Hello, I can't tell you how many enjoyable times I've visited Jia Foot Spa over the last 3 years. Every time is complete "Bliss" when I leave! I have had alot of Massages in my life. I'm talking about in room Ritz Carlton and many other fine Hotels. Even massages on the Beach when I used to live in Costa Rica. I've travelled alot in my life and... Never have I had a massage with anything but Hands. Recently, I visited and met Anna. 1st day I went and got the 60 minute Foot, Hand (Reflexology) and whole body massage. She was Awesome! 2nd visit with Anna and she was surfing on my back with her feet. One foot on the base of my back for stability (I guess that's what it was for since I'm a surfer) and one foot (toes) going deep into my upper back and shoulders. And that was just the beginning of 60 minutes of "AWESOMENESS!" I give Anna & Jia Spa a 10 Stars! I was burned by a "heating pad" that was put on my back during my last massage. It was a 3rd degree burn that has still not healed after 5 plus weeks. The owner of the place has hung up on me multiple times and even cussed me out as I was trying to politely explain why I have not been in since the incident. We just got back in town last night and he screamed at me and told me to call my attorney as he is not responsible for my back. Sadly my wife and I used to frequent this establishment often and except for communication issues were satisfied with the service. Now I have no choice but to post this review in hopes that it can save some other unexpecting patron from being burned by a careless employee trying to make an extra $5 on the massage. Terrible service, no communication and so dirty. Not sure how this place is in business. They had me waiting 30 mins for a scheduled appointment and kept saying, "5 more minutes." Then they brought me back to a bed that didn't even have a sheet on it, just this weird gauze-type material and a nasty pillow with stains. Then the water bucket dirt floating around in it. Then the girl who was supposed to work on me disappears for another 10 mins. Needless to say, I walked out. While there, i witnessed three people trying to tell their masseuses what they wanted for their massage and not one of them could communicate with their customer. One lady even made a joke, "you get what you pay for." and another lady said she paid for the cupping and hot stone massage, and didn't even receive any hot stones. My first time ever getting a massage and it was definitely worth it. $29 for an entire body massage for an hour is an absolute steal. Call in prior for an appointment just to make sure you have a spot (only have 8 beds) and wear loose clothing like a wide neck shirt and roll-able pants since they massage your neck, back, and legs. I also think it is best to not have make-up on your face and to keep your hair loose since they start with a deep head/face massage. Probably the main difference about this place compared to other massage parlors is that all 8 massage beds are in one big room and you do not have to take off any clothes. Everyone who is there is getting massaged at the same time, but no one really can tell because they cover your eyes with a towel and you are so relaxed you can pretty much fall asleep. They also have punch cards (buy 10 massages, get the 11th free) so ask for those! I think they accept credit cards, but I would bring cash just in case (especially for the tip). As a lifelong athlete, I've had hundreds of massages. This was the worst. I like some good pressure, but this was incredibly painful. Several times I asked the masseuse to go softer. Not only did he fail to comply, he giggled every time! I squirmed in pain, but he kept digging his elbow into my back and neck while holding my hand behind my back. He moaned a few times too! It took 3 days for my back to recover. 5 days for my neck. I just found out one of my friends had the same experience with a woman there too! If you show up 15 min before your appointment and some walk in person beat you by 2 min, the walk in gets your spot. I have waited 35 min and still counting. I have been going to this massage parlor at least four times in the past few years. This week, I may have picked up an allergic substance while lying on their bed? I suspect the lotion they possibly used was Gena warm-o-Lotion that they claim has been used there for several years. The night of the massage, I developed an allergic reaction called Eczema, or atopic dermatitis. First off, ignore most of the 1 & 2 star reviews. If you want luxury service, go to the Four Seasons and pay $150+ for a massage. If you want a private "traditional" massage, go to Massage Envy or Elements. However, if you want an unbeatable deal go to Jia. The 60 minute $29 special is a hell of a deal that just can't be beat. Yes, you get what you pay for and your experience can be anywhere from OK to amazing, but then again you paid $29 for a massage, what did you expect. 90% of the time I'll call in about an hour before I want to go and they'll have availability for me. 10% of the time I'll just drop in and they'll get me in within 15-20 minutes. Don't expect your normal private massage room. You're essentially getting a clothed, non-private massage in the store front. It's a long room, probably about 50 feet deep with about 10 low to the ground massage tables with no barrier between yourself and the person next to you, just a few feet. It's still a very quiet room and people do often fall asleep during their service. For the special, as you get to your table they'll bring out a small tub of hot water to soak your feet in as they start a head & neck massage. After that you'll be getting a foot massage and ending with a back massage. If you're looking for a spa massage, don't come here. If you realize that a $29 massage is an absolute steal and even an OK massage is worth it... then go to Jia. I go in with low expectations every time and leave happy. read more

