Extremely disappointing and unethical experience with Elements Massage - Chester. My husband was a long-time member at the Morris Plains Elements Massage, which closed on 12/31. He had placed his membership on hold because he had 12 prepaid 90-minute sessions remaining. We spoke directly with the manager, who told us it was fine for me and our daughter to use the remaining sessions. Two sessions were used, leaving 10 prepaid 90-minute sessions (valued at well over $1,000). Since the summer, I repeatedly tried to book appointments. Calls went unanswered, the location was often closed, and I received messages saying someone would call me back which never happened. This went on for months. I have all these messages saved. I later learned the Morris Plains location had closed and was told the same owner and manager operates the Chester location. When I contacted Chester and explained the situation, I was told that all sessions had to be used by December 31st. I was never notified of this, no email, no call, no letter, despite them having no problem charging us read more

I just had a massage by Dan and it was fabulous!! I went because my back went out and I was in pain. I left feeling great ! He took the time to see what I needed and proceeded with what he thought would be better for me. I highly recommend him! read more

I can't recommend Tim enough! I deal with migraines and fibromyalgia and use massages as part of my treatment plan. Tim has been my masseuse for the past 2-1/2 years. He is very good at pinpointing my problem muscles and getting them to relax. read more

BEWARE! I purchased a 90 min massage for a deal they had for $130 on December 13th. I was willing to drive 50 mins because I've always had great experiences at other Elements Massage locations. After I made the purchase online I called to try and schedule an appointment for the next day. They were closed so I left a voicemail stating what I was looking for. I specifically said in my VM "even if you guys have no openings for tomorrow (Saturday) please call me back so I can schedule an appointment in the near future." The next day comes and goes, no returned phone call, then Sunday, and Monday, etc. So I tried calling later in the week from my other cell and no answer. I ended up going elsewhere to get a massage for half the price and it was AMAZING and no hassle to get scheduled for one. Fast forward, I decided that if I can't be given the courtesy of a returned phone call in over a week, then I want my money back to spend where my time is valued and appreciated. I didn't think I would have any issue with requesting a refund and boy was I wrong! I spoke with Crystal on Dec 24th and she was the first to feed me the BS about not being able to get a refund of MY MONEY for services that have not been provided to me! Let's be clear, if the fine print stated that no refunds would be given, then I wouldn't be able to dispute that. In this case, I didn't see this info on my receipt nor on the website (I did my research) and all they, Crystal and Samantha could say was "we just don't issue refunds." After speaking with Crystal about the issue, she informed me that Samantha, the manager, also the owner, would have to give me a call. Cool, no problem. Samantha, Samantha, Samantha, man you're a terrible manager and owner when it comes to resolving conflict. Can y'all believe that the OWNER of the establishment had the audacity to not only feed me the same BS but she proceeds to give me a weak excuse as to why I didn't get a phone call back (blamed it on her new employees who are still learning). She talked over me, continued to tell me I wasn't going to get my money back. And then, the BANGER, she hung up in my face. She exemplified everything that you're not supposed to as an owner and manager. Poor communication, excuses and she never attempted to resolve anything! Never tried to offer a solution to gain a new loyal customer. Just a weak apology and a "I don't care attitude". The point of all of this is to let you'll know that Samantha doesn't know how to provide excellent customer service when conflict arises. She plays the victim and is definitely power tripping. Oh, and of course I got my money back. Called my bank and got the refund immediately. You won't get $130 out of me, Samantha. My advice to you...DO BETTER. read more

I call back and am told the person I am booked with "Sabrina" is now unavailable for 2 days including my appointment. Horrible place run by SCAM ARTIST LIARS. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork so I'd get the full hour massage for $69. I filled out the paperwork in 1 minute and then had to endure 14 minutes of sales pitch to join their club and other added on services. Finally I was led into a massage room and told to undress and get on the table. It took me 10 seconds. The lady didn't come back for 5 whole minutes!!! I laid there wondering, where is she? On the phone? In the bathroom? Is she going to make up this missing time at the end? The massage was good. But then she cut it short another 5 minutes at the end! So I was cheated out of 10 very expensive minutes with no apology or explanation! I figured well, I'm not tipping her if she's cheating me. There is a huge sign where you check out saying you have to tip $15 to $25. So my $69 one hour massage was $88 for a 50 minute massage. The massage lady literally hovered over me while I was paying so I'd have to tip her. One hour is 60 minutes, not 50 $69 is $69, not $88. When I alerted the manager to this she said the 5 minutes was so I could turn off my cell phone!!!!! My phone was in the car and it only takes 2 seconds to turn it off. She had no explanation as to why the massage was cut off another 5 minutes at the end. read more

I booked my massage appointment one month in advance. I woke up early on a Saturday and traveled 40 minutes to get there, only to be told that the person who booked my appointment was fired because they didn't do a good job at booking. They didn't have any other massage therapist available. I was told I could come back the next day, but no one called to check on customers that were booked by this fired employee in the first place. Today was a waste of my time and money. I'm completely annoyed that I wasted my time and was treated so poorly. I went there to get a massage to relax, but I left angry, frustrated, and stressed. It ruined my entire day - how careless and thoughtless this establishment is. They are supposed to be high-end in customer attention and satisfaction. I have a year membership and every time I've tried to book an appointment, it's been a problem. After today, I am considering ending my membership and taking my business elsewhere. They are careless, thoughtless, and inconsiderate when it comes to customer attention and satisfaction. They could do nothing for me today, not even a phone call from a manager to help rectify the situation. read more

