable! In the morning we enjoyed the BEST Marriott breakfast we've ever had (see photos). Our shuttle driver Cindy was a pleasure. Our trip to the airport was smooth and engaging. DO NOT STAY HERE, they have roaches. Please go through trip advisor reviews thoroughly. I stayed at this hotel once before and didn't see roaches being an issue however yesterday after dropping my bags off and then returning in the night to settle in, I opened the bathroom door to roaches! I immediately went to the front desk and let them know and they insisted I move to another room. Why on earth would I do that? If that's not enough the Operations Manager, Carlos, responded to an email I sent saying they "need" to investigate the issue in order to respond on IF they will provide me my money back after not staying at the hotel. Excuse me? I read his email then called to make sure I had it correct and he confirmed they need to investigate because they "don't have roaches." LOL I'm certain he's either seen them first hand or heard other guest share this information. Regardless, I'm sure the staff opened the door and saw the roaches well before the call took place and why on earth would a customer need to wait for an investigation when they left because of that health hazard in the first place. He even asked "what time did the roaches enter the room?" which really had me floored. -- It's clear based on a review from 2021 that they are good for taking advantage of people with the unhealthy conditions of the hotel. A previous review indicates that a person pointed out the roaches and management asked the same question "where's the pictures?" And that they would launch their own investigation, just to say they didn't find anything. Take your money elsewhere. Loved every moment of my stay at the Element in Harrison. First off the staff were phenomenal. They allowed me to check into our room early after a very tiring red eye and train ride in. I was able to get some sleep while waiting for my mother to come in. Also, I was able to take advantage of the amazing breakfast! I grabbed some fresh scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, and potatoes. So delicious! They also had a plethora of breads and bagels as well as cereal and they had a cute build your own parfait bar with Chobani yogurt! Now to the rooms! My mom and I shared a two bedroom queen room. It was much larger in the photos than I thought it would be with tons of chill and wall around space. It also comes with a mini kitchen sporting a microwave, large fridge, and dishwasher. I also loved that it had silverware, plates, and cups--abd of course a wine opener! I did not get to enjoy the gym as we had two very quick, but busy days. It is well equipped though including a peloton. This hotel has everything you need and more! Love that it is just a few train ride stops to the World Trade Center and Manhattan. I will be back! read more

I've been staying at Marriott properties for over 22 years, having stayed nearly 900 nights in all, but this was my first time staying at an Element. I was very impressed with the property and it's amenities/offerings. Some of what they offer here, for free: * 2 drink tickets per night to use in their bar (for beer or wine) * Full breakfast, with a live cooking station where they'll make an amazing openface egg sandwich similar to an avocado toast * Nightly tea with three herbal teas to choose from, made fresh from leaves, not bags The food offered wasn't the typical watered down scrambled eggs, like in the lower end joints either! My check-in was ok, not the best it could have been. Some of these amenities above weren't explained to me, I asked about the breakfast later. The person checking me in said there would be an hour wait for my room, but I had gotten a text in about an hour prior advising to stop by the desk and get my key, as the room was ready. The room was nice when I got to it. Comfy and plenty of space. Desk was useable, as I used it a lot for work and conference calls. There's a kitchenette in the room too, with a full size fridge. HVAC wasn't too loud and actually worked well. Toilet flushed like it should and shower drained like it should. I mention those things because the majority of Marriott properties I've stayed in over the past couple of years are going down in quality and those things aren't always working properly. Bed was comfy and the bed linens were clean and nicely pressed. They refreshed my room after the first night, but that was it... they didn't come back after the second night - that's confusing. Parking is easy in the garage directly behind the hotel. The only inconvenience is having to get a prox card from the desk to open the gate to park and leave. You are responsible for this card and have to pay $50 if you don't return it (according to the sign at the desk). Thus, after leaving, I couldn't simply drive away, I had to find a place to park along that narrow road to go back in and turn in the card. If you have business to attend to at the office, this place is attached to the Harrison PATH station, so you literally walk outside, up the steps in the garage and you're at the train platform. It's a quick, single stop ride to the Newark Penn Station. I could get to Riverfront Plaza from here in less than 10 minutes from leaving my room. Overall - Excellent property! Great stay! Service was OK.... If it was better, I would definitely give this place the 5 stars it truly deserves! I'll definitely return! read more

