Unprofessional and horrible. I went there a few days ago for a deep tissue massage for the first time. The therapist had air pods in and I could hear her alternative rock rather than the relaxing music. I had a massage with Kathy who used hot salt stones that made me feel brand new. One hour and $79 later with my membership I am ready for Thanksgiving with my family. HORRIBLE! I would highly discourage anyone from purchasing a gift, being a member and/or getting services at this location. The massage therapists are not the issue, the owner, manager and employees at the front desk are! After being a "member" of the Bannockburn location for years, I found it frustrating when I was informed that certain therapists would be charging $10 more than others for the same exact treatment (due to their experience, which I imagine the owner knew about a year prior when all therapists were the same rate)! Yet, I wouldn't bother w a review for that. The main PROBLEM with this location, is I had to cancel the day of an appointment. I contacted them, informing them that I hadCOVID and would be unable to make my appointment. I was then informed that would be considered a late cancellation, and I would be charged. I was in utter disbelief and asked if they would want me to come in and infect other their employees/guests? It was just repeated that I would be charged for the session. Disgusting! I informed whoever was answering the phones that I would be canceling my membership as soon as possible! I'm aware of the policies at this establishment. I work F/T and I too have a late cancellation policy in place. However, when I had a client contact me in the peak of the COVID pandemic and inform me they had to cancel b/c they had just tested positive for the disease, I responded, "I'm so sorry that you have COVID. Of course I understand the cancellation. I hope that you have a speedy recovery and we'll talk when you're feeling healthy." If the management/owners of the Bannockburn location are okay to have an infected sick client come in rather than not charge them (for a service they've already paid for, being a member!), it's hard not wonder what, if any policy is in place for employees when they're sick!? If I could rate 0 stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I made an appointment a couple weeks ago for 5:00 pm. I got there at 4:50, as they asked me to be there 10 minutes before my appointment. I filled out the forms and the women at the front desk said the massage therapist would be with me shortly. 5:15 came around and nothing.. I was still waiting. Then 5:25 came around and I was still waiting! So I went to the front desk and asked to confirm my appointment time at 5:00...(which by the way I had received 1 phone call and TWO texts prior confirming my 5 pm time -- see photo). When I asked they said no, your appointment is at 5:30. I was appalled, they looked into this for me. And they found out that someone changed my appointment the day before WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME!! I am a full time student with a very tight schedule, my time was wasted. (and they didn't even offer a discount!) Second, I looked at my debit card transactions the next day and saw they charged me for my appointment and an EXTRA $69!! I called and asked about this immediately. They said they charged me a whole month early for my membership and told me they would refund me right away which was great.. except, now being 2 weeks later, I never got the refund!!!! I had to call back today and ask again and I will also be cancelling my membership I haven't even used because this place is so horrible. This is defiantly a place for me that falls between a 3 and a 4 star review but my second visit was better then my first so 4 stars it is. Oh and a 3-pack groupon at reduced pricing. SCORE! The location is tucked away in Bannockburn Green (next to Heinen's) and easy to miss but the space is nice, clean and what you would expect. My first visit was not bad but the massage was average and the light wasn't dimmed during it and I found the bed linens abrasive. The second time I went , I changed masseurs and my experience was much better. Lights were dimmed, linens seemed less scratchy and the masseur I used really listened and worked on the trouble areas I mentioned. They really had a great understanding of the body, stretching and working muscle groups to get them to relax. The front desk service my second experience was also upgraded. I phoned to make an appointment and they were very helpful at recommending a masseur that would work for my needs and very nice and pleasant. I believe that same person was working during my appointment and gave equally good service. Lastly both times I have called to schedule an appointment they have had lots of availability. They also have online reservations and emailing confirmations and reminders which is a great touch. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. My wife received a gift certificate for a prenatal massage so she called a month ahead of time to schedule her appointment. The staff scheduled the massage and took the gift certificate. She walked in today and was told it could not be used at that location and now my wife will likely not be able to get her massage before we have our child. Complete negligence by this company that created a terrible experience. Aft Suzanne - We understand now that they are independently owned but when my wife received it as a gift, the family member that gave it to her was told by staff that it could be used at any location. When my wife booked it(one week ahead of time(I originally thought it was a month) your team took the gift card information and scheduled the appointment. It may be a good idea to have your staff ask what location is listed on the back of the card to avoid this situation when booking. This was not a same day appointment, so your staff blatantly lied to you. It was scheduled as a prenatal massage, something that you have to schedule out to ensure you have a prenatal certified masseuse. My wife has a voicemail from two days before the scheduled appointment confirming that she is still able to make it. The steep discount you speak of was an 'introductory' offer. We have been in contact with the Vernon Hills location(manager was very nice and apologetic) and unfortunately won't be able to get a prenatal massage before we have our child. read more

Not good in returning back calls for a customer member who wants to make an appointment

I am dealing with $600 in fraudulent credit card charges from the bannockburn location. After I initially noticed the charges it took several calls before "convincing" the manager to refund me, I brushed it off as a mistake. After the second time I noticed them continuing to charge me without my permission I became irritated. Now I have just realized they are STILL charging me, and I suspect no matter how many calls i make nor how many times I demand that they return my money, these charges will continue. Perhaps YOU are being overcharged by them as well. If you've ever given them your cc#, BEWARE and diligently check your account each month. I dont think this is an honest mistake anymore. Still waiting for $200 to be refunded for this latest go-around. Upon researching this company on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau, I see that I'm not the only customer being scammed by these folks. read more