I asked him to stop because I was in so much pain. He stopped and I asked what he poured on my back and he said "medicine" and gave me a thumbs up. I walked in to try out the "Jia Special" at $29 for 60 minutes. Talk about a steal for the price of a massage! First of all, you keep all your clothes on. It's best to wear something where your legs and arms are exposed since they will spend some time massaging your calves and your shoulders. She started out by having me lie down on a cot with my feet soaking in warm water. Then she proceeded to massage in this order: scalp, forehead, temples, neck, shoulders, arms, thighs, calves and feet. Then she had me turn over and spent some time on my back and neck. Overall, a great experience and I will be back for another one in the near future. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there are about ~10 cots in the main room and the lady next to me fell asleep while receiving her massage and was snoring very loudly. Space 0 stars - there is no separation between desk and massage beds and as a result you hear everything. Staff would be talking loudly to each other across the room, multiple phones ringing and a cold draft each time the door opened. Cost: they had a special for $30/hour for a foot massage. We typically have 2 hours of the foot massage wherever we go which would mean $60. They insisted on charging $79 fro 2 hours citing labor costs. This would mean that effectively the 2nd hour was at an incremental price of $49!!!!!! When I mentioned that hasn't been our typical experience at other places nearby, she started to bad mouth the other place. I told her that the other place also had good reviews as this place did and a 4* rating on yelp. She kept saying it and I once again reiterated the same. I'm not a fan of business owners who outright bad-mouth their competitors. Massage- my sister gave it 5 stars, I gave it 2 stars. She had someone that was incredible at finding all of her spots with appropriate pressure. Mine, I had to ask at least 6 times to apply more pressure (harder) and I knew that she understood as she would apply more pressure for a minute or so before going back to pressure that would rival only my very young nephew in terms of lack of pressure. My wife and mother-in-law said this place gave great massages and was very inexpensive. We booked 1 hour massages for four of us last Sunday. The price was only $29 (plus tip) for one hour head, neck, shoulders and foot massage. It was worth double that price--one of the best massages I've had in a long time. The workers speak very little English but they know how to give a great massage. You keep your clothes on here because the tables are side-by-side with no privacy. The massage experience was very pleasant for both my mom and I. However, the mood was totally shifted at checkout session. My mom and I both had different massage packages, therefore, we tipped our massage therapists differently. The female massage therapist who got tipped less gave us a face. Then my mom felt awkward and was about to give her more money to make it even and I stopped my mom. I believe the female therapist's poor attitude do not deserve any extra tips. I do not understand why I had to explain to her why we tipped her less. Isn't this common sense? We all tip base on how much we spend, right? We went to this spa a few years ago and our experience was more or less positive. Our latest visit proved quite the opposite. My wife and I were there at the same time side by side for their 60 minute foot and back massage. I have literally had hundreds of massages and found the pressure painful (even after letting the male tech know). But the biggest problem is that the two people working on us chatted in their own language the entire hour. This disrupted the relaxing atmosphere I was hoping for. When we confronted them on this issue, no one in the shop was able to deal with it since there were no English speakers there at the moment. It is imperative that at least one person at the shop be able to speak to customers - to deal with any number of issues. Not having at least one person able to do so is a serious drawback. We do not plan to go back to this spa for that reason. read more

I had gone here SEVERAL times and had very good experiences. The majority of the workers are hard-working people that want to provide a good service. Yesterday I went in for a one-hour table massage and was assigned an older man. I told him I wanted him to focus on my neck, but he acted like he didn't understand me and kept pulling down my underpants to do my buttocks. I think its a valid area, but this man wouldn't stop rubbing my tailbone. I kept telling him to stop with my butt but he didn't speak English and just laughed. I ended the session early. The most horrible part was when I went to pay, he didn't apply my $5 earned coupon. He kept pretending like he didn't understand me and didn't apply the discount. He rung me up for $60.00, not $55.00. To be polite, I didn't say anything. I tipped $15.00. As I was signing the bill, he literally GRUNTED, pointed to the sign, and waited until I changed the check to $20.00. I decided to find another foot spa when I had an employee (that seemed like a manager or supervisor) give me a massage, during which she used one hand to massage and one hand to be on her cell phone - I'm assuming texting. I found a new place, that I loooooooove, and have been going there for quite some time. I decided to get a 30-minute, back only massage (comes with hot stones) for $30. This place isn't much to look at, but the massages are great! There is an open room for traditional Chinese foot massages, and there are a few private rooms for full body massages with hot stones. I ended up being in one of the private rooms.