Stayed overnight in the element Harrison hotel with my wife. Had a meeting at Rutgers university while my wife work remotely, staying in a king bedroom. Have stayed at Wlwment before, so I was a bit surprised at the room layout. Instead of a large kitchen and counter area this room had a small countertop with a microwave, small refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker. Right next to the bathroom sink. Functional but a little crowded even for an overnight stay. Rest of room was pretty standard, nice Regular sofa and a large TV in front of the king bed. Really small closet though with no door in about six hangers. Lobby was nice and the breakfast area and small restaurant were part of the lobby. Breakfast was exceptional and not a regular hotel breakfast. They had small quiches, a Chobani yogurt station and the other usual breakfast items. The place is also open for lunch or dinner. Next door was a five guys hamburger joint a pizza restaurant in a sushi restaurant so you didn't have to go far. There was a shuttle bus, but I think it only runs to the airport so you have to count on Uber. I like staying here, but it's a little pricey for my needs. read more

Hotel advertised shower/tub combination rooms for the 1BD Suite, but hotel has NO bathtubs in the entire hotel. Paid for parking could not exit because the card we were issued did not work, the front desk told us to work it out with the 3rd party parking office although we paid them for the nightly parking. Greg Erly the GM called me a liar about the false bathtub advertisement on their website! Greg went on to say that we didn't get our room cleaned because we had the DND sign up! A lie, of the 5 days we only asked for cleaning on our last night. Upon check-in I have a photo of the housekeeper cleaning the room due to it being un-cleaned, floors dirty, desk top dusty, the room was vacuumed and mopped and dusted. The shuttle, housekeepers & restaurant staff were all kind it appears to be Greg leads a dishonest team and front desk as they all were on a call and denied my experience. However, they failed to recognize I might just have documentation! I did! Photos, photos of their website description of the bathroom that contradict what they denied. The fact that a GM would tell a guest you should have stayed at another property with a tub, I would have refunded you to do so, I was looking to speak with you but missed you. How, when I was on property for 5 days, and my last day I had a 1:30 late check out. It took my follow up call 3 days after my visit to address my concerns! But, Greg Erly with a disrespectful tone, raised voice engaged with a guest in this manner. If a staff watches their leader engage with a guest like this, how do you think the staff will engage with the guest. If you lie on a guests experience, what won't you lie about? Stay at a property where management is honest and respect the guest. I will never stay at this property. read more

My mom was coming into town for work and I tagged along for a night. Check in was quick but they forgot to mention the free one drink a night perk- though they did give us some free water bottles. The hallways were a bit dirty and drab and hot- they could use a makeover. The suite style room was large but not much to look at outside. Room seemed fairly clean and had a huge fridge, trash can, plates, etc. The AC worked well in the room and the beds were comfy. I would love to see a separate shampoo and condition and not a 2:1- it's 2024 after all. I was really impressed with the breakfast options- so many healthy choices and the food was prepared well. The yogurt bar and the chia pudding were my favorite- decent coffee options too. They have an onsite bar with an extensive food menu in the evenings as well and they make a solid gin and tonic. The area is up and coming and there is a 5 guys and a few other restraints walking distance. Property felt safe and stay was nice. read more