Very Disappointed with this business. Signed up for a monthly membership for my daughter in 2017. She was having issues due to sports injuries and I thought massage would help. I Used my credit card for auto pay. Her sessions were good, nothing great but depending upon the therapist that she booked, her sessions were anywhere from below average to very good. One negative, very difficult to book the better therapists, you usually have to go with the new ones and the churn there is high so the good ones don't even last. I think it is important to be able to stick with a therapist that knows what works best for you and it is impossible to do that here. So, fast forward to the past 10 months, my daughter has been very busy, graduated from high school and working so she built up 5 unused sessions. June 1 , my credit card expiration date expired and they needed a new one to continue billing however they did not even reach out to us until July 17th. By then the payment was 2 months behind. Keep in mind she had 5 unused sessions. When someone reached out to me today, I said can you please cancel her membership, she just doesn't have the time to come. We will have her use up her 5 paid sessions. The manager told me that in order for her to get those PAID FOR sessions, I had to give them a new credit card and pay for 2 more, June and July. I tried to reason with her , but she was unwilling to work with me. I think that is bad business. Update - regarding Emily's response below, lots of words but still the same problem. I am not the only one complaining about the 30 day rule. Also, much of what she said is untrue. My daughter had many different therapists (certainly not 2 consistent ones), one who made her so upset I had to call the manager after she got home - she told my daughter she had an orthopedic condition that required attention immediately. She had no business saying what she did - she is not a doctor. Even the manager was upset about what she said. Lastly, making it seem like I had to great options - pay them almost $200 for 2 more sessions when we already have 5 sessions it will be difficult for her to use (she never said anyone else could use them) or they would "honor" my termination request (thank you so much) and allow me to lose my 5 sessions already paid for. I try and get in at least once a month because it is so relaxing and my therapist makes my body feel so much better! the knowledge their staff has is incredible and the environment is very relaxing. everyone is warm and welcoming and the front desk girls are lovely! they offer a monthly massage membership at a discount which really helps me to be able to afford it since I'm still a college student. I had an unfortunate experience with Samantha, the manager, at Elements Massage in Chester, NJ. As a customer who has been going to this establishment for at least 6 months, I had to cancel my appointment within a 4 hour time period because my son was sick with a stomach flu. Samantha's unprofessional conduct over the phone completely took me by surprise when she said, "you are taking advantage of a good thing here with our spa." She had an attitude, was very unprofessional and condescending. She even said, "your payment didn't go through for November, so you need to pay that now or I can cancel your membership right now." I responded, "cancel it right now! You are unprofessional and no one talks to me that way. I also will be calling Malcolm directly to tell him about this incident." Having a business is all about customer service - well the customer service went right out the window with this incident. Samantha you need your attitude adjusted and need to go through training for enhancing your skills in customer service. You are not worthy of a "Manager" position anywhere. Therapists at Elements Massage do give a good massage but the management is sketchy. I became a member and I was literally told no fees and I can cancel at any time, which is not the case. I became a member to help battle back pain I was experiencing. When the back pain got worse, I went to my doctor who told me the massages where making my condition worse. I called Elements to have my membership canceled in the first week of November and get a fund for the month of November since Elements will automatically charge you in the beginning of the month for the first massage. I was told no refunds and they need a 30 day cancelation notice so I will also be charged for the first massage in the following month, which is ridiculous. I then told them that I have a doctors note and my cancellation is due to a medical reason. I was told by the rep to bring the doctor's note in and they will see what they can do. I passed by the following day and was offered a gift card for the November's charge and December's month won't be charged. I insisted a refund for November and management finally caved. To be clear,, I'm not knocking Elements Massage for making my medical condition worse but for not being upfront with their ridiculous 30 day cancellation notice requirement, which ways not explained when the membership was pitch to me and I even read the contract and don't remember that fine print. read more

My massage was wonderful; however, my experience was completely ruined by the manager, Samantha. I had utilized a gift certificate to pay for my service only to be left voicemails and a bill for a remaining balance that was apparently due of which I was NOT aware of. Apparently her staff should not have accepted my gift certificate, which was purchased from a location that had closed, and she did me a favor by accepting it. As their potential new client I will never return after being told it was "unfortunate that my gift certificate wasn't for more," and that I was angry and not understanding. Yes, I do not understand how their error is my responsibility, but I do understand that she handled the situation poorly. She will receive her money, but she will never get me back. read more

Carrie who was the first impression i had was super sweet and helpful. she referred me to Jennifer, the massage therapist. hour long massage in a beautiful peaceful room. she was great and for the first time in years i felt relaxed. she really personalized my experiences and took care of my needs and targeted the areas that were tense. i will be coming back to Jennifer, i signed up for the membership voluntarily because of the amount of customer service i received today. very satisfied, HIGHLY recommended service & highly recommend Jennifer. read more

Massages used to be looked at as a luxury item; but we work hard and do repetitive actions that cause our muscles to tighten needing a little help to relax. The massage therapists here are professional, pleasant and attentive. When you sign up for the monthly massages, you can pick any time in the month to visit. They do like to put you with a specific massage therapist once you've had someone, but it's a good practice to try them all until you find the one that works best for you. Enjoy. read more