She has worked out seriously tight areas with the perfect amount of strength, without leaving me sore. It's therapeutic, yet so relaxing I'm like jello afterwards. I would give 5 stars but am giving only 1 star due to experience I just had with the manager Aurora. Customer service is lacking and she is very rude. There was a mixup on my account being charged as I was based out of a different elements location. When I first went to Bannockburn i setup all my information including that I was on a family account at another facility. Actually because of that is why they had me fill out all my information. I went for an appointment and was charged instead of them taking from the 8 massages sitting in account. I called and they said they would look into it. Nothing - didn't hear back so I called again. Get told account wasn't linked so she would link it and would get with manager to resolve the incorrect charge. Few days go by and again I have to call. Told would follow up with manager and have her call me. Nothing...again. I call today and front desk is saying they can't give a refund can't do anything to fix the mistake. I asked what happened to the manager calling I never heard anything. So I get connected to Aurora who gets on phone like she isn't aware of what's happened. She only will say there's nothing we can do. It's the other facilities problem. She talked over me while I attempted to discuss the situation. She hung up on me while I was talking. As I now see from other reviews Aurora is rude and not good with customer service. I had to chase her down. There was no I'm really sorry this happened let me see what I can do for you. It was simply it's their problem and I won't refund the charge. Oh and it comes out I was lied to. I don't typically write reviews but I have been in customer service for years and it's frustrating to see this kind of treatment to a customer. She offered no help or solution just not her problem. So our conversation yesterday was NOT two days after the event. When we became aware of the charge I called on Monday 11/11. I was told the manager would be told of the situation and get back to me. I heard nothing and called back on Wednesday 11/13. I was told they didn't know why the manager hadn't gotten back to me. They would again get with the manager. I was also told they would go ahead and link my account at their location to my home location while we were on the phone. I did have a massage on this past Sunday 11/17 and the front desk took care of calling my home location and applying prepaid massages for that days massage. I still had heard nothing back from the manager so I called yesterday Tuesday 11/19 a week later from my original call not 2 days as you responded. That call is what prompted my review and referenced in the review. Aurora was rude. There was no apology for not getting back to me. There was no offer of helping get this resolved. I get the best massages from Elizabeth! She is very attentive, the pressure level (medium) is perfect for me, but she still checks in to see if I want it lighter or deeper. She uses very long strokes, and it's very very relaxing. I exercise a lot and her massages really help loosen up my muscles. She always asks if there are any specific areas that need extra attention. I came here because a physical therapist suggested clinical massage for my rotator cuff tendonitis. The first session with Sofia was agony, but in a good way, and each session saw improvement. Now after 5 weekly sessions, plus physical therapy exercises, I have full motion back, and almost no pain, in my shoulder. A few more sessions and I hope to be over this problem all together. I scheduled a massage here, and two days before they called to reschedule to the need of the therapist. No big deal. I stop in one day to reschedule and chat about the membership (I've been a member with elements for five years) and my home studio is in Colorado. They told me as long as the membership was broken up at my home studio they could use a 30 minute session attached to each 60 minute session for a 90 minute massage. The day of my rescheduled appointment they called to inform me that they had changed their mind and they would only use my membership for the 60 minute session and I needed my credit card for the additional 30 minutes. I've been a member for five years and I've traveled to multiple different studios, all were able to utilize my membership to include a 90 minute session. First off, the massages have been amazing, and for the price even better. I don't have one complaint about the massage therapists, they have all been wonderful on all levels. My low review is because I signed up as a member, but with Covid canceled that membership in August '20 .. and today, March 3rd 2021 I am still dealing with trying to get this membership canceled, despite having the documentation and the staff confirming the cancel. I keep getting charged each month (Jan, Feb ..), then I follow up asking for the credit, although they acknowledge the mistake, it takes several follow up's to get it actually credited. I was assured this was all taken care of, and boom - another charge on March 1st. I read responses from the owner and from my experience, I do not find her credible or to care about anything other than making money. I truly empathize with these businesses suffering through COVID, but the customers also are coping with their own stresses. We signed up in December 2019 as a holiday gift and found the therapists excellent. When COVID hit, we called to cancel on April 1st and decided to not contest the charge for that month and froze the membership. We were not told it would automatically renew in 6 months and when a charge appeared, we called and were told a manager would call back. We followed up 2 other times and never heard back. Meanwhile, we have now been charged 3 extra months. Hopefully protesting to the credit card company will have charges removed, but this is unconscionable and this business should be avoided. read more

When I returned to Elements after a 1 1/2 year pandemic hiatus, there was no one in the reception area. When an employee fiinally came in, she didn't take my temperature or inquire about my health. The therapy rooms are small and windowless. The therapist (who gave me quite a competent massage) suggested I remove my mask for ease of breathing (I didn't) and when I asked her if she was vaccinated she said "absolutely not," citing allergies to ingredients in the vaccine. When I inquired about why I was not told this in advance, the receptionist merely said that the state did not require it and that if we wanted to know which therapists were vaccinated, we could ask. This lack of attention to the health of both clients and employees is a deal breaker for me. I have gone here several times and never got a bad therapist! On my last visit a mistake was made. I was booked for 60 minutes instead of the 90 minutes requested. I was not a happy camper after driving an hour to get there. One of the girls was not helpful at all. The other one tried to make things right by assuring me the manager would call me. The manager did call me! She was wonderful and made everything right in the world again! Darius gives fantastic deep tissue massage!