This hotel is directly across from the train station that goes into NYC with its last drop at the World Trade Center Station. The hotel is very clean & comfortable. Parking is on site and easily accessible to/from hotel. Our room was very clean & the beds were so comfortable. I especially liked the shower heads + wands in the bathroom and the nespresso machine in our kitchen. The complimentary breakfast buffet was very nice. There was a large selection of items - yogurt, cereal station, breads, hot foods, coffee/tea/juices and a made to order pancake station. Everything was fresh, hot & quickly replenished by the attendant. The hotel staff was exceptional. I always say that you can tell if people truly love their work if the service they provide is outstanding and that's what I experienced here. Every person we encountered was smiling, friendly and very helpful. This hotel has a great location if you need a flexible location that easily accesses both New Jersey and Manhattan. The PATH train to Lower Manhattan is only about 20 minutes and to Midtown is about 40 minutes. The best part is that the PATH station is directly across the street from the hotel. Rooms are on the smaller side (1/2 star off), but they are fine if you are traveling alone. A covered parking lot is adjacent to the hotel and costs $21 per night. If you are staying more than a few nights, the hotel will give you a key card that allows you quick in-and-out privileges. Continental breakfast is included, but the selection is limited. There are scrambled eggs, muffins, cereal, and coffee. The items didn't look too appetizing (1/2 star off) so I never tried them during my stay. That's okay, I never select a hotel based on its breakfast. read more

Easy place to find not far off the interstate. Front desk service was wonderful. Everyone was super polite and helpful. The room was clean and stocked. The room looks like it could use some updating as there were some light switches that did not function. There was an outlet that had a broken prong from some appliance still in it so it wasn't usable. On Friday night when we arrived there was live music playing downstairs out front that went on until around 10pm. This is an interesting property in an interesting part of New Jersey. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted but our check-in process hit a snag. Every credit card in our group was declined including several debit cards. The processing machine was reset, and it did not change or help the issue. We tried another machine as well as entering the credit card numbers manually but that did not work as well. Alyssa was as bewildered as we were, but our room keys could not be given out since we could not check-in. Alyssa contacted her boss Carlos who attempted to call the processing company to do something on their end. We tried another terminal, and the issue was not resolved. We attempted to use gold bullion and cash any of my stash of Funko Pops and trading cards but just as I was handing over an autographed Aaron Judge baseball card, the terminal accepted the credit card and we received our room keys, I greedily took back my trading card and stored it safely in my pack. There's quite a lot of working and lounge space on the ground floor. The dining area offers the typical breakfast space and a bar lounge area just past that. On the way to the elevators is another open space with plenty of couches and windows for people-watching. NOTE: You'll need your room key in order to access any of the floors which gaining popularity in many properties due to security reasons. My room was on the fourth floor and when I opened my door, I was surprised to see a refrigerator, dishwashing machine, sink, functional countertop, sofa area, and bed. My view looks upon the train station and, in the distance, I could see the New York Skyline. There's a set of dishes, cutlery, and anything anyone would need for an extended stay. Our group was just staying one night, I'm not sure what the rationale was for picking an extended stay location for one night, but I was not in charge of the booking on this business trip. It's one of the larger hotel rooms I have stayed in that may be even considered a mini-suite. The shower and bathroom were modern, and everything was functional. The next morning, I was greeted by several housekeepers as I passed by and downstairs in the kitchen area there was some activity for free breakfast. While I did not partake in the egg frittatas, they looked delicious and handmade versus the packaged variety that is just heated up via a microwave. There are cereal, toast, bagels, and muffins to have and to toast and there's a yogurt bar to customize your yogurt. As for juices several were available as there were three different coffee decanters and a Nespresso Machine I sliced and heated a bagel and then grabbed a banana before heading out and visiting a local café. When I did return, I made a two-shot Nespresso with Oat Milk. I was happy to see that Oat Milk was available as an alternative milk option. Thanks! All in all, the Element at Harrison is ideal for extended stays as it has the train station located within a two-minute walk and there are some restaurants close by like the Vanguard, Five Guys, and Taco Asian Fusion restaurant. It's trendy and has a vibe just make sure you bring something to barter with if the credit card machines are not working. read more

I stayed at the Element for one night - I checked in late on a Monday and checked out before 9 am the next day. While having dinner with a friend in my studio room, a cockroach climbed across the window shade. I freaked out and killed it, and went downstairs to calmly ask for a partial refund. I told the folks at the night desk, repeatedly, that I knew this wasn't their fault and that I didn't need another room, I just wanted a partial refund. They moved me anyway, to what I now know is a more expensive room, and told me to talk to the morning staff ASAP and the supervisor could help me with the partial refund. The next morning I arrived at the front desk at 7 am to talk to the supervisor - her name is MaryAnn Cordine. I told her what had happened the night before, and that I had been advised to let her know what happened. I even sent the attached photo to the front desk to verify (if you've stayed there you will recognize the shade IMMEDIATELY). MC proceeded to tell me that not only was there nothing she could do, but that the team had upgraded me overnight and I now had "a much more expensive room" anyway. I told her I asked repeatedly for a refund, not an upgrade, and was moved. She told me repeatedly (almost without taking a breath) that there was nothing, nothing nothing she could do. 15 minutes later she calls up to my room and asks for an email with proof of the roach. I emailed it. I also told her exactly where the roach was (I killed it on the windowsill and it had fallen directly behind the couch). This is the response I received: "I have given your concerns and issue to my management team about your stay. The Management has inspected the whole room and did not find anything in the room. The hotel did move your room and upgraded it at the time of it being brought to our attention. We do appreciate you bringing the issue and concern to us and for the inconvenience we will refund $50 from your room rate for last night. Hot apple cider in the lobby. Booked a 7th Floor king corner with added pullout couch. Kitchen had everything, dishes, dishwasher, microwave, full fridge and coffeemaker. 2 min walk to train if you wanna goto NYC. Had a pool and Gym which I didn't use. Everything was clean and quiet. Staff friendly. Breakfast in the lobby had everything no issue. The small bar restaurant was awesome. They have happy hour and kitchen stays open until late evening. I'm so glad that I picked the Element for our overnight stay prior to our cruise. It deserves more than 5 stars. Our room had a kitchenette which we really didn't need for our short stay. It also included a rather large couch that probably made the room look rather small. The view of our room was the Pathway station. Our bed was very comfortable; the pillows were probably a little too soft for my standards. The shower was very big and had a modern decor. Now, as to their continental breakfast... wow. 5 separate stations consisting of Kimchi bar, bread/frittatas bar, yogurt bar, cereal bar, and taco egg white bar. Rose making our taco egg white omelet was an absolute delight. She made my egg white omelet the way I like it. The yogurt bar had probably the biggest blue berries I've ever seen. The hotel's staff were extremely professional, efficient and courteous. It started with my shuttle request. The couple times I had called, I ALWAYS ended up talking to Sean. What a sweetheart! Bubbly, friendly personality answering all my questions and concerns. Our shuttle driver Vic was also very nice and informative with suggestions of restaurants and stores to obtain the wine for our cruise. Rose, at the taco station was also a delight! This hotel is conveniently located near the Path station - easy access to head over to New York. It might not be the closest hotel to Bayonne, NJ/Cape Liberty Port, but directly worth the distance! I so much enjoyed my stay here! The staff were friendly, helpful, and very professional. The lobby decor was exceptionally welcoming, with a generous breakfast area and a living-room style seating area with a large-screen TV. The lobby offered a complimentary reception every evening. The location is quiet and the hotel is pet-friendly. The room was lovely and offered a full-sized fridge and dishwasher plus a small stove and sink. The beds were very comfy; sleeping well is a great part of any getaway. Breakfast in the morning was amazing, and had gluten-free offerings for those who need them. I couldn't warn travelers more vigorously to skip past this converted Days Inn. The rooms are small and cramped and the hotel is a 24/7 drunk fest. The security allows anyone to wander in and out. There are absolutely no amenities that add value to staying here. In fact, they charge you more to park than the parking lot next door while lying outright that you are saving if you pay through them. It's $20 through the garage. They charge you $21 a day and sometimes, if you're lucky like me, they'll charge you $42. I left Westin a review when I checked out . TBF, I had already alerted them to my dissatisfaction 2 days into my unfortunate 7 day stay. After I checked out, their highly professional manager sent me this. From CHRISTINA SCOPPETTA, Assistant General Manager, "We pride ourselves on customer service and feel we tried to accomplish that with you and your mother however you declined any type of upgrade. I will be reporting this review to Marriott and also to Yelp as these are extreme false claims and we have a Zero tolerance for that." I wasn't traveling with my Mother who died 4 years ago Christina. I also didn't put a review on YELP until you mentioned it but thanks for the threat of silencing me because you can't even keep ALL your complaints separate. This is the exact reason you should stay literally anywhere else. Christina ends her threat with saying she won't reimburse anything to me. That's ok, I didn't ask to be reimbursed a dime...even through they double charged me on parking and allowed intoxicated partiers who probably weren't even guests to roam the halls at night, screaming and pounding on people's doors. The absolute truth is this is a millennial party hotel with nothing to offer than a bar and a lumpy bed. If you have an issue? Christina will happily reply with a threatening letter. Modern, average priced and convenient hotel that's perfect for people who are flying in/out of Newark Airport and are attending events at the Prudential Center or Red Bull Arena. It's roughly 25 minutes plus to get from Harrison to WTC during normal hours. The PATH train does run a little slower during off-peak hours and weekends. The hotel is right by the station so it can get a little loud but I think they provide sleeping ear plugs and I've never had an issue. It's easy to take the PATH train from the airport to the hotel. I like to use the complimentary shuttle service when I fly out of Newark, but you need to make reservations in advance. The area is fairly safe with lots of new developments being built. Complimentary breakfast with a good assortment to fit most people's dietary needs and they do like to change it up, so you don't eat the same thing back to back. I usually book a room with a kitchen so I can make use of the full size fridge. The "spa" water was pretty good. They have a restaurant and sundries shop inside, too. Lots of seating in lobby and computer area. The rooms are spacious. I don't really care for the scent of their bath products, but it does the job. Overall, I love the apartment feel and the convenient location. I don't recommend it for first time NYC visitors just because it's better to be in the heart of Manhattan. the hotel is nice but the bad thing is the poor maintenance they give it, the folder in the corridors is dirty. The bathroom in the room they gave me smelled like pi and the walls were dirty, the shower was super dirty as it was half cleaned, it's a shame because I repeat the hotel is not ugly, and to get around I couldn't sleep much because all the clarity entered the room as the bed was facing the window and the curtain could not be lowered. In the moments that we are going through with COVID I think the least they should do is clean super well and disinfect everything. read more

Family friend stayed here while visiting us. They advertise that they have a saltwater pool but that has been shut down for over two years according to the concierge. The staff was not very nice, they weren't helpful, in fact they were kind of rude. I wouldn't recommend if you have family coming in except that there aren't many other options nearby. It might be that they're rude because there aren't many options for Harrison. You have no where else to go if you want to be at the foot of the Path train into NYC or Newark. Most annoying is that sometimes they're washing cars right in front of the lobby. Like you're sitting outside in front of the bar/restaurant and they're washing the hotel cars spraying water all over. Never saw that before, why don't you take the cars to the car wash? They extend power cords and water hoses through the lobby, to wash the cars right out front. It is soooo crass. read more

I originally chose Element Harrison for its location - we like easy access to NYC but also the NJ Turnpike. I was not disappointed and have since returned for additional stays. The rooms we've had have been comfortable and well appointed. The building is directly across from the PATH train station but well insulated for sound. The parking garage is easily accessed from the lobby. There is a bar/restaurant attached and a few others within walking distance. The lobby is comfortable and welcoming. Complementary breakfast is always crowded but that's the case no matter where you stay. Here they do a good job keeping it stocked and clean. It's difficult finding a decently priced modern hotel near NYC, but the Element Harrison-Newark is great for a number of reasons. The element brand is always one of my favorite hotel brands due to the great amenities they offer, relatively modern look, and spacious rooms / facilities. This hotel is located right next to the train station so there's a decent amount of foot traffic. It's about 15 min from the airport so not very close - and you will have to pay for parking so consider that. However, there are a number of great restaurants nearby (highly recommend the korean fried chicken wings from the korean / mexican fusion restaurant nearby). It's also fairly quiet a night which is a plus. I was able to use mobile check-in and SPG keyless which was good, though I didn't get an upgraded room (dock 1 star for that). Also, when I asked to extend my stay one night, they wouldn't offer it to me in the same room I was in even though there was plenty of availability of the night of the 4th. Otherwise the staff were friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable with the typical Westin shower, pharmacopia products, and in-room water filter and others for an extended stay. bed was comfortable - though pillows were a bit small. Wifi did the job, and there was plenty of power outlets right next to the bed which was great and convenient. The gym was small but usable with machines in good working order. There was an outdoor balcony which had a nice grill and plenty of seating - can see it easily being a bit hit. The breakfast in the morning was my favorite due to the chobani yogurt bar - never had yogurt quite so good as the toppings and honey I put on mine. read more

This hotel is awesome! First of all, I love that this hotel is "in the cut". In the midst of all of the hustle and bustle there's a little bit of peace. I stayed at the Element because, I was in town for an event and it was the perfect choice for me. When I arrived I was greeted and checked in by Steven. Super nice! Sean also helped me get back into my room after leaving my jacket in the room after checking out! I was very pleased with my stay. The rooms were huge and spacious, the beds were comfy, and I loved the shampoo and conditioner. I never use the shampoos and conditioners at hotels but the Element has "Pharmacopeia" products and they smell divine. My room had a full kitchen! The lobby was also dope! I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. I highly recommend it, and I will return if I'm ever in the area in the future! read more

Ok hands down the best way to do NYC. We wanted to go to New York but the hotels are crazy expensive. This was perfect! I'm not a big fan of Newark so I was a little worried but Element was awesome. I basically just had to go across the parking lot of the hotel and right in to the PATH station. A couple of bucks and less than 30 minutes later and we were in the city. Can't beat it! As for the actual hotel, it's absolutely gorgeous! Modern, clean and great amenities. They have a big open breakfast area and a little spot of buy snacks and easy to fix foods (pasta, etc). Our room had a full kitchen with dishwasher so we were able to grab some groceries at the Whole Foods near the PATH station on the NY side and cook healthy inexpensive meals in the hotel. My only gripe is that the best way to get from the Newark airport is taxi and it's crazy expensive. Otherwise the location and hotel itself are great. Ps: I got all that awesome for $140 a night. One Thursday night stay. Waited hour and a half for airport shuttle. Assumed there would be a hotel restaurant, but just a bar. I did make it 1/2 before the complimentary happy hour ended at 6:30p for one adult beverage per guest. Not sure how having a full kitchenette is useful with no groceries around to purchase. Newer and modern hotel was nicely decorated and clean. As others reported, don't plan on sleeping to much. Trains and construction noises are not muffled by glass outside walls. read more

High expectations when coming to this hotel based on other reviewers... The front desk person who greeted me seemed like she was having a bad day. Not warm and friendly as you think she should be...but cold, and it felt like she was doing me a favor? Luckily, that was the only bad experience... Room was large (for nyc standards) and clean...it had a fridge and full kitchen to use. The bathroom was beautiful. Ear plugs for noise.. please don't complain about this...you picked a hotel beside train tracks, what do you expect? The parking garage was right beside the hotel, with a short cut to get in. You need to get a parking pass so that you can have in and out privileges and on your departing day, there's a drop box for your pass. I couldn't find the designated parking spots for hotel guests but it's a large multilevel covered spot. On my way up...one of the security guards was dropping off a pair of slippers for a guest (that's service). BTW. ..he was friendlier than that front desk staff. Breakfast the next day was nice....bread, cereal, sausage, eggs and waffles...your standard fare. I think it starts at 7am to 10am on weekends and 6:30 am on weekdays. Check out was uneventful. Trip to Manhattan was easy. ...there is a PATH station close but be careful. One is going towards Newark Penn Station and the other is to the World Trade Centre. On the weekend they might close one of the trains so check otherwise you'll have to pay twice going the wrong direction. read more

My wife and I are fans of Element Hotels as we have stayed in two other locations prior to this one. Love the decor, the walk in showers with the rainfall shower head, the small kitchen set up in the rooms and the free breakfast in the morning. This location did not disappoint. When we walked in our room it was impeccable. The King size bed was fluffy and comfortable. The bathroom was neat and super clean. I love that it feels like a tiny studio apartment. The indoor Saline Pool looked great. Unfortunately, we arrived late in the night right before it closed and we didn't have bathing suits anyway. We love the Restore convenience store in the lobby. So convenient to just grab midnight snack. When we arrived we were checked in right away by a friendly member of the staff. We had parked in the self park garage next door and were promptly asked for our parking ticket in order to get validated for the hotel parking rate of $14 with unlimited in and out privileges. Regular overnight parking is $28. Our only issue the fact that you can here the trains when the honk their horns as it seems the windows are not sound proof. But it wasn't all night. Maybe once or twice for a few seconds. Loved the Keurig station in the lobby. It was great to grab a cup to go at checkout. Nice hotel option for the downtown Newark-Harrison area. read more

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. It's very clean, modern, and well managed. Stayed here for work and explored NYC in my free time, the location is great with the PATH station right around the corner. Brie, the receptionist, is absolutely fantastic. She let us check in early (a huge bonus since we flew in from the West Coast) and the room was comfortable, with a kitchen and a spacious bathroom. The area is rather industrial but the view was pretty okay, and everything worked well (shower water pressure, huge fridge and closet). Complimentary breakfast included, which was convenient. Will stay here again, and recommend wholeheartedly. read more

This place is great! I needed a place to stay to attend a conference in New Jersey and found this hotel. Great price and I was not expecting much considering this is New Jersey. When I arrived to this hotel, I found a very clean, upbeat, nice design hotel. Check in process was easy. Arrived to the room to be pleasantly surprised. The bathroom is modern with nice white tile and glass door shower, and a large bright vanity. The room comes with a mini kitchen which was nice. Breakfast bar in the morning was also really great. I highly recommend this place! read more

I've been here a week and have a few more weeks to go as I'm here for work. The front desk staff is incompetent and rude. The short woman alway says "I have no explanation for that" whenever there Is an issue. I had to speak with a manager earlier about a rude ass front desk clerk and a housekeeping issues. The rooms are subpar. I wouldn't recommend this place and I hope production finds me something else. read more

I have stayed at other Elements overseas so I was excited to try this one. That hope was short lived. Called the hotel when we landed. Asked the lady at the front desk where to meet shuttle. She said all shuttles picked up at P4. When I asked her where that was she said she didn't know. I would have really thought she would have said let me ask someone else but that didn't happen. Not a big deal. We called once we got to P4 (take the Air Train btw) and we were told the shuttle was on its way. We already knew from checking prior to our trip that the shuttle was reported to run every 30 mins. 45 mins later the shuttle van showed up. No explanation no apology nothing. It was a very quiet ride to the hotel which took all of 10 mins. So why the 45 min wait? When we arrived at the hotel the shuttle driver didn't even bother to get our bags out of the back. He did however carefully get his take out food and get it safely inside. Ok we all have bad days so maybe this was his. Both my traveling partner and I are frequent SPG Hotel stayers. Not once did the front desk clerk greet us. No pleasantries or anything..! The clerk actually never even spoke a word to me. In the end I would say the hotel is everything the Element is supposed to be. Very nice, clean and new. The location couldn't be better. Plenty of parking and public transportation close by. The human factor here could certain use some serious work. People who have been traveling all day and dealing with everything that comes with that don't deserve to be treated like we were. With SO many other choices close by I'm not sure I would do this again. As a side note I would like to add that the day crew was a completely different story. Everyone was VERY pleasant and outgoing. From the front desk crew to the lady working the breakfast area and even the shuttle driver. Maybe I caught the night crew on a bad day. The people this morning are more like the other Element employees I have encountered around the world. read more
